I've seen her live. When she plugs in and plays her first riff, they set down their beers, stop talking, and they start listening.
Thankfully she understands the importance of being civil to her fans. You'd think all artists would be hip to that. But they ain't.
problem is a lot of good artists are introverts and often lack social skills from intense training/practice. They may also have serious drug habits that will cause similar social anxiety too. and people can be overwhelming. and the energy can sometimes really jar them. Remember, they are people too, and its a special combo of charisma and technical talent.
@@theincrediblelarry5028 being an "artist" is not categorically an excuse for being a terrible person... for every awkward introvert, there's at least one other brash egotistical self absorbed self righteous ass wipe... let's not pretend that everything can be boiled down to communication differences. some people are capital J jerkoffs. you might just have to separate the art from the artist... that's life.
She's simply one of the grooviest people I've ever known. Love you, Samantha!!
I love this interview; she has hard work ethic, she is wise, saved her money, reinvested, took it slow, enjoyed the process and just let things happen. She deserves ALL credit. I've always seen the great STAR in Samantha ever since I first saw her in Girls with Guitars!
Man reason Samantha is awesome is the fact she is always in the moment. She will talk to you like you are her best friend. I was leaning on her van long ago and couldn't believe she was doing her own roadie work ! Yes she can tote some gear !! Good people ....the New Beatles is what someone in the crowd said. That stuck. Hope she gets all she deserves.....
She's so incredible. Her solid work ethic and her talent are off the charts. Her business saavy and intelligence blow me away! What a rare and precious gift she was given. She's just amazing. So beautiful too, inside and out. I just love her so much. I feel so connected to her music. Every time she picks up a guitar she just floors me! Can't wait to see her live!

In a way I'm grateful to be a new fan because there's a decent body of material out there for 5 or more years and I get to enjoy the Samantha Fish journey as a catching up experience. She reminded me of Eric Clapton the first time I heard her, and I've had people roll their eyes at first, but then when they listen they start to get it. Also, if they're familiar with Clapton's early trio work like Blind Faith and the process of his career, they start seeing what I'm saying about her as a developing singer, songwriter, blues-rock guitarist and label her less as a novelty female artist. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this pre-pandemic panel. Also, she's a million times more genuine and kind in how she presents herself than so many other artists, which makes it extremely easy to be a fan.

Man just learned that Samantha Fish is a blues playing lady guitarist from Kansas City. She is a very talented young woman and has a good business sense as well. She has a really awesome playing style on her blues guitars......and sings her her heart out on all her songs.....what a really down home soulful voice......im going to follow here on FB and hope to see here when she plays KC.....Go on Samantha with your bad self....... :)
Dead on! I Have only just found Samantha Fish online myself and 'Oh My' what an amazing talent... You tube is doing somethings right still as So glad to have a whole new 'brand' of her style from the past to the present and now the future.
Welcome to the club, lol ive seen play several times, i used to play blues on the road and one of my griends (female music acquaintance) that i played with used to play and sing with Sam. She just as normal as your sister, of course you see here very smart and savy and knows how to work it as you see here.
My wife stumbled on one of her videos a few years ago and became an instant fan. She made me drive her 3.5 hours to one of her small venue concerts and I was converted to a fan also after watching her live performance. After the show we were about to leave and Samantha came out to sign autographs and take pic's with everyone, wife had her sign one of her CD's and took a great picture with her. She's down to earth and well grounded. So, far we have seen her twice in the last two years and we already purchased tickets to go see her play in San Francisco in September.
She was scheduled to play The Truman soon, spring/summer 2020. But with the whole virus thing who knows.
Wow, this is the second interview I watched with her in the last couple of days. She handles herself well and is not all full of herself. Not only is her music getting fully charged, her approach and hard work is paying off. Just missed her in SD tonight but I will wait to catch her somewhere. Love the Romesh Remix also. Fun stuff.
I love everything about her .She has paid her dues and deserves whatever she wants ...musical freedom and a spot in the blues genera as one of the hardest working new artist. Her talent and relativity to her fans is top notch!!!nothing but love and respect from Texas.:)

Hi I came to know about Samantha Fish almost 2 weeks ago from youtube as I am only based in Maldives. What makes me fascinated most about her, is her style of singing with her powerful voice and playing the guitar with solo at the same time, that also at ease. In this modern times, there are not many artist who performs like Samantha Fish. I would like to visit to US one day just to watch her live performance. Just to finish here, she is my idol now even though I play on acoustic guitar for the last 2 yrs 6 months.

Love Samantha. I've seen her 2 or 3 times in Telluride and at Songbirds in Chattanooga. Being one of her older fans I love the blues stuff. But, I understand that she is so talented that she wants to do more than straight blues. And I'll look forward to seeing what she does in the future.
It's funny she mentioned Walk off the earth, they avg. about 20 million views per video and have almost 200 million views for somebody i used to know, so when they put something out you're going to get noticed, especially when you have amazing talent like Samantha has, first song I heard from her was Bullet Proof, been hooked ever since. Keep on Rocking!!!
The first things I noticed about Samantha Fish (other than great music) was that she is very focused, hard working, and committed. She's also presents as a very kind person. We need more women in music and Samantha Fish is a great role model. There is no doubt in my mind that she is going to be very successful, and become an icon in the music industry. It takes lots of time and hard work; Samantha has been putting in both. I call her "Lady Blues". She's awesome.

