- E! Network special on the life of Vincent Price. Part of a series focusing on the controversies of various Hollywood celebrities, this might be one of the least scandalous Mysteries and Scandals ever produced. Still an entertaining half-hour special on the life of the one and only Vincent Price.

I saw an interview he did late in his career and said some thing like: When the romantic lead goes bald but he is still kissing the 20 year old Ingénue, the audience rolls their eyes; when the action hero gets fat and is still knocking out stunt men-with one punch-the audience laughs; but when the villain gets wrinkles he just looks more evil.
You know he would of course made a great villain in the Bond movies guess he never asked or which one my guess is Doctor No but maybe that is typ casting but as Egghead in Batman he was just very funny but that was him I never imagine him appearing in a comedy role or working with Stan & Ollie but he might of?
And he is right!
Vincent was a brilliant actor. Loved his voice and mannerisms.
One of a kind!
Wait, he didn't get paid for his Thriller rap? That's the best part of the record!
Jack-0 was a cheat
@@syby1112 someone else pointed out that Vincent Price wanted to do it for free. So Michael Jackson was not a cheat. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if Jackson had insisted on paying even after Price refused, but Price still refused.
Eddie vanhalen didn't get paid for his guitar solo on the song beat it
@@syby1112
Don’t call him that.
Vincent Price was a very complex and talented actor. He was a true artist, and he was also a helluva cook, especially in his later years. One of a kind. He had no equal.
Vincent Price, is truly one of the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!
Yes
I treasure my Vincent Price cookbook he and his wife wrote. Autographed, too!
DO NOT EVER SELL THAT. YOU HAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY AND A LITTLE BIT OF MR. PRICE...
That's awesome! Where did you meet him to sign it?
That is so awesome you have that!!! So envious!!!
I met him when I was all of 15 years old. A kind soft spoken gentleman. He has always been a favorite. Brilliant performer and artist.

That's fantastic. I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about Vincent.
@@drgangrene I know! Why is Dennis being a party pooper? 🙄
He just had that voice that drew you in. It reminds me of Orson Wells. I love his voice too. :)
He had class.
One of my favorite character actors. He was handsome when young. His melodic voice would comfort and haunt you forever.
Man, do I ever get fucking sick & tired of all the extreme snobbery towards horror films & the horror genre! That snobbery was on full display in this episode, especially with Dennis Hopper's comments about how he couldn't understand how Vincent Price had fallen to "that level". The man is a true icon because of all the awesome horror films he started in. Actors can be great, without always starring in dramas all the damn time!! Price was an amazing talent & one of the earliest true horror icons. I will never be ashamed of being a horror fan, & if I was an actor, I would gladly take roles in horror films! This was an entertaining episode, but I can't believe they left out Diary of a Madman. I consider that to be one of his best.
Thanks Dr. Gangrene, for your endorsement. 😊😀😁😃😇
Well put, Brandon. I wonder if that snobbery toward horror films is as strong today. It's still there, I don't doubt that, but to the level of disdain horror seemed to be regarded in the 1950s and '60s? Maybe. I love great films, and many of those great films are horror. Some are Westerns, some are Sci-Fi, etcetcetc.
@@theonlyguiltymaninshawshan7909 l think it was jealousy, plain, and simple, every era,has conjured up ahole circles to keep the true talent at bay... what else have they?😉
Well said indeed, my good boy!!!!!! 😉🤗👍🏼
Thanks!! Lol, i'd forgotten all about this post. Another good one Mr. Price did, that wasn't mentioned on here, was Madhouse (1974).
I never lend my ear to critics for me Vincent Price is on top of his profession and as I always say genuine artist, perfected any thing he did
Absolutely, undeniably a national treasure.
My favorite Price work was the Dr. Phibes series. Hands down. The story lines were excellent and he was just great in every one.
Loved his over the top acting & voice.
I love his voice and he was a brilliant actor. I listened to some of his classic radio shows and they were delightful. I've always had a soft spot for him.
One of a kind!
Great actor loved him in Laura and Dragonwyck so handsome and that voice.
Loved him in comedy of terrors. Get the feeling there was a real giggle between takes. Fantastic cast
Back in the 1970's he hosted a murder mystery show on PBS. Those intros with his excellent voice always drew me in & sometimes were more outstanding than the show itself.
I just loved this one!
Vincent Price was a Human being an Amazing ACTOR!
He always KEPT his sense of
HUMOR! There will never be
anyone like Him, again.
Brilliant all round guy. Not many of them around now.
I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I always wanted to. He was a wonderful actor and made my childhood great. To this day I still have most of his movies I'm still hunting for 2 but I still enjoy them. The Pit and the Pendulum always be my number one favorite The Raven's number 2
Oh I loved him💓💞🥰💕 may he rest in peace. He's the Best. He use to scare the hell out of me. He's very classy and handsome back in the day.💕🥰💞💓🌹
Lovely son and daughter, she looks just like him, love his voice in M.Ks Thriller album also!
