- Tom Giles, Eddie House and Brian Scalabrine offer their instant reaction and analysis to the Celtics 114-94 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the 1st round of the NBA Playoffs.
I liked how Tatum stood up immediatelly and made the free throws .
That was him making a great point. Awesome to see
I love how his brother JB immediately stood up for him
right, I need him to do that every time . regardless if the ref blows the whistle
Jaylen Brown always backs up his teammates, got so much respect for that guy
Love seeing JB have JTs back
Heat: dOn'T lEt Us GeT oNe!
Celtics: Okay we'll give you one quarter.
Caleb ran right at Tatum, that was blatant.
Good call Scal.. that Caleb hit was sus af
The Heat culture is playing dirty.
Yup. This is why i wanted the heat to play someone else. Hopefully we end the series soon with a sweep and minimize injury risk.
This series has started now you are crying for a fault this is playoff little princess the elbow gettting contact as revange to caleb no one say any shitt just play now we got the L and move on
They been doing this for years did Wade not dislocate Rondo’s elbow ???
@@isramedina7480proper English, motherfuker. Do you speak it?!
@@carlstunna1182 seems like still hurts when your team lost lol
Yeah that was a dangerous play by Martin. It's playoffs so we could see this coming. Tatum is tough so I think he's fine. On to the next game 👏🍀
Martin w a scumbag move.. didn’t even play the ball just went up to hit Tatum
He wasn't even looking at Tatum smh
@@Barry-Strange that’s shit was planned bro. They call a timeout w a min left down 20 points? What do you think the message was? They wanted to take Tatum out of the series
Thats a dirty move. You dont body block someone who's already in the air with momentum.
@@ryanshaw7716I'm a Celtics fan just want to point that out. Caleb Martin has never been a dirty player and he was looking at the ball if you watch the replay. It was bad timing. Heat didn't go into the timeout looking to end someone's career. Come on guys, let's be logical here
@@Barry-Strange that's their "Heat Culture ".
I LOVE BOSTON SPORTS
Heat culture is injuring other teams players and flopping.
Just worried that heat continue to try to take out our players because they know they can’t win the series. Caleb Martin tried to do it early instead of game 7. Dirty players under the guise of “playing hard” and “heat culture”
Playing dirty is heat culture. Everybody's focusing on that air body block by caleb but most missed Bam trucking JB on one fastbreak in the 1st half.
Theres also that hard slap on KPs hand and the illegal screen of Bam on white.
Bam is a dirty, dirty player.
@@TheRobversion1 the Bam on D. White moving screen was so blatant, and right under the ref's nose, it was a disgrace that didn't get called.
the thing with JT, i got a sense the refs were leaning toward checking that and JT just walked to the FT line like: let's end this and go home.
thats Eric Spoelstra
@@vinofuerte833 and he should be banned
@@felipeb.9321 He's thinking Big Picture Goals.
I’m with Scal. It was shady
It wasn't shady, it was blatantly dirty! Miami has always been a dirty team.
Important to note that while the game was out of the reach, Celtics kept Tatum in court to get the last assiste so he could get the triple double. He got and 1 minute later Spoelstra called TO. Mazzulla should take Brown, Porzings and Tatum out. For the next game, please another blowout and sent Xavier Tillman to go after Martin.
yep those guys shouldn't be in, but that was still unnecessary hit by Martin. He had no shot to get that rebound. keep the roster short the same 8 players should be in the next game that's it.
Imagine going on a 26-7 run in a playoff game and looking up like damn we still down 15 😂
The main reason the Celtics won so many championships in the past, especially against the Lakers, was that they knew how to shut down the rest of the Lakers, while resigning themselves to the fact that the likes of Baylor and West were going to get their usual points no matter how strong a defense against those two the Celtics would exert. And the Celtics made sure they played solid offense without too much reliance on outside shots. They made sure they remained dogged on defense, maintained an edge on the rebounds, and got lots of shots in the paint.
They just need to repeat that formula and be consistent at both ends from start to finish.
This isn't the first time Miami does this tho, last year their entire playoffs run consisted of taking out key players of the opposite team. Martin took out Brunson against the knicks, they almost took out Giannis, and then they busted Tatums ankle at the start of game 7 of the conference finals. The league needs to do something about this cause this is just ridiculous.
If Marcus Smart was there a lot of people wouldve got kicked out😂😂
🎉 great job, my babies my Team Love ya ❤go Celtics 💯
Derrick White...smart, athletic, team player...BAM!!
MIAMI HAS PLAYED DIRTY ALL YEAR..NOTHING NEW..
We play bigger and better,,,,, focus is the 🗝️
they need to suspend martin for that cause that was dirty
That play was a "Sweep the Leg!" moment. Why else do that? Other than to take him out of the series... I didn't realize it was right after a time-out. Thanks for the info, Scal.
Twitter is full of clowns saying Martin was pushed my Jrue
Heat chanting after they beat the Bulls we want Boston here we are allday long baby lets fucking go
The heat tried to injure all of our key players except for jrue:
1. BAM trucked JB on a break.
2. BAM with a hard illegal screen on d.white.
3. Jovic slapped KPs hand hard on a close out.
4. Caleb air body blocked JT.
Agreed with scal. If you play ball, you know thats not a basketball play.
The last time a team say they want Boston Celtics was swept that's the nets
Miami is dirty team…. NBA should take action….miami wants to disable Tatum and gang ….they simply can’t compete playing straight and dirty game is the only way to cope
That’s the only time been dirty all season😂
@@mashold9680 did it need to happen another time for attempting to cause injury for Martin to be considered dirty? Because it was blantant.
