    You've quickly become one of my favorite channels. So refreshing to have tech videos without annoying, faked over-enthusiasm. If you're ever looking for more cases to review, a Ukrainian company called Custom Mod has a series of SFF cases that look pretty good. I missed the last Velka 3 batch, so I purchased one of their 4.7 liter cases, and given that there were no videos in English about them I think it'd be great if you could take a look at them.

Now I'm running 9700k @5hz, 2070 super with dual Noctua fans. It's working perfectly and looks fantastic. NCASE M1 is really the best overall Mini-ITX case out there.

    I've had an M1 on the way for a month now so this was a risky video for me to watch from a buyer's remorse perspective, and you kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the end 😅
    Thank you so much for all your fantastic videos, by the way. This is my first time trying an ITX build, and every time I was curious about some product or topic I searched CZcams and you invariably had the best video on the subject.
    I've got my system running beautifully quiet on a testbench (thanks to a Kraken X53 with the fans swapped out for A12x25's and an overkill SF750 so that it runs with the fan off) and can't wait to get it to get it into the case.

    I really gatta say thank you OT. Without your videos I don't think I would have been so critical of the cases I considered for my new build. Originally wanted to have something ITX. Unfortunately my needs require a bit more than a single PCI-e lane (vr and game pads and such, needing a PCI USB 3.0 expansion slot). I understand that my Lian Li Dynamic is a far cry from compact and small, it does sit on my desk beautifully, and checks off a lot of requirements that presented themselves to me after watching your vids. She's a biggun, but smaller than other full ATX cases, breathes amazingly well, and is absolutely gorgeous... without costing an arm and a leg. I do plan on building another one for a friend soon, and they won't have the ridiculous needs I have so it will be fun!

I watched your original review and was immediately set on buying it then, and now I'm very happy about the improvements they've made with each subsequent revision. It's keeping my workstation cool and I still have room to put in even more power parts as I have a 120mm aio on my CPU and a slim 240mm rad on my GPU! I've been very pleased with it and I'm sure it'll be my go-to for a long long time.

    Finally some love for the Sliger! They're one of a few breans that is very good in terms of availability. I'll be getting the SM550 and gonna do a semi-passive cooling on the CPU side. I was also looking for Dan A4, the ghost amd Ncase as well but wasn't really compatible with semi-passive build. So, the SM550 is the perfect choice for me, very functional IO, semi-passive possible (They even tested with semi-passive on the GPU side as well), 6 weeks waiting time now but always available to order. Only down side is the look but with semi-passive build I can get the windowed panel which makes it looks a whole lot better and also the functionality of the from IO justify the comprimise in the overall look. I mean it's not great but it's still a good looking design.

    • @LyK0sa
      @LyK0sa Před 4 lety

      Feature wise the Sm580 is about as close to perfect as a SFF case comes for me (280mm rad, 3 slot GPU and space for a pair of 2.5" drives). I just think sliger cases fall short in terms of aesthetics, obviously this is subjective, but if the Sm580 looked like the T1 I'd be picking one up for sure.

    • @thedreamerfifa4322
      @thedreamerfifa4322 Před 4 lety

      joe arrowsmith Its funny how aesthetics are so subjetive, because I like the look of Sliger 560 with double vented panels the most of pretty much all cases. The grey looks amazing on the case imo. For example the horizontal “line” on the T1 triggers me so much and is an absolute deal breaker.

I had to replace the weak double sided tape with my own for the magnetic side/top panels, be careful not to warp those panels when handling, and tell my family not to handle the case by those panels. I bought the Streacom DA2 over a year ago and i love that case. Availability ist pretty good in Germany which influenced my decision. But what really drew me towards the Da2 ist the flexibility of the Case. If I spent over 200€ on a case I want to use it for a very long time and with the Da2 you have a ton of options. Only the Gpu and Mainboard position is fixed (though you can flip those) everything else is completely modular. I love building my own stuff and with the Da2 you have the options to try a lot of different setups and it is really easy to build custom brackets for pumps, fans, or anything. Only bad things are the dustfilters, but I took those out.

