George was just on another level.
Absolutely, Jay! His intelligence is one of his greatest assets and he gives his audiences credit for sharing that level. He talks to us, not down to us, nor dumbing it down under the assumption we just wouldn't understand. Another great aspect of his comedy is his swearing. He swears profusely, yet he only uses the language to make or emphasize his point. He doesn't use profanity because it's there or for shock value. Everything he says has a purpose.
I saw George Carlin live about the same time this video was filmed. When he did his Seven Dirty Words routine, he finished it by expanding the list to several hundred, just rattling them off the top of his head and not once did he repeat a single word. An amazing performer, who treated his audiences with respect.
More George Carlin heâs needed in this world
its needed here on youtube. fuck
George is one of the best ever. I'm my mind...George was a natural writer that was also naturally funny and inquisitive. So a great mix of skills to combine and produce wonderful stage performance
Most people in my family, across three generations, knows his material đ heâs one of the best and really had his own type of delivery!
Never stop laughing Jay, youâre helping the world in your own small but significant way đ
This is probably one of the oldest Stand Up clips that still gets genuine laughs today.
he was on og, richar pryor too.
You nailed another reaction. I agree with your analysis about his comedy and delivery. âïž
I enjoy seeing people still finding his comedy and liking it. George was so unique, and for me it's his intelligence with his honesty of how he dissects his topics with such masterful craftsmanship that I love most about him.
She dropped that âCâ word real quick đđ© lmao
đ
Oh my dear your laugh is one of my favorite sounds - on or off you tube . thank you for doing this.
Thank youđ
Great reaction JAY!!!
CARLIN is the GOAT!!!!
PERIOD!!!!
He actually got arrested in 1972 after doing this routine at Summerfest in Milwaukee for profanity :D
Wow lol
@@JayShara Lenny Bruce was also arrested for obscenity in the 1960s.
â@@JayShara fun fact george was also arrested while he was in the air force for...riding in a car with black soldiers
Need more George carlin on the channel!
George is the GREATEST stand up comic of all time, in my opinionâŠwe certainly could use his common sense thinking, in todayâs crazy world đ
He was actually arrested for doing this routine once in 1972! They charged him with violating obscenity laws! But it backfired on them because this routine wound up being in the middle of a federal court case! lol The Supreme Court actually had to step in and say that the FCC couldn't limit or stop George or others from using this material in their routines. He's a legend for sure!
Jay, you always deliverâŠbe safe out there and continue to grow the âJayTeamâ
Thank you. Take care â€
You have a beautiful smile and a much needed laugh. Thanks for the reaction đ
Comics used to dumb down things alot less back then. I saw a clip of Mort Sahl from the 60's and he's doing a bit thats practically college lecture level in 10 minutes on the tognight show and its not too much for the audience
He won the Grammy for the album class clown in 1972 it has the7 words on it
YUPPPPPP, HE WAS THE BEST BY FARRRRRR JAY! đ 15 YEARS GONE NEXT YEAR đ AND STILLLLL RELEVANT!
Great reaction đ
The GOAT
"7 Dirty Words" uploaded 7 days ago!
You need to see him in an earlier setting- in CZcams there is a clip of him in 1965 on the Merv Griffin Show doing a very funny stand-up(much different than what he would do years later)
his outfit is kinda fire.
Lowkey
Love George. You laugh is adorable
I LOVE Watching George Carlin

George Carlin is my #1 of all time. He changed the game. Pioneer of rebellion towards mainstream "clean" comedy.

. Love your look in turquoise. You look ravishing.
You should try some STEVEN WRIGHT, you would enjoy him.

Phoney. Laugh

I've never understood how dumbing down comedy (or anything else) would make it funnier or better?
If I'm aware that this is being done, I feel insulted by the assumption that I wouldn't understand the more sophisticated version of the joke.
It doesn't even have to be "sophisticated". The mere fact that professional comedians would deliver jokes that are not as good as they can make them?
That's stupid. Perhaps not from a career perspective, but I respect the hell out of people who go their own way and waste no time on political correctness and commerciality.
