Simple Truck Camping Platform & Truck Bed Storage Build Under $200 | Ford Ranger

This is a video one in a series of videos I will be doing to improve my truck camping set up. This video covers the basic build of the platform and storage drawers. I am by no means a professional at wood working, or anything for that matter. LOL In addition I built this with basically two tools, a battery powered 4.5 inch circular saw, and a drill. In the following videos I will not only be upgrading the set up to have power, water, and other amenities, but I will also be camping in it, possibly living in it. You should do a explorer overhead console to go with the seats you put in. Your explanation on the wiring for the seats is extremely helpful and I would love to see you do the overhead console.

@@DoinitwithDoug there are very few things that make me nervous when working on cars and wiring is one of them. Just trying to make my ranger the best it can be which started with a v8 swap.

Hey man I’m doing a build similar in my truck, and I was wondering how much this whole set up cost you to make?
I live in Colorado where materials are crazy pricey, but I spent about $250 on the build. I bought everything new though, so if you can source some wood and maybe some carpet I bet you could do it pretty cheap. Thanks for watching Charles.

I’ve watched 7 or 8 of these videos. The lack of L brackets concerns me.
