-- Its been about a month since I camped at the fort in the woods. With the warm days we've had, I expected the snow to have melted away from the back wall, much to my surprise, when I returned to the fort, it was almost exactly how I had left it.
So, plans changed from rebuilding, to building onto it more.
I know it will melt soon, and I will have to rebuild, which I am looking forward to.
I whip up an easy, but sturdy cooking tripod, find a great score on some logs, build a bit on to the back wall, and make bacon and eggs with no cooking containers, or tools.
Also, I go in depth into my opinion o the flint and steel.
I hope you all enjoy, see ya soon!

This fort should in honor of our Boy Scout this fort here fit for any king should be here by named “ CAMP SCOUT” May your fun forever last with us buddy.
Cool. Man, does that ever look like the shelter we built two years ago today that we never finished ! Even the setting. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
hahah that’s so cool that you two big youtubers comment on each others videos. i hope i get big like you guys someday and do the same!
That's because you're kind of lazy, James! 😂😂😂💪💪💪
And Shawn, this is a 'fort', not a shelter. 😛
@@hermit6208 I would never call Shaun lazy...
Good times, man, that seems like so long ago now.
Lookin forward to getting together soon.
Note to self when going camping. Bring a flamethrower to start my fire.
Bushcraft USA has an ultra light model called the Scorcher!!
Come to the Central Oregon (USA) coast in mid-January, you'll probably wish you had. Lewis and Clark must have had a hell of a time at first.
Hey bro you probably won’t see this but I’m really sorry for your loss and we all know you loved him and we did too.
Just know we got your back and don’t stop doing what your doing.#LongLiveScout
When you are in Scotland You and TA should meet up and do something together for us:)!
Yes agree
Hi Joe I got to see SOME of your live chat before my computer messed up. I'm glad you are getting a new camping buddy. Please don't compare him with Scout but teach him to be who you want him to be so you two can have great times together. It's good to see you out and about . I've missed your face and antics in the bush. Keep 'em coming. Lots of Love from Nova Scotia
I am not a woods man. But I do enjoy the forest. I love a good camp fire. When I was a kid, I built several tree houses on my parents 10 acres of woods in Massachusetts. I have gone "camping" when I was in my twenties. I have slept in tents with a river of water flowing under my sleeping bag. I have slept in the bed of a truck in a torrential rain storm with just a plywood roof. Got soaked to the bone. Went camping In a 72 Matador 4 dr sedan, (that was my "tent").. and in an actual camper, slept on the floor. My friends and I were HEAVY drinkers. Way too many years wasted, being wasted. My generation, my gang of friends were all into partying. We had parties every weekend all year round, and went clubbing during the work week. I still love the outdoors, but to watch you Joe...is incredible. You can be comfortable in freezing weather, sleeping in a lean to.! I don't think I could do that. I need a tent or truck bed or something with walls to feel safe enough to sleep ! I don't know how you do it !. Be safe man ! Peace ! matt.
Hey Joe,
I just wanted to say that we love your videos and you always make our days better. Whatever you do, don't stop uploading the content we all love. Keep up the great work and good luck.
RIP scout. You will be forever missed.
Krattle Rattle what?
God Bless the pup up in Heaven wow I’m learning all this now years later but just started watching love u Scott 🥹
In the nicest way possible, these videos send me to sleep! Not because they’re boring but because they’re so relaxing and therapeutic
Thanks Joe ! Its 12:30am and you upload a hour video! Im up for work at 7am!! and you know im so staying up longer to watch the video!! thanks Joe! as always, all the best to you the the family!!
Use some 4 ought, (0000) steel wool. Fluff up steel wool, place inside of your bird nest and strike.
@@Jamal_Tyrone Well done Jamal, I seriously didn't realise that. A+ for effort.
I just do not understand the mentality of people people staying up to watch new CZcams videos when they should be sleeping in preparation for work/school/college or whatever it is they do. I must be altruistic or something...
Hi Joe welcome back my friend. Glad you and your family doing well. Glad to see you are out in the woods . Can't wait to see more. Thanks again
Finally had time to finish 👍
Bacon heals all wounds
Joe, one of the most enjoyable aspects or your video is the ease and comfort with which you communicate through the lens. So many vloggers are stiff automotons, or just reading a script. You talk as if we're right there with you. If you have that presence in public speaking engagements, you'll go far.
Was worth the watch just watching you fight with that tree. Poor Joe. That’s why your videos are so good because you show it like it is, not as everything happens so perfect. Can’t wait for your next outing.
Laying outside in a hammock watching this video and enjoying the beautiful 77° weather.
Sounds like the perfect set up. Its been a while since I had a hammock up in my fort.
Who else likes the video before it even starts?
We love and miss you scout. Such a good boy.
Joe, a good material choice for char cloth is oil lamp wicking because it's far more durable than denim or cotton T-shirts. Also, it's good to carry a candle when using char cloth. Try to get the candle lit with, or even before, the bird's nest. The candle then becomes a steady match to relight the bird's nest.
Does it bother anyone else that the logs aren't staggered, alternating the fat and skinny side up and down? I feel like with the wide part of the log at the bottom all the time, the top is going to be smaller than the bottom.
