Missed the deal! Bought 2 sets the day they dropped again. As I damaged my first set. Grateful to have been able to order a fresh replacement :)
@@66stangRhthanks for ordering and we hope you love them!! ❤
You should do more drill videos, Iona, because everything you do and say makes complete sense and is so simple love it
Thanks Iona will give this ago. Professional men's golf is so hard to emulate as an amateur, so quick and aggressive, love the calmness of women's golf. You make it seem so effortless.
I want to thank you for this drill, I went out this morning and executed this drill. I’m in my mid sixties now, I believe I gained 15 to 20 yards after doing this. Thank you Iona !!!
This is exactly what I’ve struggled with for about 5 years now.. steep and over the top. Of course not always but with my bad swings. Too many of those even yesterday.
One of the best videos and most useful videos I have ever seen on the subject. Will do this every range session from now on😊.
Thx Iona and keep up the good work!👏⛳️
Thanks for re-enforcing the importance of this drill. The first time I saw this was through YT; Danny Maude a few months ago. I shared it with a friend and now he takes a practice swing with his feet together before every shot. Thinking I might follow his lead.
Love this simple drill. I've used this previously as I had a terrible sway. This has eliminated it and I now turn so much better. This one really works.!!!!
Iona, this has been my "go to" drill for whenever my swing gets too rushed. It works like a charm every time...
Iona thanks!! I have to say, I was a bit sceptical about this as I thought you hit it straight etc anyway, but wow!! I tried it on the range today and (as you said) with my feet together I was amazed at how straight and far the ball actually went. I decided to use it as a quick pre-shot routine for feel and my driving was so much better on the course today. Thank you and please try it everyone 😊😊
Thank you for the practice drill,Iona ..⛳ 🏌️ 🏴 ⛳ ..
Enjoy Royal Bled, 🇸🇮 💖🧙🏼♂️
Great structures you bring to practice. Beats mindlessly pummelling balls with no clear intent.
I also love the positivity and kindness that you bring. The best golf and life videos out there.
You're a truly good soul Iona. Thank you and keep them coming. 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Perfect timing as I found something similar myself last week at the range. I realized I was diving at the ball, and focusing on swinging the club with my arms made a huge difference. I played the best I have in ages after working on this.
A great drill & reminder on keeping the swing simple. Thanks Iona 👍
Iona , great drill I've used it many times and it always works to sort out my swing ...You should think about playing again your swing is absolutely beautiful .. keep up the outstanding work on this channel the best on YT period
Funnily enough, the hilarious Golf Sidekick just covered the same tip…he spent several weeks doing this feet together, pitching wedge shots to perfect his balance and ball striking….good stuff Iona!
Btw, some guy called Ben Hogan once said “your swing can never be too flat!” 😂
I am determined to play my entire round tomorrow with my feet together. Yeah, the guys are gonna laugh, hopefully right up until I beat them, hahaha!
I love the simplicity of your instructional videos. Very focused, very calm and leave a lot for people to put their own swing in. Definitely going to use this one. Thank you.
Keep the instruction/tips videos coming Iona. This my go-to drill when I start to come over the top (was recommended to me by an ex pro friend of mine), does make a great difference.
OMG Iona thanks for sharing this...tried it yesterday and was able to move my ball launch from 4 degrees left to 2 degrees right and I have better balance...thanks again!
For me, this is exactly what I need. You talk about not knowing how it should feel when a ball is at your feet instead of the air. I am so frustrated now. I've been a 23 HCP for 2 years and can not get better. I can not wait to try this.
WOW! Absolutely the best explanation of how your body works when creating a proper swing. Can’t wait to get to the driving range and use this drill. Thank you again Iona for your insights.
As a chronic slicer of the ball I can vouch for using this exercise to maintain balance and get your hands working properly in the swing, I went from slice to soft draw in the space of one lesson from our club pro.
You're absolutely brilliant ... i say this as a scratch golfer simply enjoying the way YOU enjoy and love the game ... the passion within you is infectious to the bone ... keep it up... I'm sharing this to my Golf-Page for most Icelandic golfers to enjoy ;) ;)
I normally skip over the sponsor part of videos but I'm glad I watched all of yours. That was some wise words and sounded straight from the heart. A part of Iona that I didn't know existed. As for the golf part, you are one of the most accurate ball strikers on youtube. I'm always amazed at your consistency and ability to hit the ball down the middle of the fairway. I will definitely be taking this drill to the range. But for now, I'm off to the course!!!! Thanks, Iona :)
Really nice drill Iona I’m off to the range tomorrow to dial in on my distances either all clubs throughout the bag will warm up first by trying your drill keep the content coming x
Years ago I did this drill for hours, thousands of balls. I came down from 10 to 1, great feel and one I need back....desperately!!!
So good, thanks. Please do more video's. With all the talk of the body leading and swinging this shows how powerful the arms really are, Thanks again.
John Jacobs used to recommend this back in the seventies as the best drill to develop a free arm swing. It really works.