    I upgraded from a sugo 13 that I've had a few of and built several systems for others over the last 6 years and a fun fact with the sugo 13 is you can mount a fan with the vent cuts on the top, I'd also recommend always using an sfx psu for it which'll let you do that if you're running a open style gpu cooler. I upgraded to the ncase m1 which is slightly bigger but most importantly supports a 240mm radiator without modification. I've had a sugo 13 with the top cut to externally mount a 240mm radiator for the last 5 years that I've even swapped onto new sugo 13's to maintain that 'feature'.

    I'm rebuilding in a Node 304 just because it fits a DH-15. I wish the build quality was better on Fractals but I really like the fact the motherboard lays flat. mITX should all take advantage of how small the boards are and prevent strain from heavy heatsinks, and eliminating GPU sag.

    Always surprised to not see Sliger SM560 and SM550. Compact footprint, easy to build in, great airflow, and most important: almost always available to buy. I'm using a SM560 for my main pc with i7-9700k and RTX 2080 ti, and the coil whine from my SF600 psu is the loudest noise when gaming. I would highly recommend it.

    For me, the NZXT was my first choice. It’s got a PSU and an AIO preinstalled, with a great warranty. Have to wait for new stock, but i know it’ll come! Plus, no worries about the graphics card’s length or CPU cooling issues either. And the mini screen mods are just so so cool!

    The K39 case on Aliexpress is the v2 version of K39 and it's actually slightly larger than Velka 3, around 5L, IIRC. That enabled room for Alpenfohn Black Ridge cooler which is superior to Noctua L9 that's usually used in Velka 3, so K39 v2 has better CPU cooling at the expense of slightly larger volume (hardly noticeable, really). Also, it can fit modded FLEX PSUs (as in, rigged with modular connectors) that you can find from chinese sellers, those are too long for Velka 3. On the flip side, Velka can fit 2 small fans on the top while K39 v2 can't (but it can have a handle there)...
    SG13 is one of my favorite cases. That little guy can fit a lot in just 11.5L at just $50-60. It's better suited for 120mm AIO in front than air cooler, though it can fit Noctua L12s if you have an SFX PSU, and that's decent. Also, while it's listed for up to 270mm GPUs, it can fit some 280mm or even longer cards but it depends on position of the power connectors...research is needed is you plan on doing that.
    If you plan on getting the NZXT H1, see if they released a vented front panel instead of that glass one first, it kinda chokes the GPU...NZXT messed up a bit there.
    As for the T1, I really wish they added 2 thin rails across the side panels to support the mesh...great case but those mesh panels kinda ruin the feel.

    Thanks for the updated summary and all those terrific previous in-depth reviews!
    I'm currently looking for a small build myself and have these additional cases in the last round:
    1 - Thor mjolnir: they announced that pre-orders start next week
    2 - Nouvolo streck: admit it's a cheaper ghost rip-off. But at least it's available and it seems they did some improvements
    3 - Dan C4: my favorite so far. but still no release date :(

    Not as small but the Cooler Master NR200 really is a amazing case with plenty of room for any building most would do. I have the NR200, RYZEN 5 3600, 32GB OF 3600 ram, 850 watt sfx power supply, RX 6800XT from AMD, 2 120MM Noctua fans on top, 2 140mm fans on side, 92mm Noctua in rear and slim 92mm cpu cooler. Love my set-up but now it's time for planning my next build ❤

    I follow your content every week and I wish this video had some more information like cpu and gpu thermals compared in a graph.
    You say for example that the NZXT case is "best for gaming" but most reviews show that the thermals of the gpu is horrible and that noise levels are equally bad.
    A more in depth video would be appreciated. After all, most people who follow your content and who decide to buy these cases that costs 150-250 USD each are above "casual pc users" and will still want to know how the different cases perform in each category.
    Other than that, great video!

    I started looking for a Velka 3 after watching your review on it but gave up after 2 months. Not buying one from a scalper for 500 dollars. I setted on a Metalfish Swordfish S3. Only comes in a silver aluminium finish but it's cheaper and worked great for my 3700x rtx 2070 build with a pcie gen 4 ssd. I think it's roughly the same form factor too. Took a while to import from from the Metalfish store on aliexpress but absolutely worth it. You should consider reviewing it too.
