What a bargain this rig it ! Saw it on the Saturday live stream and the whole build looked amazing and still performed at 1080p :-) All ready for the addition of a dedicated GPU sometime in the future. Thanks Mike and Kath.

Personally if you're in this £400 budget then you have to go used to get the best price to performance. You would also be able to get a cheaper £100 GPU with the rest of the system for £300 or so. I would probably go with the Ryzen 4500 and a very cheap a320 board personally but this build is still fine.
Tbh I’d have the cheap gpu but still keep the 5600g. It’s an amazing processor that only has like 5-10 percent worse performance than the 5600x and on board graphics is great to have when trouble shooting of the you is faulty. And new pc builders will likely not have a replacement gpu to test.

Agree with Bob this is a uniquely diff case and the build is very interesting in todays market. What difference would an older GPU make? I have a spare GTX1050Ti (single fan) so curious to know how the graphics would compare! Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath 👍 Stay warm stay safe brrrr!
adding a budget GPU would give it a decent boost, a 1650 or higher would be better, the gtx1050ti would be better but not a big enough jump to warrant the cost if new

More people should build HTPCs in my opinion.......they can be so cheap and effective.
my htpc has a 2200g with a b450 aorus pro ITX, i keep on saying i'll upgrade it to a 5600g but never get around to it

Banging cooler for 20 quid, will cool any 6 core just fine. For 60 quid you could grab a Kyocera 1TB NVMe.

5600g was £115.97 for a short while on Amazon uk yesterday. Went back today, and price went back up. I was too slow to nab it at that price.
