    Although these neighborhoods may harbor (overt) criminals, I have visited each one as a home health clinician since 2007 and never felt unsafe (in the daytime). The people I have met have all been generally nice but struggling with low income issues.

    I spent nearly two decades of my life living in Ft Myers, FL. I've been to every single place you mentioned and have lived in four of them and I can honestly say that some of the realest people I've ever met in my life till this day came from these neighborhoods and I'm still friends with majority of them many years later as I live on the opposite side of the country now in the mountains. Great video, it brought back alot of memories. ✌🏼🌴

Back in the day the place was identified as little pakistan and fort misery. It has gotten extremely better than the past. Lehigh Acres is becoming more crime infested now more than ever. It is really sad to see the condition of Fort Myers. I lived there for a few years in the early 90's and then 98-2000. I haven't been back since I left in 2000. I was told that the city had doubled in size. I'm sure it is even bigger now. When I lived there, I lived in a complex on Colonial. Lehigh Acres was a small working class community way inland with a lot of greenery between Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres. San Carlos was working class, quiet neighborhood.

    San Carlos Park isn’t a bad neighborhood, I’ve lived here for 8yrs, the people are decent, the water is safe to drink, the Gulf Coast Mall is here, new developments are being built for the wealthy/well to do. There is student housing, but it’s pricey & the kids are focused on their education & not criminal activity It’s a far better neighborhood than the others listed.

    • @soulstorm8806
      @soulstorm8806 Před 2 lety +2

      The Park is filled with drugs though you must know that. From constitution to winged foot all the way to three oaks in the back. Lots of raids over the years. And people have been murdered all over the Park. Just saying. You may not hear about it because they try to keep Park trouble on the DL because it's not all bad as you said but it is what it is. I lived there on constitution for years and years and I saw with my own eyes. But you have to be a street person to really be in it and see it up close or you have to at least be family with the long timers who grew up in the Park. No offense. Just saying a neighborhood can look okay but three doors down can be the exact opposite. It's not the worst hood in Lee county but it's definitely nowhere near the best either. It's a middle class hood in some areas and a low income in the rest.

      You must stay in the house and not watch the news. I had to survey the drainage in your neighborhood for about 4-6 months and after being in so many peoples backyards/having encounters with many of your “lovely neighbors” I know that’s false, and that’s not including all the newsworthy crime that happens in that community. My guess is you live on the golf course. There are some pockets that are nice, well maintained with nice people, but a majority of it is drug infested. If you don’t open your door and see that yet then you’re lucky but if I were you I’d be looking at selling my house and moving while the gettin’s good cause you’re about to be in the hood. It’s not the worst place to live in the county but it’s definitely not a good place and it’s getting worse

Myerlee... no other kids there, rules & more rules, fake grass, ugh. My brother and I (13/14) had to stay at Fountain Court for 6 mo's waiting for the condo to finish. I went back to Boston as fast as I could, only coming back for a very short stint at new college (Sarasota) which was marginally better. Too many rules -- go to the beach and read signs with 20 things you can't do (like have fun) I'll take Cape Cod anytime over the beaches there, lined with high rises, but my parents stayed around myerlee 40+ yrs till they both passed recently and called it their "Paradise"! I then moved to Lely high school and was in Naples Manor all the time. Had a lot of friends that lived there and was in and out 24/7. I lived in the habitat for humanity neighborhood right behind the walmart at the collier Blvd/US 41 intersection. My dad started renting in Pine manor of Fort Myers when I was in highschool. Started off on 4th street now in 8th. I lived there a couple times with him lol I didn’t get set up or anything shady happen on those streets tho it happened in some other well known spots.