Caleb should be suspended for that dirty hit while JT was in the air which is dangerous
LeBron would last one hour on the floor and Martín suspended for two games
the slap on his head was funny. he tried so much to sell it.
NBA needs to investigate the martin hit on Tatum. That hit looks intentional!!!! Went after Tatum not even the ball. Who jumps with their ass for a rebound besides Diddy lol dirty in the air hip check.
That looked like on purpose he had no shot at the ball and he threw his hip into him.
Miami coach is also known for playing dirty !,,,,, they call this heat culture
No tf he’s not lmao! Why tf every player just voted him the coach they wanna play for this year?! Even Tatum?!! Shut up
🔥🔥🔥
THAT'S A DIRTY FOUL ON TATUM
JUST WATCH THE REPLAY
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
it was a dirty play which is not suprising given that the heat was pushing and grabbing throughout the entire game
I was surprised Martin wasnt assessed a flagrant..
Maybe because of Tatum's immediate reaction
remember last year they blitzed tf outta tatum and brown. not this year. they doubled tatum a huge amount brown a little but they were able to still operate. you gotta double someone🤷🏽♀️. good thing these weapons showed up💯💯. this gives the jays HUGE help
League needs to look at that
Jaylen Brown ENTER his 1st YEARS PRIMES 💪🔥💪
If Kristaps Porzingis stay healthy this season & consistent 2024 playoffs Boston big chance get #18 banner 💪💪💪
Hope its Denver Boston final.EPIC
I want a both a block and dunk party in Game 2!!! #DONOTGETCOCKY
my thoughts too. Joe has to check the film and find ways to get to the rim, stuff every other shot, plus 1s etc. the Spo play today was to make the Cs win by shooting 3s. game 2 we need to work the paint until they drop.
Martin's play was like a less blatant JR Smith on Al Horford play. Just dirty.
And people are saying that Jrue pushed Martin. Like, what???
i wouldnt say all game..... that 4th quarter had me nervous a little
Scal is right the F on... he has called out Miami's coach and culture - dirty play, deserves fine and suspension (2 or more games?) and it will not work out well for the
Heat... this Celtics team is tougher, more poised, and if Mazulla keeps his cool and doesnt go punch Pat Riley or coach Spo then we'll be movin on to the next round pretty quick here...
Eddie defending Martin?? Tf
They want to take Tatum hurt early
For everyone saying that they would rather face the Heat than the 76ers, this one is for you.
Would JT stick up for JB
Dirty heat.
Tunneled him to try and even out the series. Take Tatum coz we got no butler 😡
That play looks shady af. Martin beelines straight, jumps and curl midair anticipating maximum damage. Anyone playing ball knew that’s not how it’s done.
Jimmy injury is karma for them heat culture...
4:19 like what the heck you think you doing Miami always with the BS. I hope Caleb don't be another Gabe Vincent in this series!
NBA needs to either take a serious look at that play and be on alert, or STFU and let teams hurt each other like in 1980s-1990s. Make your decision.
We need to replace Amina Smith with a woman, who is that dude
Thugs called to hurtvtatum
Miami knows it's going to lose badly, so they want Boston to lose its number one player. NBA needs to take action. This is dirty basketball. It sends a very bad message to the rest of the league if Miami isn't punished for this.
That spo coach is always HIGH as h€ll.
he needs to be banned
Dirty play =heat culture
these commentators they saw the hard foul from caleb martin you are so biased you didn't even see how jrue holiday pushed caleb towards jayson tatum WTF.
MIAMI DESERVE AN APOLOGY here for the biased comments of useless commentators
Caleb Martin Dirty play, how you gunna run into somebody from behind and ram him. that's so wrong
U won by 20
DON'T retaliate.
Took a franchise record 3s to win. MIAMI IN 6🔥
Brian get your facts right! Eric is a better coach than any Boston had. And every player in the NBA wants to play for Spo even Tatum said it. I see why you were a horrible NBA player.
Sorry, Tatum should've not been in the game. Imagine if he really got injured. Mazulla needs to tighten up !!! Smh
You missed the entire point. Luckily the Celtics made their point. And Tatum did exactly and intentionally what he wanted to do.
Where is NBA OFFICIATING. They should ban this player
It's not that serious 😂😂
Martin is crap
Agreed. Caleb is a dirty player.
Heat players are dirty and sore lossers celtics need to play them the same way under cut bam or one of there players and watch how much they cry they mad cause Jimmy out now they trying to take JT out
1. If Spo wanted to injure someone from the Cs, we would’ve done that right on the bubble when we first faced this celtics.
2. IF Spo did want to injure someone, he wouldve asked one of his bench warmers, not one of his starters, to do that for him.
3. do boston media really think that Erik Spoelstra, one of the most respectable coach in the league, someone who is part of team USA’s coaching staff in the Olympics, would tell his player to injure someone who will play for team USA?
How dumb can you go just to instigate something? He’s white 🗑️ to me now.
p.s. are you really that blind not to see that Jrue Holiday pushed Caleb Martin? There’s even an angle on nba live replay that clearly shows Jrue pushed Martin.
That was not an intentional attemp to hurt JT. Scal and Eddie trying to make something out of nothing.
Yea it was. You don’t jump on a players back while he’s mid air! He made no attempt at getting the ball. Just a frustration foul
Can you see?!