Hooray! Finally got to see her live at Winthrop R&B Festival last week. A dynamic, electrifying performer and a charming woman. Love her band too. Us oldsters know a genuine star when we see one. Hope that younger people catch on and start attending her shows soon. Making Americana Great Again!
Have been following her career since her fist gig in Raleigh at the Lincoln Theater. Seen her play about 5 times after and love her playing. She has given a boost to the blues.

Have been following her online for several years and finally got to see her perform Chills & Fever tour at Doheny Blues Festival 2017, Love, love, love her performances! Her new album Belle of the West is awesome! Really love this interview! Love the guitar solos all the time, so incredible she she gets into a song and goes off the rails on her solos. I have had the very great pleasure of seeing Samantha's super performances, live in London (UK) clubs, on two occasions now and her great guitar playing and vocal energy and fab ensemble is/are second to none. Her fondness for her fans and they for her is plain to see. Well done Samantha for being a super talented performer and thoroughly charming , gracious , modest and thoughtful young lady.
I completely love certain bands and songs but my tastes drift between genres so much that friends wonder what I really like, specifically. The first time I saw Samantha Fish was in CZcams. She covers so much in such a diverse cross-over of many genres that, I can't get enough of this beautiful talent. Some say Rock'n Roll, some say Blues, etc, etc... I simply say Go Fish!!

Great, great interview. About the "Genre" issue. I just say Samantha last night in Louisville, CO and the show was excellent. I agree that her shows will be her stepping stone to success just like Springsteen's shows lead to his success. Another example, the first time I saw Grace Potter she blew me away and I knew that she would become more and more successful. Her marketing tools are her skill sets showcased on stage. That said, speaking to the pigeon hole genre thing ... I told several friends to come and see a great "blues" guitarist and singer. Then the show wasn't the hard hitting "Blues" set I was expecting based on CZcams. It really showcased some new directions which I personally liked. The show still had enough killer guitar licks, great arrangements and fantastic vocals to impress my friends and everyone else. I think a touring artist needs to play to their fan base with some songs from their past and of course new stuff. Every artist needs to grow, experiment ... think Beatles, what variety. I love the "Chills and Fever" CD and thought it was a great indicator of what variety the future might bring. So, I was not disappointed in that fact that the set was not the power trio blues set I was expecting (it wasn't a blues festival after all, it was a family town concert) because she and her band were so damn good. Her fame and audience will grow and grow as long as the quality of work is good on her CDs and on stage.
Wow as if the talent wasn't enough the brains to go along with it I'm impressed .Love the music and I'm at a loss for words I never new how much work it was to be a successful band .
Samantha, you have been my idol for years, but this interview, I just loved, it is YOU all over, your the very best and as Buddy Guy said (when you guys were playing together) you are the blues queen, you took over where he left off. You really feel your audience and that is the key! being a fantastic businesswoman is also a great asset and your songwriting is super, you are the all around super blues queen, keep up the fantastic work Sam, I love you and we all love you girl!!!

Truly an amazing lady
As a bass player having been in bands with hot female singers, I always enjoyed watching the guys in the crowd respond to the high heels. It was good for me too.
I think Samatha's best selling thing is the Runaway videos on YT. It was/is the not-over-produced version of her both vocally and on the guitar. It comes across as a personal connection to the audience there, and the chemistry between her and an audience is apparent :)
I also hope she drops by Andertonsif she does a UK tour. I suspect that she will connect with a whole new audience (international) talking to them about the guitar side, and demoing a song or two.

This dude is right. Sam has it all--dramatic stage presence, incredible skills as a musician and music that strikes home with everyone. I go to her concerts whenever she comes within driving distance of me. I've seen her four times so far. Wish I was her boyfriend!!
After seeing WALK-OFF-THE-EARTH do their "Little Boxes" video, I looked up information on cigar-box guitars. That led me to discover Samantha Fish and her band. Tonight I am adding the 160th video to a SAMANTHA FISH YOU-TUBE PLAYLIST. 2 weeks ago I had never heard of her, now I am tending an ever-increasing playlist of her work.

Over the last few years I became aware of Samantha Fish on CZcams. Loved the sound, I was able to see her play at the Blues on the Fox festival in Aurora, Il., this past June. It was a great show. I was not sure what type of audience would attend. I was surprised that it was an older audience. (I myself am in my 60's). I hope the younger generation starts to listen to her music. It is great.

Very interesting interview with the fast rising star that Samantha Fish became in the last couple of years. What a nice, talented and wise person. I was quite taken aback by the question of the lady bass player at 1:01:20. If she considers she does not want to sing the Blues because she feels it's ripping something off the African Americans, that's fine with her, but it's a personal attitude. Blues is a state of mind which comes from your heart and your soul, not from your brain. You don't have to be black or white, rich or poor to feel the Blues: it comes from your guts and you have to sing it out. Of course I might be influenced by some great blues players when I play but I don't have to refer to anybody to express that deep feeling I have at the moment I play that note or sing it out. Why do things end up being so political ?

You're my favorite new artist of the past decade, maybe a couple of decades. I thought I wasn't excited about new music like I was when I was younger, but I think there just hasn't been much new music to get excited about. You're like a blast of fresh air in my book -- hope I get to see you perform live someday. I saw Stevie Ray live three times and you remind me of him so much.
