Today I’m finishing up and revealing the dining room in my 1929 Spanish home! I truly can’t believe that just 18 months ago, my offer was accepted and 6 months after, I moved in. I still haven’t lived here a year yet but It feels like home. The dining room was an important room for me because in my previous apartment, it was where I edited, ate, took calls, crafted and so on! I wanted this room to feel warm and inviting, like you’d never want to leave!

The iron basket piece looks like an umbrella holder you have near your entryway. In a more rainy climate it is a very useful piece. But it looks beautiful here in your dining room. I'm warming up to this spanish style!

Love how the sconces provide soft up-lighting.
The shoe molding adds a great finished look to your base molding. I’m glad you color matched the paint. No need for a contrast color in this home. Looks great 👍🏻
The less chunky piece along the wall is a nice departure from the other furniture pieces and creates a nice balance. The area rug pulled everything together and grounded the room… connects well with the oversized art piece too.

When you start out on a room makeover, I must admit that your vision can elude me. I either think it's going to be too dark or feel heavy and the reveal always proves me wrong. It comes out classy, comfortable, and welcoming. You have made me re-evaluate how to be a bit bolder in putting pieces together in my own home. That chandelier totally made the room! It's perfect. I've always loved that table and the chairs are so cool. I also think that the branches totally made the room as well. The cluster of ashtrays was really interesting. I've never seen anything like that before.

Handy tip for another time - paint the base boards before you put them on, then come back and spot fill and spot paint over the nail heads. Much easier, no taping or worries about the floor. Room looks amazing.

I LOVE this room pretty much unreservedly! I'm glad you chose to stick to your guns about the bookcase. That table and your chairs are so rich and heavy they need something lighter weight in the room, but still a sizable piece to keep the scale right. And you found the exact right thing!!! That very adjustable console table is fabulous and complements the dining table and chairs perfectly. And the massive iron light and tapestry? From a "dream of that room" kind of perfect! Like if you had a dream of that room that was exactly right.
The fabric uplighting sconces were a big no for me initially, but as the room took on its furnishings and you added in your all your personal touches and the finishing pieces, they grew on me until I sort of liked them! I do think I'd want to look for something very similar in size and shape but made of a metal base with slag glass and hardwired to a dimmer switch to replace them. TBH, I don't think they match in terms of quality. At least not visually. Otherwise, it's a perfect room (how many times can I say"perfect"? 😂). In my opinion, it's one of the best - if not THE best - room you've done!

I don't even know where to start with how beautiful this room is. I love everything. The lighting, furniture, rug, tapestry, and decor are in such harmony. Like a beautiful song.
The piece down low in the bookcase reminds me of an umbrella holder. Back in the day, proper ladies and gentlemen didn’t go out into the rain without their trusty umbrellas.

That tapestry is a thing of my dreams! Beautiful! I also love that your home uses such strong masculine pieces (the wrought iron, dark browns, etc), but it still feels soft and comfortable.

I used to watch you style rooms and when you would hold up pieces and tell where you plan to place them, I’d sometimes say “no no no they’re too large (or small). Then you would place them and, of course, they would be perfect. Now when I see the process and can’t visualize what you’re doing, I’ll start to say “no no….” and then I relax and say “Oh nevermind. Its Drew! It will be perfect!” And it is! Love your creativity.
When you were flipping thru the rugs, I said, I like that one. That is the one you chose. I want that rug!

This is my favorite room so far. I love how you can see the beautiful coffee bar through the archway. The chandelier is absolutely gorgeous, as are the sconces and the wall hanging. There is not one thing that I don't like. You are awesome!

Hello :) I think I know what the iron thing is, that you said you didn’t know what it is. It is for umbrellas. You put it on the ground next to the entry door or your wardrobe and you can put wet umbrellas in, so they don’t drip all over :)

Honestly I just love the gay vibes! I've followed you for a really long time and I love your style and approach to projects. It's also nice to feel represented, CZcams spaces that aren't centered around queerness (like queer channels etc) are usually very cishet and it's nice to find my community blended with an other big part of my identity which is interior design ❤🏳🌈