60s
I have seen this drill a few times on YT but your explanation is the best
Love this. I struggle with consistency, especially with my driver. Will start with this on all my practice. Genius 👏👏
This is a great tip. I struggle big time with coming in steep on the ball. I just about get away with it with the iron swing but driver is so hit and miss. I have only just, after nearly a year of lessons, figured out for myself that feeling of the club going around the body. This drill will make a big difference to emphasise that. Thanks Iona. Loving the content as always!
When everyone says hit "down" or "up" on the ball, it's easily forgotten. Good tip. :)
you explain things better than anyone.
Great drill! I'm going to take it to the driving range and implement this into my practice routine.
Been playing for years now hit 73 the other day and I put it down to some of your tips Iv watched xx keep them coming
Thanks for the drill. Can't wait to give this a shot at the range!
Excellent drill. Another way to look at it is to think of the ball being in front of us and not below us. As you say, if the ball were on a very long tee, we would immediately understand that the ball is in front of us so we would naturally swing around ourselves. Another way is to imagine you and the ball are inside a glass sphere. and it is easier to understand that our golf swing moves around us in through a spherical space.
Great tip Iona. Playing tomorrow, hoping to break 90. Wish me luck 😁👍
Great tip from a beautiful spot. Love the mountains in the background. Nice video.
Great tip Iona, I always go back to this narrow stance when I "lose" my in to out path. Also moving the ball a little further back in my stance, just to get the feeling back.
I discovered this some years ago Iona on the range, it works wonders with a pitching wedge or 9 iron in a game,
feet close together. The accuracy is amazing ball drops on line with the pin 👏👏⛳️
Nice drill simple and very effective
I learned this drill myself back in the 1990's and occasionally use it (when I remember to) and it's effective. I used it to ingrain the sense of balance because I too would feel myself slipping into the "Reverse Pivot"... a slicer's nightmare. Now, I've changed my swing and produce more of a draw (that's completely unreliable) and at my age, a stiff back promotes a short and block swing. This drill, I now use to help loosen my back before taking the full, driver swings on the practice range.
Morning
Great video again. I've just gone back to the same drill and have rediscovered my swing and rhythm.
Regards Mike
West Bradford Golf Club, Yorkshire
good stuff! been trying this drill and it makes easier for me not to overswing, and play with relaxed arms.
Genius...... looks so simple and easy to do I'm going to give it a go. I've always struggled to rotate keeping the legs and hips in the under control which makes me cast the club. Regular lessons have helped me get to playing off 14, and my coach always keeps things simple as he knows I struggle to action anything too complicated or technical, this looks brilliant. Thanks again for the constant great content.
Love it. Thank you, Iona.
Hey Iona, I have missed seeing your videos recently! I enjoyed this video and I tend to cast my driver and I feel this drill will help me swing around my body! Sometimes with irons I will hit them fat and on some occasions I will pull hook my irons! I appreciate you and your attitude towards golf and life. Your Joy comes across for golf and life and you are helping others to enjoy their leisure time while playing golf, I have enjoyed seeing golf courses from all over the world and love heating your comments and observations! Thanks for being a Blessing to all!! See you on the next video!! Kelly in North Carolina😊
Great drill Iona builds tempo as you can’t go hard after the ball also improves ball striking 👏
That was great and so relevant to where I'm at with my game. Thankyou so much.
I agreed Iona , it is very important to practice these shots
Wow, I get all these lessons and tips for just subscribing for free. Excellent Iona keep them coming my golf is improving thanks to you..😊😊
Great advice Iona. Funnily enough this is exactly what I've been working on the last few weeks. I went down the ground force rabbit hole and lost hitting the ball with my arms. Cheers
Only hit a few into a net so far but good lord, never had such good contact, cannot wait to try this on the range. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Very simple drill, I will try the drill tomorrow!! I still use your F ,G, P. on the score card to keep track on my weaknesses. Thanks for all your hard work 😎⛳️👍
Great drill and valuable comments on life. A wonderful sample of what the channel offers on the whole. Thanks as always and looking forward to the next one.
Great drill! As a cricket player this will help with my swing as cut down on it natural from years of cricket!
Great drill Iona another one is a step through so you swing back and as you come through you step through, because that helps with transferring your weight
Thanks for this! Took it to the course this weekend and it made a huge difference; would have loved to have had this one years ago.
The teaching pro at my local club uses this drill as almost a starter for his students, it's brilliant.!
I remember drills like this and it will really help me. Thanks so much, I had a really dispiriting day on the course the other day and I wanted to go back out and work on solid contact without my body jumping around like I was electrocuted
Iona..
Thank you for finding the perfect golf drill.
I'll be at the range to use it.
Thanks Iona I have been swaying a lot in my swing but your tip has helped me to get back in balance.
I always suffered with lateral movement and a bad left knee stopping my arms swinging around. My aim is to play within my limitations and have a narrower stance for my return to the greatest game of all. Thanks loved the video.
Helpful and crystal clear. That's Slovenia? Beautiful!
