Hi Elisa, my name is John and currently I am struggling with over exercising and ED, your video really made me change my mindset towards exercising, tomorrow I will rest and reefed like you said! Hopefully my ED doesn’t trick me to make me really guilty about gaining weight resulting me into over exercising again. Thank you so much for the advice I will try my hardest to recover from ED and over exercising!

Thank you so much, I'm almost crying. I've started my recovery a week ago, and I feel really fat and weak. But your videos are so helpful! I really hate exercising, but I felt like I have to... Now I feel better, thank you.

Im not diagnosticated yet but doctors left out exercise for me because Im at a low weight and I need to get my period back(since i dont have it 8 months ago). I did exercise every day for about an hour and a half but then I reduced it to 1 hour 4 times a week and was feeling bad about it. Now I cant even do exercise, go to walk, run, any physical activity apart from school, and I feel so weird bc it was something I used to do as a part of my daily routine and I was kind of making progress(bc I only wanted abs, never to loose my period). So its pretty hard to quite something totally from your life and start seeing changes in your body too. Im only going 3 days but I almost feel my stomach getting bigger, even i know its probably just an ilusion, but its hard, just sooo hard. Im always anxious and I cry when Im alone bc I feel WEIRD no exercising plus eating twice as much as before(because I have started a meal plan to gain weight, I do eat 5 times a day and big portions) and things I dont like(I don't know why, but the nutritionist is making me consume honey and panela, and processed foods with sugar or preservatives, which I had already eliminated from my diet) and i just feel so bad, but dont show it because i dont wan to hurt more my parents, they are doing too much for me, idk,i just want to dissapear.

    • @Sternensaatenlesungen

The low end of the "healthy" BMI might not actually be healthy for you. There are very few people who can stay at such a low weight without restricting their food intake or over exercising. If you're still controlling your weight by exercising compulsively or not eating as much as you want, you still have to gain more weight. You're body knows, what it's doing and what it needs. If you want to recover, you have to stop.

I’m recovering from exercise bulimia/compulsive exercise and anorexia. I used to have binge eating disorder 4 years ago, but I have overcome that years ago. Now I still have anorexia a little bit, and I am trying to overcome that by going all-in recovery. It has been a week since I’ve stopped exercising cold-turkey. I have gained 7 pounds for the past week, and now, my weight seem to be stabilized because I have tried my best to eat as much as I can every single day.
I am wondering when I can start exercising again. I am scared that I might lose my health due to quitting exercise. I really don’t want to lose my muscles…. I am wondering when I can start exercising again. Now that I have gained some weight, I really want to do some weight lifting, because honestly it feels good for my body, I kinda want to keep my body-shape as well, but most importantly, I don’t want to feel tired because of lack of energy. I just want to move my body.. I want to know if it’s okay to do some weight lifting just 3 times a week for an hour, just for my health, while eating enough calories everyday. Any advice?

Hi Elisa your videos are very helpful currently in relapse of an eating disorder so watching your videos soothes my anxiety thinking about recovery especially with calories, food restrictions and weight restored
I've been asking myself something when in restriction or not nourishing your body
can it also effect your psychological side I've notice my mood swings are bad, I have short term memories, and I can't stop thinking about food
Food is my priority everyday I can't focus on task and other psychological mental side
If you can ever make a video one day I would like know I'm worried
    Thanks a lot

Hi Elisa, your videos have been a lifeline for me for the past five months at attempting recovery. I say attempting because even though I have restored weight from an anorexic one, I am still engaging in compensatory behaviors, especially purging. I know this is not real recovery. I do want to recover, and I'm committed to stop purging. My question is, should I stop exercising if I am still purging? Should I consider now, today, the "start" of recovery again because I have been purging so much? I hope this makes sense. I'm very tired, and I'm having trouble even having the energy to exercise when I try. Thank you!

    thank you for this video!
Alice.. i am really stuck in moving a lot.. i did exersice everyday in the gym for a period of time..and in january my relapse was so bad that i needed to stop going to the gyn.. after 2 months i noticed that my exersice addiction was coming back.. but because i didnt go to the gym.. i am now moving a lot on and around my place (on the bike..walking..jumping trampoline) and o noticed that i cant stop it😌
i slowly increased calories from around 600 to now 1000..but the need to move a lot is getting bigger.. i am so afraid to give up and gaining weight..
its so bad to experience that ed mind all of the time.. telling me i get fat.. telling me to go back to a low weight..
    i feel stuck..
hope you will give me some tip.. or can say something to get me calm around it..
do you think that this compensation with moving can cause more weight gain?

How do you know when you can start exercise again if you actually enjoy exercising, like hiking with my friends and dancing? I am at a BMI if 18.7 now and still without a cycle so I know I should rest now, but I don’t want to always be this way. Also, if I am shorter and 32, should I still follow Minnie maid?

I ordered your book, really looking forward to it! My weight is already getting back after just over a week in recovery and I'm so proud (eating more than ever). Do you still think it's bad to go dancing or smth if I respond to my hunger all the time? You have a good point there, I just felt so good after some excercise before I got anorexic :/
Thank you for everything you do, I don't know what would have happened if I didn't find these videos!!

    • @FollowTheIntuition

im so happy to hear you are eating more! :) its really hard to say about dancing since every case is different, like do you have your period, are you underweight or low weight etc. most safest option for recovery period is to rest and rather do some other things that interest you that don't involve any type of exercise and after you feel stronger physically, mentally, and you are recovered you can definitely do activities you enjoy, like dancing. so remember its only recovery period, not to say that you can never dance again :)

Hey Elisa. Do you mind if i ask a question? So I trained in Crossfit and Olympic Lifting the past 3 years and before I committed to full recovery 5 weeks ago. The past year ive been semi recovered but kept falling back in to restrictive eating etc ( my past is of Bulimia and BED and restrictive eating AND over exercise spanning over 20 years) So 6 months ago i cut down on training to 3/4 times a week instead of 6 a week. I also own a horse so ride 3 times per week and i work 40 hrs per week as a restaurant manager so i'm pretty active. 5 weeks ago i stopped exercising completely after finding you and reading your book. The first 3 weeks i was exhausted and ate alot (did minimaud) but the past two weeks my energy is much better, I'm definately getting in 2500+ cals per day. I'm missing training and wondered how deterimental it would be for me to go back to lifting 2/3 days per week. I dont feel like its for compensation I just miss it cos i love being active
