  • Zoe has always been interested in poetry and in her talk she describes how a painting she saw in an art gallery inspired her to write an ekphrastic poem. She outlines this lesser known form of poetry and its ability to connect a poet and an artist across the ages. She ends her talk with the poem she wrote, in front of an image of the painting that inspired it, Moonlit Estuary by the Dutch painter Aert van der Neer. Zoe is a Sixth Former at the King Alfred School, studying Chemistry, Maths and Physics. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
