    Excellent, You Sir know the realities of life dealing with coated boards. Most are used in advanced electronics. Thank you Kind Sir , Marc W, Siegel

    Back in '82, Pace had many tools which I had used, for example The Vacuum desoldering, the Cir-kit; Pad and track repair, the Gold "fingers" edge board re-plating machine. Very convenient and easy-to-use.

      @@andrewmusisi7147 I guess it still exists. It's been 40 years ago since I first used their products.

    Where did the world that produced this type of products disappear to. I know Pace Worldwide is still around. but now a days all I see is junk for sale. I was in business for many years before I new about Pace. I have gone through many Wellers and have Metcals and Weller WHA 3000V now. haven't got a Hakko because I just don't like the color on my bench. I want to tell you what I been working with so you know I might know what I am talking about. I finally got a PRC 2000.though,Metcal and Weller are not bad. But Pace is a different world on its own. Now a days working with anything else other than pace for me is like being in a room full of Smoke and I am looking for O2.That is what Pace is in the PCB repair industries O2. No joke .

    Apparently so. On pace's website, a press release dated 06/26/2013 says "Paul 'The Weatherman' Anthony" is "re-signed" and will make future presentations. I did a web search on Paul Anthony and apparently he's still very active. He even has a LinkedIn page.

    Several manufacturers actually do, especially ones that are certified "ESD Safe." One manufacturer is "Menda." As a disclaimer, this is NOT an endorsement of Menda and their products. I have used them because my supplier stocks them.

  • @scottkludgedorsey4805

    Does the original 16mm film of this still exist? You could get a modern transfer straight from the film to HD and it would look a whole lot better.... this is such a great training aid that it seems a shame that all that is available is a terrible 480p transfer.

    Just casually using xylene and Freon.... Don't mind me!

    • @sholimz
      @sholimz Před 5 lety

      You are right, casually. I remember in 1982 we were using freon and Triple 1.1.1. without any care in the world. Used them for cleaning rosin in big tankfuls for the Branson Ultrasonic Cleaning machines. We were so negligent and I wonder how much we have breathed in. Good old days.

    @4.00 how do they know what part needs to be removed or repaired if the conformal coating prevents initial diagnoses?

    • @Frank-bg6xz
      @Frank-bg6xz Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on the circuit. I repair boards potted in epoxy and based on the symptoms and my experience 9 times out of 10 I can diagnose the board based on these two things.

      Sort of. Actually trying to decoat a 3 phase inverter used to drive a bldc motor blower for a bus. Effectively the same type of motor that you're working with, and sale driver board just high power.

      Here because the receiver leads snapped off the esc for my 1/10 stadium truck. Gotta get through the waterproofing before i can solder it. Kinda glad it broke because I found this great resource! Thanks PACE!
