If you don’t send the right type of letter, it can be harmful. Each letter is unique, and most of you have sent a letter, but not the right type of letter. You've probably told your ex that you miss them, you’re sorry, and that you can make them happy.
Those letters don’t work and usually pushes an ex further away because you ARE STILL that person they broke up with. You’re continuing to chase and you’re not getting the hint. You're not realizing that they’re not ready to hear that kind of message.
What your ex wants is to feel understood and they want to feel inspired.
When people don’t get a response after a letter, it is because your ex feels chased, feels put on a pedestal, or feels misunderstood. It is important that you understand this before trying to re-engage with your ex, because more of the same isn't going to help you.

I was successful with the hand written letter. It's important to take your time and don't rush the process of trying to get back together. Really make sure you are in a good place before reaching out to them. Keep your letter lighthearted and accountable. Don't give out all the details of things you've been working on. Actions speak louder than words! Give them time to read the letter and process it. If they don't call within 2 to 3 weeks...reach out to them with a brief phone call to ask if they received your letter and to see how they are doing. Keep the conversation lighthearted. I know a letter may sound cheesy to some but, after months apart a letter is a non threatening way to reach out and they won't feel pressured to reply.

I was successful with my letter to my ex...he reached out in two days...and acknowledged, that he received it..and he hear me...then took the time to see how things been going with me.

I wrote something along the lines of thanks for everything the good and bad, you’re an unique person. Around two sentences on when I first noticed him because we had previous conversations about that and I never told him which moment. Then I said all the best blablabla. Is that classified as a love letter or have I done it partially right? Thanks
I did the letter, I was very proud of it. I had to send it via email because it is long distance. She responded a day later. She was impressed, admired by strength. What's difficult is I didn't point any blame, but she still hasn't excepted any responsibility. What do I do now? No contact still?

I sent the right kind of email. In it I showed my growth, but also said to her I thought it would have been better if she had told me that she was seeing someone at work, rather than me find out through colleagues and that it made me question whether it had started when we were together. She responded less than an hour after I sent it saying she was glad to hear I had got myself to a good place and wished me the best in everything I do, but equally was saying she never cheated or lined anything up it was a MONTH before anything happen and how her or her current partner would not do that, and that it was up to me if I believed her. It read to me like she had missed the point in some ways , abd had her rebound on a pedestal she also reiterated at the end that we weren’t right together long term. on that based. I didn’t reply not really there was anything to reply too. Although you didn't send the right type of letter, this response is not all that bad.
You have to approach your breakup recovery process the right way and I'm sure that in time you can win her back. The bridge has already been rebuilt!

What do you do when he's treats you like a best friend and desperately wants to keep in contact with you? He wants to rebuild our bond. @@LoveAdviceTVCommunity we have been in ldr for all of our relationship. He felt very unfulfilled during hard times as I can't be with him physically. So he broke it off along with other issues. I am currently studying in another part of the country. Distance can only be closed once I graduate...which is another 2 years. :) thank you for the reply!

Hello coach! Thanks for an amazing video.My ex and I were in a relationship for 5 years including 2 years of LDR. Princess, just curious about the LDR. What was the distance between you? I just left a two year LDR. I was 140 miles away so a 2 1/2 hour one way drive.

I wrote my ex an letter over a week ago, telling him good memories and how it all started en that I'm sorry for not giving him my 100% and that I grow from being in a relationship with him and that I've changed but that I'll understand that we can't be together now (because he has a new gf) and I also said that if he's happy that I'm happy and that he always will have a special place in my heart. I went radio silence for 32 days and sent a letter, she never responded and after two more weeks I broke the silence with a text asking her how to make a food she used to make and she responded. She asked me to come over to pick up a couple things and I told her I had gotten her and her daughter a few Xmas presents, and that I made handwritten notes for each one to her daughter. She said it was fine so I went over and she wanted to hug me so we hugged for a minute and then talked about what we’d been up to. She was smiling the whole time and we joked around some too. She finally told me I should go and when I asked why she responded with “I don’t want to say”. So I told her it was good to see her and she said it was good to see me too. And instead of hesitating around like I used to I just told her thank you and went home. She randomly text me today and we talked for a little while but I kept it light because I know she’s still seeing somebody or at least I think she still is, but I’m going to continue with the keeping it light for now just to show her I’ve been working on me and that I’m not the same guy she left back in September. Even if it never goes anywhere I’m still happy I’ve improved myself, and I’m happy she left that kind of impact on my life. She a wonderful woman and I will always love her but I want her to be happy more than anything. Whatever you feel is best junesdairy, this is your breakup recovery process.

I wrote my ex a letter and plan on sending it on Monday. I planned this for a while. We saw each other in August and again yesterday for a mutual friend's holiday party. I ve watched the video "I Said Some Really Mean And Hurtful Things To My Ex" because i yelled at her. I told her to shut her mouth. My behavior was so inappropriate. However in this video coach Alex said "even if you have regret take your time in order to maybe send a letter". As he said I told her I don't want to contact you because i want to understand why did i act like this. I really took it into consideration. After a lot of thought i ve decided to sent her a letter 3 days later. Long story short. In this later i was talking about the things i liked about her the mistakes i ve done and the things i am going to change but she felt like i was needed a break up permanently. Specifically she said that she really admires my action but this can't work between us. I ashamed because i was vulnerable that particular moment. I feel like i lost some attraction with this letter.

Hi there... sorry if I wasn't clear in the video. What I'm saying is that shouldn't be saying sorry OVER, AND OVER AGAIN. It's ok to say sorry once or twice. But don't apologize repeatedly to the point that it has the undesired effect of constantly reminding your ex of what you did wrong. Apologizing continuously is pointless if it only serves to remind your ex of your wrongdoings. So no, I was not lying. Apologies if I gave you that impression :) - Coach Adrian
