Markiplier has played so many horror games he can make anything sound scary. He has the slightly ominous voice down, plus just the way he tells stories is so unique.
Also, something to note is his INCREDIBLY intimidating evil laugh when he try’s to, like his normal laugh is all goofy but oh LORD is his evil laugh spooky.

The funny thing about this, is that it fits so well with an actual interrogation because with chatty suspects, the detectives play buddies with them, they have to laugh and agree with them to keep them talking, if you check interrogations like this, is like a group of old friends catching up 😂😂😂😂

If you think this was crazy, you should see the Legend of Barbara animation, which is just animated off of clips from them playing Uno.
The fact this animation just turns Mark and Thomas into psycopaths is both really chilling and very funny...
But also, I wouldn't put it past them doing crazy crap like this as kids.

Kids do not take it well if they feel like they did something wrong while also being called out by an adult. He was not bullying him he had just not known. He wasn't given enough time to even help the kid in the first story cause he ran off searching for help (i dont think random kids that you just met could help you with several splinters.)
The animators are so talented! This flashes between the rabbit and the boy, the monsters that appear as mark and his brother grow up, the poster of two missing children when mark says it’s the same kid? My god they’re talented, definitely checking them out!

This is a god-tier animation. The story was already hilariously dark, but holy hell, this elevated it far beyond amazing.
The animation is SO good! It's amazing to see how they turned his normal laugh into something that makes him sound insane (Which he definitely is NOT). This is the horror movie I want to see!

That second story with the ice really feels like it partially inspired "Damien" for WKM. The art really hammers it home with how the artist drew the "victim" in the water and how they climbed out. I just realized that and thought it would be cool if that's true.
Mark usually has a sort of goofiness in his voice when he tells his stories, but the visuals really help sell the sinister tone. I love it.

I always laugh when he does that. He completely takes the fantasy and horror of what he is recording and makes it unexpected, internal, unexpectedly hilarious; kind of like himself. Yes! I love that he often connects with the absurdity of ambient, foreign sounds embedding our psyche and lending Nick Baker McKenzie's life-long indie lullaby to an altered world for a set. Those tracks took time to perfect, making sure each timbre came to life when slowed to a crawl; darkened passages threatening with a touch. This has to be the best animated yet. They had so much attention to detail in each scene. The animation of mark’s laughs alone were so unsettling.
The laughs were edited a bit from the original audio, that's what makes it so good
I love how unhinged they made Mark look in the interrogation cell scenes. That's just perfect. Totally casual calm voice, but the grin and laughing and wild-eye...
The animations were so cool! Those and Mark's laugh combined made the chills run through my body so hard god damn
What I really love about this is that in context it paints Tom as being just as much of a dangerous psychopath as Mark. Clearly it runs in the family.

Its amazing how visuals and ambience can truly shift the tone of a story, when I first heard it on distractable it was funny. This was truly unsettling, kudos to the animators and sound designers it was awesome

I really appreciate the little flashes of the saw, the rabbit, the spinning blades, Mark and his brothers smile and the others, really shows how the mind of a serial killer can warp the view of the world around them into something twisted and nightmarish. Five stars for the animator(s) 👏🏻

I love how the animation really gives this story a LOT more sinister vibe, even with Mark's calm and innocent voice trying to explain everything he remembered (just really forgetting if the kid was the same in both stories or not)
I love how they made this overly dramatic. Listening to it on the podcast made it sound like a comedy. This made it a lot... lot darker. I love it!
