- Our new Ryzen 9 5900X editing / gaming build is COMPLETE and it uses the smallest ATX case available for full size GPUs at just 10L in size! Its also designed perfectly for the RTX 3080 Founder's Edition but that doesn't mean lower performance. In this video we discuss the 5900X PC build and all the challenges when it comes to temperatures, noise and airflow in such a compact ATX / ITX case.

Damn, they cramed the Ryzen 9 5900x into an Xbox Series S.
Underrated XD
@@James-wu8nn Add some sides that flare out and it is the PS5.
The series S is like half this size, this is closer to the ps5 in size.
An XBox Series S XL :P
@MrGhost370 It's probably happening.
We need more gentleman design motherboards like this. Majority of high mobos look like something made for 9 yr olds.
[Removes Asus ROG strix mobo in dream build]:(
I wouldn’t say they’re focused on 9 year olds, it’s your preference of not liking how some things look, some people love that stuff and others don’t.
:)
It’s fine if you’re doing a sleeper build. All that black and red doesn’t matter if it’s hidden in beige case from 2001.
@@_alucid_ yeah, fair enough lad. Though as a small business owner looking for a rig that allows me to do digital marketing at the office and game in free time. I love these classy minimalist designs
6:47 That is the best PC building montage that I had ever seen! Great job Eber!
Funny you say that as when I’m watching these videos that’s the at I skip through.
Something about a person screwing in a heatsink in slow motion with fancy blur and background music is super cringy
(But I’m sure I’m in the minority there)
The clip highlights the installation of all principal components in a thoughtful manner, with great cinematography, stellar lighting and pleasing soundtrack. What's not to love?
@@frtariki I guess “stellar cinematography” and fancy lighting and slow motion seems totally over the top and a bit much for screwing a computer together.
Perhaps you're right, that's a bit hyperbolic... But I find it great to see such a mundane stuff as screwing a computer together be shot with so much care
Your right, it's so relaxing even though we all know exactly what he's doing, lol

that's one sweet looking case, so long ive been waiting for a small case that supports full atx but isn't shape like an ugly cube or just straight up MARGINALLY smaller than a full size tower as most seem to be
Ngl this system is genuinely one of the most simplistic and yet still incredibly beautiful AND functional builds I have seen in a long time. It’s ATX yes, but it still feels ITX, it’s a minimalist look both on the outside AND inside! Plus the beautiful Thermalright air cooler and RTX 3080 FE are the perfect show components at the same time. I go from observing Uber expensive water cooling ITX systems etc and then see something like this and it’s a really good change of pace and gives me a lot of hope as a relatively new pc builder that favors both function and design, nice.

Who the hell is asking for RGB RAM with spikes and shit??? Why can't we have clean simple designs in gaming systems? Why does this style have to be relegated to content creators. Honestly there must be a market for this stuff. Am I the only one who wants a clean blacked out build that's compact and is extremely minimal without sacrificing what I already have, for a cheap price!?

@@2KOOLURATOOLGaming no you're not i see so many builds that are like "BLACKED OUT gaming build none of that YUCKY RGB"

airflow management is just perfect.
Great to see Thermalright getting some love, I had one of their CPU coolers nearly a decade back. Silverstone has a good range of Slim fans that can work with this PC.
As does Scythe and Prolimatech. The case can TECHNICALLY fit with that cooler and a 15mm thick fan.
For sure, I used to love Thermalright but it feels like they've become kind of irrelevant in recent years. Noctua has taken over their niche. Really nice to see somebody still using their coolers.
Thank you Gigabyte for deciding to build beautiful motherboards! I will buy one of these next time I build a pc. Please keep this series in your lineup.
A few things:
1) Love that board, just set it up this weekend with a 5950X. The bios it came with was hilarious, no official zen 3 support, but it booted. no clock speed reported, half the RAM detected only, but hey, it let me get in and update, so that's cool. After updating everything works (mostly). PBO is still kinda messed up (like it always has been), but if you use "motherboard limits" it'll go to 4-4.5 GHz all-core depending on the application. Limiting factor is 215A current limit. Also using a 48mV negative voltage offset. Oh yeah 4*16GB 3600 CL16 OCed to 3800 is working as well.
2) Paint the fan!
3) That case looks really interesting, i have an extra ATX board with a 4770K right now, and was gonna sell it. But, if I get this, I can make that an HTPC or something... that could be interesting. I always have room for another SFF case :D
Optimum Tech:
*Can you put a custom loop in the P-ATX V2?*
An ATX in a small form factor is a game changer. Thanks guys.
Very happy to see you guys covered all the technical performance specs inside the case in this video and not just performance numbers. Big 👍🏻

Why no dust filters? :(
@@orCana it would reduce airflow and make the case louder, and not much dust will get into it beacuse of form factor

