- Since we last saw you guys, Ted has only had 1 day off among his long stretch of 12 hour shifts. We're still in the time of year when 12 hour shifts mean you're leaving and coming home in the dark, which doesn't leave much time for outdoor projects after work hours. So no treehouse update today.
Because this is how his schedule worked out, Finley and I capitalized on it and decided we would tackle giving her room a makeover. Ted and I have been promising her this room "glow up" since her 13th birthday.... back in December. (Sorry, Finley! 😬) But, better late than never, right?
So Finley and I got a good start on it while Ted was working, and when he finally ended his long stretch, he helped us finish up a few projects that we had envisioned for her room.
We'll be back up in the pines next week, but until then, we hope you enjoy this weeks episode!

Fin's room turned out great. It seems to reflect her a lot. I can see Jen has a hard time seeing her become more independent but also that Jen loves that she's growing into herself. The two edged sword of parenting. Hope Fin enjoys her new space.

Great transformation. I see clifford was on quality controll again. A freshened bedroom makes for a more comfy room. We did our master recently and it so much better.

The room turned out great!! We have a few of the same pens in my dept. Absolutely loved the healthcare workplace jokes and puns. Ted would fit right in at my workplace. I think every facility must have "that ER doctor". Drives me crazy

Finleys room looks awesome. When l commented on FB l was just starting to watch the video. Never thought pallets would work for a frame and a step. So much more room with the dresser in the closest really opened the room up. The desk was another great idea along with painting the oak trim, the room is so much brighter. Everything you changed in the room really improved it a lot. Ted should have been a comedian the last outtakes with the skeleton cracked me up. You guys are the best and l always look forward to your projects.See you next Saturday.

One of your faithful nutty cones dropping in to see what you're doin' today 🌲 First of all, a belated Happy Birthday to Finley; 13 is a special one for sure! I must say, Finley certainly had a clean room. When the closet opened I was surprised at how neat and organized it was. I wished my kids could have done that in their youth 😉. I liked this video very much, absolutely gorgeous scenes at the start. I really like the rug that was chosen for the room it's very attractive and goes well with the overall look of the finished room. It made a big difference putting the dresser in the closet and Finley made a good call on painting the closet doors and trim. It makes a huge difference in the room and the room turned out so nice! Of course Clifford was there to supervise and help out occassionally😉. It was quite a complement when you asked Finley if her room turned out as she had envisioned, and her response was, no, it's better. That choked me up for a second; moments like that as a parent are very special. You may have done a little head butting in the process of the transformation, but I'm confident it further strengthened the strong connection and relationship you two have already. Good Morning, Larry! I will certainly pass the birthday message along to Finley! Haha she has a LOT of stuff that she's collected over the years, but admittedly, she does keep it really tidy. Thankfully she was willing to pair down and we were able to donate a lot of her stuff.
Funny thing is, I bought that rug for the dining room at the rental house but didnt like it in there and Finley asked if she could have it for her room, so it worked out perfectly! it really does look great in her room! Overall, Finley Is very happy with her room and we all love how it turned out!
Clifford is always the bestestest helper! I cried when I read that last segment to Teddy for the first time before filming it. It was an emotional week for sure.

Such a cute room. Great job. Many times I have painted one side of something and had to wait to paint the other side. The triangle attachments would be good to have.
The triangle attachments really did work out perfectly! The ones on Amazon you can actually stack though. So if you didn’t have enough space you could really get a lot of painting done in a small area. We hope you have a great week Jill!❤️😊🌲

Finley's room turned out awesome! I'm glad you shared that there was some head butting along the way. It's that way for all of us. I helped my step-daughter build a bed frame out of pallet wood and it was a chore to say the least. It turned out great, but there was some head butting along the way. I really love the design pattern on the accent wall. The clips of Ted at work with his bony friend were hilarious.
It really did turn out awesome! We were on the struggle bus for a long time! But we were able to get off of it and it turned out beautifully. The pallet wood is such a good way to make a cheap but functional bedframe! But it does take a little bit of work! Finley loves her new accent wall!

Although the fruits of everyone's labor can't always be easily discovered like beauty shots when editing a video they are a blessing when found whenever that may be. We did have a really hard time working together, which honestly surprised both of us! We did get it together and everything turned out great but I just didnt want to set the expectation that it was all lovely and fun and wonderful... because it wasn't. Loved the way the closest doors turned out. Especially liked the way you painted them, I had never seen the triangle attachment so you didn't have to wait for paint to dry to flip and paint opposite side. Really nice job Finny. Jenna and Ted.😊

Haha this is exactly what she wanted! She had been begging for a pallet bed so she could put lights and books in there. All of her inspiration photos were of pallet beds and she landed on this design. She helped Ted make it, put it together and get it sanded. She absolutely loves it. 🤍
