Technically he was trying to say Gloucestershire - which makes it even worse lmao
i know i'm from gloucester and found that very funny XD
As a resident of Gloucestershire (pronounced Glos-te-shear) allow me to add some extra details here:
Yes, the Cheese Rolling is a thing we do every year. It's a tonne of fun, even if some people do end up in people's back gardens when they roll down the hill and don't stop at the bottom.
Also, it was official until 2015, then it was banned on health and safety grounds. So now we just turn up and do it anyway, just without an ambulance.
Welcome to Britain.
Edit: changed pronunciation since people pointed out shire on its own emphasises the I sound rather than the ir sound.
Local to Brockworth at the foot of Coopers Hill here! - it's a ton of fun!
But i would help in the pronouncing of Gloucestershire as the "Shire" is always said differently by Americans, a slight adjustment: "Gloster-Shear" (like shearing a sheep) 😁
@@omegasupreme6384 that's fair. I forgot shire is pronounced weirdly on its own. My bad.
Glos- te- shire? Glo -ster - sheer

Markiplier has such great voice work in this, I need to see him play in a Dungeons and Dragons podcast at some point. Can you imagine the hilarity that would ensue?
I mean, he already has a plethora of characters to choose from. I think Just Roll With It might be able to get ahold of him, being the most internet-savvy D&D podcast to date, but Mark has spoken about potentially working with Matt Mercer in the past if I'm not mistake, so he could pop on CR as well.
@@itwasidio1736 WAIT, HE HAS!?
I won’t lie, I heard some Mercer in how Mark talked during this video, so that would be EPIC. I doubt it’ll happen during Campaign 3. But maybe a guest in C4, or a One Shot.
God can you imagine Mark as the DM? How creative and absolutely chaotic it would be!?

Amazing animation!
Mark calling the knight a "sheriff" is totally unsurprising but also completely unexpected.
You do know that sheriffs were literally a thing created in feudal times to act as law enforcement for the king, right? Sheriff is the right word, more correct that "knight" that's for sure.

I didn't expect for Markiplier to release a fully animated video, but I'm all for it.
There is a bunch, all from the podcasts
A lot of animators are fans of his and his content makes for good animation material so he posts their videos on his channel to reach more people

"You didn't pay the cheese tax" is a completely normal title for anybody who watches Mark's videos.

wait mark started by asking do you know what cheese racing is, then ended by saying " this is cheese rolling"
so.... what is cheese racing then?
It's similar to what Tyler described in the beginning: Cheese-rolling or cheese-chasing (which I can only assume is what he's referring to) is when you roll a cheese wheel down the hill and the first person to catch up with it and grab it wins.
@@crusatyr1452 ah, ok cool thanks :)

i love how that isn’t even cheese rolling, it’s a celebration where you roll down a hill drunk 😭
Well, there ARE events where cheese wheels are rolled down hills somewhere. I just can't remember where and when, but I'm sure it's an annual thing.
(Just looked it up, it's a bit of both, a Double Gloucester wheel is rolled and people roll after it to race it, so I remembered it bit wrong, but Tyler wasn't too far off haha)

As a Brit, I can tell you that this is a real thing and almost no one understands why we do it but it's absolutely hilarious. Most people just watch, get drunk, eat food and hang out while it goes on. Oh and it only happens in very specific places like Gloucestershire (pronounced gloss-ter-shire). It happens in a few other places, mainly ones with a long history of dairy farming and agriculture, it's not something you will find in a city. But yeah good fun and good video 😊