Oh my gosh is right Iona , what a great tip , just applied it in my garage and I could feel it , going to the range early tomorrow , cheers
I agree with emphasizing arms, wrists, and (most importantly) hands. For years I followed an instructor that emphasized body and de emphasized arms. I ended up with a bad back. Now I follow Mike Malaska which has freed me to use my arms and hands. Watch Bernard Langer’s timeless swing where he pumps his arms. His body reacts to his arms, not the opposite.
100% true
Totally agree
Brilliant Iona! I myself have been doing the feet together drill with driver for a couple weeks now. My lower body just wants to fire so fast, it really calms it down. It’s amazing the club head speed you can create with your feet together and some good intent. My current personal best with feet together is 109.
Really good drill and well presented. Thanks Iona. Keep ‘em coming.
Many thanks Iona for this little diamond of info. I'll take it on board and practice this. Golf is to be enjoyed not to be feared. 😊
I was a 5 handicap (sounds like an American President) got married and went up to 15 then dropped out of playing for 20 years. Got a 16 handicap last month. This type of video is really useful. Other things I'd find useful are (1) how to structure & organise a beneficial practice session on the range without hitting balls like a machine gun (2) confidence around the green with wedges, related to fear of skulling a shot right through the green (3) the putting process - reading, back to basics. Hope you can work these into your busy schedule.
Generally I’ve been ok swinging around with the driver and short irons, but struggled with mid to long irons. I’ll give this a crack, hopefully I can drop down off that 10.8 finally.
Thank you again for the content you produce Iona, it’s very much appreciated.
I have narrowed my stance on all my clubs and I’m getting such good strikes thanks for your tip Iona👍
Thanks Iona, I'm definitely going to give this a go.
I’m a “swayer” I have to either time it perfectly or guard against this.
This tip was shown to me 30 years ago by my then coach. I still use it but need reminding so thank you!
Thank you, thank you for this drill. I struggle so much trying to make a consistent back swing. This drill immediately fixed my back swing. Most importantly IMHO, this drill automatically sets the wrist hinge without you having to think about it (think soft hands). It aligns the butt of the club directly at the ball/target line. If you choke up on the driver grip and stop after your wrists set, you can see the exposed portion of the grip points to the target line. Maybe you could expound on that benefit in another video. Thanks again. I subscribed to your channel. 😊
Pete Cowan was also talking about this Iona, you are so right, in future I'm going to warm up this way, you are such a selfless person Iona thank you
I am going to give this a go haven't been hitting balls for quite some time and I love any hints and tip thank you ❤
Great drill that I always go back to whenever I start coming over the top or suffer from information overload.
Yet another fantastic educational
video. Thanks Iona, defo gonna give this a try
Iona, that is a drill that helped me to get back on the course and at least play 4 weeks post knee replacement 2 years ago. I can attest that it went further by helping my entire game as I gained the ability to take a more full swing as my rehab continued. Great drill!
So simple but really effective. This drill is a keeper, thank you for sharing, will make a difference
Thank you for sharing this drill Iona. You always explain things in such a clear way and I appreciate the different camera angles. Keep up the good work.
I cannot wait to do this drill A LOT. Starting tomorrow morning ! Thank you thank you thank you
Following up! I really had a great experience doing this and plan to make many more visits to the range to do this drill!
Thanks again for remembering to Keep it Simple, Iona! I usually match that drill with a rear foot back drill to keep myself from swaying - my biggest challenge since coming back to golf 2 years ago. Looking forward to what you have to offer next!
Thanks Iona! I can’t wait to try this! ❤
These lessons are awesome! Thank you also for the front camera angle.., it helps a lot to visualize the swing and hip movement. I clicked on the notification bell., hope my game improves soon!!
Another great video Iona brilliant drill will be taking it to the range with me also loved the little bit in the middle were you took the time just to chat about how ppl are feeling . Amazing Iona thank you so much
Love this. Thank you!
Reminds me of the one leg drill , always gets me launching the wedges ❤
Am a 70 yr old … have been playing to a decent handicap these past 25 yrs here in India. Bought a Callaway Big Bertha custom fitted and decided to try your method…surprisingly it was effortless after a while and by the 20 th tee shot I was hitting a cool 230 + yards. Let me stick to this a while and do a 75%swing after to see how far it goes. After all at 70…there is no hurry. Maybe I would take the feet width of Bernard Langer to add to your instructions. Thank you Ma’m
Excellent advice. Thank you.
Your tips are the best. Very enjoyable videos!
This is awesome! Thank you, Iona!
So useful as always and you communicate the message so well
Such an enjoyable and informative 10 minutes. Tx Iona and crew
Thanks Iona! I will give that one a try! Struggles with the Driver lately
Hey thanks Iona, I have been performing that drill for years. One of my first lessons, I wanted to learn how to play a draw and that’s exactly what he had me learning. Every now and then I go back to that for a check up
Been implementing this in the last week to swing with great consistency.....only thing I would add is to keep weight or pressure over the left foot or left side....Great tip
Great drill tks so much.
