- On this episode we feature the quickest and fastest BMW in the world! The Shop CT brought out their absolutely insane BMW M240 XDRIVE to TX2K24. They set the record for quickest and fastest BMW running 7.9@175. We were able to see what the M240 is all about, Jaz from the shop CT takes us for a ride and things got pretty spicy. We started on map 2 and ended up trying out map 4 (full boost) for the first time on the street... it was WILD! Hope you guys enjoy this one!

The amount of times I heard the word "stock" or "factory" in the parts list on this 1500whp build is crazy. Really goes to show that these B58 cars really are king on the street. The partnership of BMW/Toyota for these engines to make it the new god motor for tuning, the new 2JZ, it fucking worked.
Toyota didn’t do any of the engineering on the b58….

I said "the partnership of BMW/Toyota for these engines..." because Toyota went to BMW and asked for a reliable, bulletproof inline 6 that has the tuning potential to make it the 2020's version of a 2JZ. BMW delivered on that, as they already had the B58 out of the F30 340i's (which was the B58B30M0), and updated it to be stronger while fixing reliability issues (in the B58B30M1 engine). A further update was made for the 2021+ models with the B58B30O1 engine.

Obviously bmw has a great track record of inline 6 performance engines which is why they were chosen. b58 is just the latest and greatest and happens to be in a Toyota lol.

Bro i love my M340 with just a down pipe, i couldn’t imagine that much hp at the click of a button away. These guys are the reason i invested in one before those prices start to sky rocket and you can’t get your hands on one cheap anymore.

~$70k in aftermarket and its not that amazing. ~$30k Motor, $10k Turbo Kit, $10k Transmission, $5k CSF Intake Manifold, +Axles, Fuel Pumps, Exhaust, Tuning, Labor, etc. Put that much into any car and its possible. It is amazing how easily this platform does 9s.
@@shoegum7362 I don’t think you know how big of a difference 7s and 9s are buddy. Most sports cars go 9s easily without much effort. A Downpipe tune E85 720S is easily high 8s to low 9s, a Hellcats with just Bolt ons E85 run high 8 second to low 9 second 1/4 miles.

@@shoegum7362if you work on these cars and build them yourself it’ll still be expensive, about 20k. Motor 5k(parts/machine work + free labor), Turbo kit 3k (Make it myself), Transmission 3.5k (parts + build myself), CSF-X Manifold 5k, Axles 2.5k

not as amazing as its takes $60k to do it. You can do that with any car at that point. Making it to the 7s takes a lot more investment ~$30k motor, $10k transmission, $10k turbo kit, Fuel Pumps, Axles, Tuning. Its amazing tho how easily this platform can hit 9s

With enough money anything is possible. You'd have to build a custom subframe and do a bunch of cutting on the chassis for clearance. The hubs are also different, so you'd have to build a custom front suspension as well.

Plus if I was going to do a comfortable car that I wanted to regularly street drive and not regularly race it, I would rather a 9 second car than a 7 second one.

This 240 is crazy, but it's even crazier the DAZA platform is just as fast if not faster with one less cylinder and stock displacement at just 2.5L😳would like to see IROZ race this 240

@@napsterau6816 an M2 wouldn’t be any faster. That 240 already had a huge turbo and was bored out to 3.2L. An M2 being RWD would probably end up being a lot slower than the 240. The DAZA platform is just insane for drag racing

Still to run at a track should need a roll bar some safety if running in the 7s. A rollover would make this car would make everything unrecognizably

If you also think that the rear fender section of the E30 M3 gives A80 vibes too then sure, otherwise go give it a second look with all 3 cars side by side. The A90 was literally meant to have A80 vibes, and the rear quarter design of the G42/G87 was inspired by the E30 M3

Sounds like the build is similar to the things that Papadakis Racing is doing to their drag B58 motors, but with the addition of stroked crank.

@@martinrodger9565no,maybe a wrecked mk5 could spark the build but I think the awd drivetrain that'd fit would be the old 240i since I think it's close to the mk5s length if anything since the mk5s smaller than it looks. It may par up to xdrive cars ecus but who knows what other gremlins may prop up in the process of that.

It simply doesn't, anyone that thinks it does is stuck in the past and doesn't want to acknowledge that the MK5 looks better, Toyota did very good with the design. The MK4 looks like garbage, just because it has a good drivetrain doesn't make it a good looking car. It might still look fat with a drag pack, but literally all cars look fat with a drag pack, doesn't mean they look good

Alright, lets take a step back here... "just throw in an engine from visconti" ok thats a 25k+ motor...+ the fire-lock hg is like a $2k part.. yea o-ring any block for a special HG and its gonna hold a lot of power for sure. On stock fuel system and ecu, alright, thats pretty sick out of the box.

My x3 m40i xdrive on 66mm turbo/tune kinda heavy but happily gapping hellcats with comfort and good MPG 😂😂😂

Valvetronic holds back this engines badly from making power in 7,8,9 k rpms

That’s a RWD tubed chassis promod tincan and it trapped 216, not 250+. 250+ is 5 second range. This M240 is a stock chassis street car.
That cars got more money in mods than the msrp of the caf LOL! That being said for what say 100k including the car its money damn well spent!!!!
