    It looks beautiful, especially all done and set up by the river aka creek ( depending on what part of the country you live in) I live in RV park with a creek AKA river in NV and as I type this, I am looking at my creek and I too plan to be sitting in the water amongst the rock in the next few days during this heat wave we are going to experience... I plan on making an awning or two also, so after seeing the prettiest vintage awnings on face book, I am glad to find your video and I have watched the sailrite video you mentioned.

    • @CampingTherapy
      @CampingTherapy  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks! There is a metal rail that goes from the bottom of the camper, up the sides, and across the top, down to the other bottom corner. In Europe, they use a lot of screen rooms, and over there, that's what they call an awning. They call this a canopy in the UK. My brother cut out a section of the rail, at the top left corner, so I could insert the awning tube there, instead of all the way at the bottom.

    You did an excellent job. It's very nice looking, too. In a week and a half I'll be moving into my newly purchased 2000 camper trailer. It needs a new awning. And right away I knew I would want to make my own homemade awning. I want to pick something in the design that is just perfect for me. When I looked on you tube yours is the only video I found so far on how to make your own...every other one they show how to replace it with premade awnings.
    One question...I think I would get camping weatherproof/ waterproofing spray to spray the whole awning....did you do that with yours?
    Thanks for posting this. I'm going to subscribe and be on the lookout for more of your videos.

    • @CampingTherapy
      @CampingTherapy  Před měsícem

      I did spray mine, because it's not waterproof fabric. I angle my tent poles when it's raining, so there's a dip in the center, and the water runs off. Otherwise , it would puddle, and go through the fabric.

    H- this makes it look very do-able! I have an '86 Serro Scotty and the track is 89" long. How do I figure out how much fabric to purchase if I want to do the valance? thanks!! Susan

    • @CampingTherapy
      @CampingTherapy  Před 11 měsíci

      Do you mean the valance hanging from the awning? My awning is just short of 5x7. You would add the 5' two time, to 7' once. Allow for extra, for seams.