15:52 - I've never seen anyone's soul crushed like this... because he ONLY has a 3950X lol :D
That added noise from the "extra" fan is not because of differences in the flow rate. But you are right about there being fan interaction that increases the noise. It's actually very simple, and complex at the same time. As the fan rotates each fan blade will push a stream of air. This "aircusion" will follow the fan blade as it makes it's way around. This means that in a stationary spot in the airflow from the fan there will be pulses of air with a higher pressure. Now the fan shown has seven blades. That means that if the fan spin at 1000 rpm then there will be almost 117 "puffs" of air per second. That's to low a frequency to be audible, but there is also turbulence and harmonics that creates sound in the audible range.
Now put another fan in that airflow and the fan blades on that fan will interact with the turbulent air from the first fan in just the same way. As these fans are offset there will be interesting artifacts in the air pressure created, and these will be more audible than if the fan had clean air on the intake. Now if the fan on the graphics card had been located on the front of the card instead of in the back like on the 3080 then the heat sink would have mitigated some of the turbulence and pressure spikes and then the added case fan would have caused a little less noise.
Another interesting thing is that putting a obstruction in front of the intake tends to cause more noise than placing the same obstruction on the other side of the fan.
If a 92 mm fan is big enough you could get a:
NOCTUA NF-A9X14 HS-PWM Chromax
or a
Arctic F9
Feel like the Cryorig C7 Cu doesn't get enough love... only 47mm and it's rated to handle CPU's up to 115 TDP.
Wow what a great little SFF case. Love that copper heatsink, You could paint the fan white that would look good. Great job, Thanks for the video, You ROCK. :)
Thank you, glad you like it!
never thought of a white fan, that would look awesome
"My intense editing workflow." The look on his face is as if he's trying to convince his significant other that he needs the new one even though he doesn't. LOL!
It's the fan from the GPU pushing air through, and the other fan not being in sync with the GPU fan, and thus it's cutting the air turbulence which causes more noise. At least that's what I Think. For air flow to be non disruptive it needs to travel a certain distance from the fan blades to stabilize.
This is EXACTLY the PC build that i dreamed of for Davindi Resolve use. Thank you so much !
I love it when Eber and Mike we're criticising about the build and kinda competing against each other on who's got the better specs. LOL. KEEP UP THE BANTER GUYS!!!!

Then go all out with a 5950x and 3090.
Will it fit in a backpack?
This PC is a work of art. Fantastic choices.
I actually got that same power supply from Microcenter for my last ITX build. That thing is fantastic and totally quiet. My case fans, however... well, they're made for brute force airflow, not silent operation.

Dude, just spray paint the cooler fan in white or black, it will disappear. I actually think the orange looks nice on the build, gives it a futuristic vibe.

Noctua makes there 14mm in black,
"Noctua NF-A9x14 HS-PWM chromax.Black.swap"
They showed footage of it in the video. I think they already know.
and that model number "Noctua NF-A9x14 HS-PWM" is 92mm, not 120
It has been over a decade since I last built an ATX system. It takes up too much space and is too complicated. This seems to solve those issues through efficiency, first and foremost. Bravo! Good work! Nice presentation.

I love the fan, but then the white black and orange is very KTM, and that is what I have as a motorcycle :)
What a gorgeous built! I think the cooler color gives it an add aesthetic to the built. Also items better than RGB (because I hate RGB lol)
Go with a Noctua Redux fan instead. Can use white dampener chroma corners and Grey and white looks super slick.

Maybe look at the Raijintek Aeolus Beta fans. There is also a RGB Version for extra FPS.
Nice to see the i have the option to swap my itx into atx mobo that i have around with the case.
Noctua makes a 92x92x14mm fan that is black. NH-A9x14 chromax black swap.
A light spray painting with acrylic matte black paint would make that fan far less ugly.
I'd find that pretty hard to look at too, even through the case vent.
Probably the first sff build that really is sff and not just an other "thiccc boy".

If you got a problem with the fan color just go with black to match the GPU or a even a light grey Scythe if it needs to be slim.

ALPENFOHN black ridge might be a "cool" replacement low profile cooler
That is true, yes.
I tried to fit my black ridge on my x370 taichi I have lying around and unless you have really short vrm heatsinks you can't fit a 120mm slim fan under it. It won't fit with one on top in this case either and I don't see much point in going with just a 92x14mm fan.
That's a beautiful build guys. I been trying to buy a 5900X since launch with no luck. I may buy this case since I'm getting tired of huge cases.
I always laugh when I see Gigabyte branded stuff of the "designare" line

I really am wanting this case for my entertainment center. Looks like they have horizontal feet on their website too!! Only concern, is I see it there is ZERO dust filtration. Wonder if a mesh filter could be taped onto that GPU area? Wouldn’t look fantastic but you wouldn’t notice from far away. White case looks beautiful but for my HTPC I might want black to match.
Wanting the noctua fan for sound just because I won’t see it anyway. The tan and brown used to bother me but over the years it’s grown on me
I recently upgraded my mid tower, but I have a perfectly good z270 e and 7700k, and spare ram. Soon I’ll upgrade my GPU and my 2080 will move over to the HTPC build. Pop an SFF PSU (even if a full size PSU fits it doesn’t look fun to try lmao) and I think I’m complete! omg! Am i the only one in love with the white theme?
Holy hell that's one of the most beautiful builds I have ever seen!
i have the old asrock M8 case, and i found the exact same thing with mine. This case came with 4x 80mm fans i think they are 80mm... but i ended up removing all of them and achieving better temperatures and much quieter.
I wish there were more thin direct airflow cases that weren't limited run artisan cases that cost $200+. The rvz02/ml08b and node 202 are still probably the 2 best mainstream cases in that form factor and they're from 2015, so I'm glad to see more cases in the same space..
All I want is something like an ml08b upscaled to fit an atx or matx, but still sfx thin.
Also, I'm not sure why nobody has done it, but with a thin case like this, it could still fit case fans if it had sufficiently slanted surfaces. Sure it would be at reduced efficiency, but at least they'd be able to mount.
That's pure art. Thank you guys.