I heard Thriller on the radio driving in to work the other day and was thinking how wonderful it was to hear his voice on the airwaves.
Would love to find out what he was payed for his voice track by Jackson, nobody else could have done it 😱😈
RIP Christopher Lee and Vincent Price
with dear Peter cushing,too
Price had fabulous presence with a great voice and knew precisely how to use both.
The narrator said it best Dr. ... Vincent Price "a real class act" ... another outstanding video, thanks for the upload
I have all the Edgar Allan Poe's on dvd..watch em October every year..love them..
Loved Price's intro to Black Widow on Alice Cooper's Welcome to my Nightmare.
Mr. Price was my childhood crush! 😍💞
Me too !!! :)
Lol... You might be a satanist if...
Vincent Price was my adult crush from late 1973 to mid-1978, and I've been a fan of his since then.
Yeah I don’t blame u he was a hottie and his voice was just a knock out loved his voice I could listen to him all day long
I've watched most of his movies, a great person and actor. I remember also watching him on Disney's read write and draw. Truly missed
Vincent Price was awesome at horror movies
Vincent Price is with out doudt the finest actors on the big screen his craft of playing role was the master piece that and his voice left a legacy for fans of his most famous movie work is the best and brilliant actors of any decade. Vincent Price actor, artist and chef he was a incredible chef saw him use a dishwasher to cook some fish strange way to prepare food but that's Vincent Price and he often did unusual films but they in turn made him a icon in chilling movies or even television but I guess its those classics he'll be really remembered for along with his vocals and looks. Vincent Price RIP
How can Dennis Hooper, make a statement about how Vincent, could fall to a level of doing horror? Was Dennis mad? We remember Vincent but; who is Dennis? Actors act, to get paid and for the art! Vincent's voice in Michael Jackson's music video; was iconic! His voice was hauntingly gorgeous! He left us to soon!
Years ago, I had heard that Vincent got paid $1Million for his voice in Thriller! If not, they should have sued for for back monies owed to him! This should be investigated! 🙄
@Bob Sebring So true!! Hooper should have taken care of himself! Worrying about Vincent! Hollywood is a crowded place! Everyone wants the top rolls and cream of the crop positions! You just can't make everyone happy! They have to put out what the public want and what they are interested in! There is also some Good B-rated Movies!!
Vincent Price, like Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, was a tremendously nice fellow. Now that all three are gone, this world is horribly diminished.
Why demonize a great actor? What purpose is served? Judgments are opinions and you can bet your bottom dollar that judgments never go away quietly. I remember Vincent as multifaceted at his humorous best.
I didn't notice any demonization.
I believe he was referring to the extreme snobbery on display in this episode, towards Vincent's horror film career.
He's an icon for cult horror fans. Much admired still. No one disparages his work in this either.
I met. Mr. Price in Detroit while he was doing "Diversions and Delights," his one-man show based on Oscar Wilde. (Naturally, I still have the signed program!) An elegant gentleman and a truly great actor. See "Dragonwyck" for a perfect example.
Vincent Price, one of the truly great ones in my book!!!👍😷
Norman Lloyd, who is interviewed here, is the world's oldest working actor, as of this writing, he is 106 years old.
Amazing!
He died in May 2021 at 106. RIP.
YES INDEED VINCENT PRICE WAS THE TRUE HORROR MAN I JUST LOVED HIS VOICE! RIP TO AND ICON!
The man was a true professional!
Indeed he was!
1:30 Vincent towered over people at 6'4" tall.
I loved Vincent Price 🥰 thanks for sharing
Vincent was the greatest of horror stars, “The Mask of the Red Death” ✅🔥✌️😎
He could read a grocery list and be up for an Oscar.
Agreed
He guest-starred in an episode of The Snoop Sisters (Helen Hayes & Mildred Natwick). The episode name is A Black Day for Bluebeard. You can google it and find it for free on You Tube. I own all 5 (the Pilot & 4 episodes) and each episode is so fun to watch!!!! LOL I can remember when it aired (barely-it aired in 73-73 and I'm a 66 baby 😉) Look up the series for Mr Price and the other guest stars (including Alice Cooper!!!!) so much fun!!!! Thanks Mr Price!!!!!
I was just talking about this episode with someone today. Great series, and fun like you said. I reviewed it in this video (part of a series where I reviewed every Vincent Price film) czcams.com/video/LHqxxbfwnwQ/video.html
He was such a big part of my childhood. Thank you Vincent❤️
No mention of his one man show on Broadway and tour as Oscar Wilde
Love love love!! Thanks!
This was one of my favorite shows in the 90’s! I never missed an episode!
They didn't mention 2 of his best Horror Films, the realism of "Witchfinder General", and the camp Shakespearean "Theatre of Death". He lit up everything he was in. Could do pathos like the very best. R.I.P Vincent Price. 🎭🎨👌
i saw vincent price on a tv show
being interviewed he was a gentleman such class
really nice guy such a shame the so called talent of today
doesn't learn from vincent price
A one of a kind
Vincent Price was a great actor and a brilliant human
In addition to all his movies, Vincent Price appeared in an episode of “The Muppet Show” during the late 1970’s.
