Unfortunately, lifegain only hast that pay off... I have an atalya deck which gains TONS of life, but it does nothing with said life... We really need a better way to spend life on something... Except for the reservoir and the "win if you have over X life", gaining life does nothing

They're not 'Must-Runs', but two White utility pieces I always go back to are definitely Brave the Sands or Sigarda's Aid. The second one is more narrow, for sure, but they both end up in a bunch of decks
Brave the sands might as well be. If you have any creatures, if you ever have to chump block, you can stop 2 attacks for the price of an easy to get 1/1 soldier creature token. a 2/2 with deathtouch becomes great removal.

Swords would be a better number one. More universally good. Smothering is good in a lot of deck, even most but swords is great in all decks.

Smothering tithe is amazing ramp and would be a very close second in my opinion. It's a good addition to all decks but there is better mana ramp via; Exploration, Mana Crypt. However Swords is the best single target removal spell and most efficient, 1 mana at instant speed exile.

@@jo_ken please no. Cyclonic rift is busted because you can do it on the turn before yours and combo/attack on a clean board. Instant in white means your aggro deck just slaughters your opponents out of nowhere
@@jo_ken Honestly cyclonic rift is annoyingly good. Even though I would want white to get serious upgrades I don't want it to just be white versions of the most broken cards in other colors. That would be lame imho.
Being a sorcery really hurt its playability...

I have both in my monowhite deck. And they are the best for land drop

As to the content of the video, I'd like to mention Elspeth, sun's champion for must run white cards. It's a board wipe and a wincon in one card. It's good when you're ahead, behind, and at parity. It's not only a must run in white, but one of the few planeswalkers good enough commander, generally.

Loved the sponsorship, possibly the best thing I have seen this year. I feel that Monastery Mentor or Eight and a Half Tails could have made the list, apart from that, spot on.
The Raycon sponsorship part was the best part. I put up with sponsorship ads in CZcams videos because I get why they have to do them, and they often try to make them fun or interesting or try to be cynical about it, but I rarely actually enjoy them. Well done sir!

Thanks for this video! I just opened Emiel the Blessed and Ive never played white before so this is a nice group of staples for me to use.
Personally I'm missing "winds of abandon", a one generic more costly "path to exile" with the overload option to effectively path to exile every creature you don't control.
Wind's is a sorcery though, and it's going to put anyone with a lot of creatures way ahead of you
I once played smothering tithe and Revel in riches early in the same game once.
Same here a few weeks ago. I got to 9 treasures until someone destroyed both of them. I lost that game but it was still a fun game.

Turn 2: Smothering Tithe
Turn 3: Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale
Turn 4: oponent dead.

He also missed Thalia's Lancers, my favourite white tutor. "Legendary card" covers many incredibly powerful options, one being any planeswalker. It's 5 cost but is a 4/4 first strike and can be recurred/blinked like any other creature.
@@TheMightyBattleSquid Equipment is white specialty but white isn't limited to equipments. When he said he wasn't including annointed procession, which care about tokens, which are "white's specialty", it's precisely those kind of cards he wouldn't mention.

That sponsered ad was amazing. I personally run a Teshar deck, so I tend to be more based on comboing off than running interaction, but I still run most of these effects. Used to also have both versions of Oketra, a Kemba deck, and a Jareth deck.

Austere commmand is insanely good.
@@sallomon2357 You'll be surprised at how few draw effects actually net you 2 or more cards at once, almost everything is 1 card at the time, which this does nothing against. It's been a complete dud in every deck I've run it in.

Great ad, Prof. Made me laugh out loud on the bus. I run one deck with white and all but Sun Titan and Teferi’s Protection are in it. It’s a Jeskai spellslinger deck, so Sun Titan isn’t strictly necessary, but I definitely could use a Teferi’s Protection.

Great video professor. I was surprised that settle the wreckage wasn't mentioned won me many games. Also can't remember card name but white enchantment that only allow players to play one spell a turn or player enchantment that just dose that for them. Finally iv very surprised silence wasn't at least mentioned very powerful card.