Yes indeed. Great episode!
he also did a Christmas special with red skelton, if you can believe that. my parents had the dvd for years. I think it was made in mid--1980's.
He was also on The hilarious house of Frankenstein.
@@drgangrene ❤💕
What?! Absolutely no mention of him on "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein" TV series in the '70s?
Love Christopher. lee too
I was scared a many times from this man...............great actor very handsome so smart good old days when actors has so much more than acting skills.....had a personality, today they are so boring.
There was none better
As a kid I just saw the horror movies. It wasn't until years later, via TCM, I realized that the early half of his career was really A-List.
I always like when Price says "What´s the meaning of this?" And the three Hollywood horror actors is Basil Rathbone, Vincent Price and Christopher Lee. What links these great stars together???
All of them have acted with the great actor and Moviestar Errol Flynn.
You have excellent taste sir truly excellent
@@carolthomson4705 Thank you. I’m flattered of you kind words.
I love Vincent price. Master of horror. Best actor ever. God bless him
He was born May 27th not the 11th same day as Christopher lee and Peter cushing on May 26th
Fantastic actor, very talented..I remember him scaring the crap out of me in 'The Witchfinder General'...what a guy..R.I.P Vincent!
I liked him in House of Wax.Tony
I have numerous of his horror movies. I just love him.
Vincent Price was such a true artist in the best scene of the word. His dialect was so perfect. I'm so proud he is from Missouri as I am.
I'm 17 years Old but I don't care about this. Vincent Price is the Best actor on earth ❤❤❤
Agreed 100%
Love those dr phibes flicks
His voice was very distinctive. I remember as a child seeing the House of Wax which scared me but later as an adult found it to be a really great movie.
House of Wax is one of my very favorites of his!
Major long time fan of Vincent Price… always!! ❤️🔥❤️💖👏🥰🎉💝💥😍
I agree with you Brandon 100%. Show a few scenes from Diary of a Madman. But warehenever it's mentioned in bios about Vincent, it's often panned! I also think it's one of his best! Also, check out Twice Told Tales (1964). Some of my favorites are House of Wax, House on Haunted Hill, The Fly, and the underrated The Bat and The Last Man on Earth. Also, in countries such as England, horror movies are taken more seriously and with more respect!
This guy was in a class of his very own.
I remember him as “Vincent Van Ghoul” in “The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo!”
My favourite memory of Vincent Price was from a Canadian children’s television series The house of frightenstien.
No matter what this man did l wanted to see. Even put his obituary in my family album. I'd love his movies since the age of 10 .Thank for the sleepless nights Sir .We miss you.
Vincent was always thought of as a horror film actor but they were only a small part of his film career-he acted in a wide range of films during 30s-50s and was skilled in areas outside films,he was a very articulate man his film Theatre of Blood showed his potential as a Shakespearean actor(I remember a quote from a mag which said "Vincent Prices King Richard are worth the cost of admission alone!)
At 3:47 he says Vincent Price was born May 11th 1911. Wrong, he was actually born May 27th 1911
Good catch, that was a definite mistake on their part.
Truly great actor . He will be missed .
I met Vincent Price in So.Bend @ Century Center. He is a very nice man . I got his as autograph.
THE BEST IN HORROR - i thk Mj did him wrong by NOT paying him for thriller......i thk Vincent help micheal make that song a hit .....
I love Vincent Price!!!
Vincent Price appeared in two The Brady Bunch episodes!..those ones in Hawaii.
Those are fun
I Miss This Show
i remember Prices poems on the Hilarious House of Frightenstein kids show
He also had a line on an Alice Cooper record.
A true great , utterly irreplaceable.
Vincent is an American icon.
Theatre of Blood ,Dr Phibes and Dr Phibes Raises again .Just brilliant .
Vincent price never got paid for voicing on the thriller album Michael Jackson and yet it's his voice that made it dark and scary for the track...
Vincent Price was one very classy guy. Rest In Peace.
He was on the Hilarious House of Frightenstein.
Yep. Pretty awesome recurring cast member for a horror host show!
Yes, and he could cook.
Wow that makes him even more dear to me
I thought E! saved its Mysteries and Scandals series for those with sad endings....
I saw vincent price in night gallery tower of london and that fly
I liked him as EGG Head in batman
Witchfinder general 🥰
He never was buried next to Coral... I always wondered about that. Does anyone know why that was? Was he wanting to save money? Curious, and I haven't been able to uncover an explanation.
Nicholas!!!!!
He worked with Alice Cooper before Wacko Jacko!
Rude much?
I love Mr Price. I considered him a wonderful actor period. Hell l thought he thought he was British tell l was 50. Im 70 now still love 💘 movies 🎥.
Yep. He was terrific!
what good soul of person may he rest in peace