10 seconds after I post this, Joe mentions that he sees the same problem...
Yep, we are thinking the same thing! Since Joe 'loves' your comment, he is thinking that way too.
That’ll bug you till you’re in a survival situation, then all you’ll care about is that there are logs
@@Andybruff True enough Andy! However, if 'fortune favors the prepared mind', it doesn't take any longer to alternate boles and tips for someone with Joe's level of experience outdoors.
of course, he is going to rebuild it all when the weather switches.
It looks funny but it does help a little with water and wind proofing to my knowledge
You should video your speaking engagements and share with us your loyal viewers. Just a thought.
I have footage from my time at canoecopia, ill het that up soon.
Thanks!
My favorite CZcamsr. Wholesome, educational, funny, and relaxing. Nothing like a little Joe Robinet to end the day.
Missed seeing new vids, but glad you took some family time to decompress - the old mental health thing and all! Looking forward to the future - Loved when the dead tree was winning the battle - you are a card! You and Shawn, Doug and Scrambled O are down to earth - that is probably why so many of us feel like you are relatives of ours. Stay safe, little buddy!
Joe. You're an excellent public speaker! I think everyone at Canoecopia would agree with me that your presentations were excellent!
Well, thank you
Gotta give credit when credit is due bud!
I always love watching these types of videos! Full of information and new skills that are always fun to learn
Always feel with the back of your hand. That way if it is hot it will not harm your hand where you could use it.
PLEASE DON’T EVER STOP MAKING VIDEOS JOE!!!! You’re awesome partner, what a great video so far.
When u go camping u might not see scout but trust me he’s right be side u every where u go
Kyler Seal :(
Mimon vergewaltigt Irene: u tryin be mean because it’s not hurting my feelings
Mimon vergewaltigt Irene : yep I bet he will
@Mimon vergewaltigt Irene you do realise Joe lost Scout to the rainbow bridge, and the comment was regarding his spirit alongside Joe ,,, so why the sarcastic comments about Muslims ? Absolutely no need for that sort of shite !!!!!
andy price:thank you and I really miss scout I really miss how he’s not in the videos. He’s in the video but u just can’t see him
Hi there Joe, new subscriber here from South Africa. Just spent the day watching the new series. Really looking forward to the rest to come.
Glad to hear it, thanks!
Im from somalia
Im from the south pacific ocean
Im from st.kitkat
Im from a oaktree
Thanks Joe for taking us along again
Dude, you are so real. Loved your relationships with your dogs. Love your videos! I’ve been watching your videos for entertainment while dealing with RONA. Glad to hear that you have a family and that you’re “not a peasant.”
Keep posting
Hey Joe if you put a slightly smaller rope with a prusik knot and a toggle on your main rope you could adjust your height of your pot
If you end up going to the UK you've gotta do a video with TA Outdoors! Glad to see ya back Joe.
i agree with many other commenters, it shall be called Fort Scout! All the best fellow Patriots!
So great to have Joe video on Sunday! Thank you.
Love your stuff joe been watching u for about 3 years + never give up what your doing , from UK Wales
Ohhhhhh ya Joes back on !!!! BAM SON!!
Hey Joe,
Love your channel. I was living in Thunder Bay for 15 years and could find sanctuary in the bush. Unfortunately I moved back to Ottawa for work. I miss the peace I could find in the bush in northern Ontario
Watching your videos brings me back to those days.
We miss Scout. He was a great partner.
I really miss you not having you're evening tottie or drink. Its nice to relax and tell it like it is
Joe, if you get a tree stuck like that try sticking your axe in the end of the tree so that you can use it as a lever to rotate/twist the tree as you shake it free. Sometimes it isn't possible, but on that one it looked like it would have worked wonders.
"Turn the key to get you free!" if you get stuck in branches again.
I will try
another great video joe! i just recorded me cooking my first steak on a fire and i’m uploading it tuesday! thank you for making videos. you are the reason i’m trying youtube.
Hatchet Survival I love your channel!!! keep it up :)
Hatchet Survival LOVE your channel dude! looking forward to your next video !!
OK youve sparked my interest. (no pun) I'm going out there to look for your channel!
Ralph thank you!
@@HatchetSurvival me too.
Joe you are a treasure and bring me many smiles and chuckles. Thanks a bunch for all the hours of pleasure! Looking forward to seeing your new puppy
On the 29 of March, I lost my ESA Nala (Cat). She developed sudden and very aggressive cancer so I spent the lat few days just watching through your videos and they really helped me cope with the grief.
On Saturday and Sunday, we were supposed to get clear skies in my town of Stirling, Ontario. We got rain on Saturday which then tappered to freezing rain, then to snow and by Sunday, it went from snow - rain - sun - freezing rain - snow - then back to sun mixed with rain x'D
I swear my cat got up there and strangled the weather man for all those days of bad weather and old achy bones x'D
I've got the popcorn. I look forward to every video.
Joe's back! Cant wait to watch this as I know it will be great. Keep up the great work, I really enjoy your channel.
I’m joining the us military soon, I’m lining up a SERE contract (survival experts and instructors) and I have to say, this channel represents a lot of why I want to go down that career path, the wilds of America are a great thing to experience.
You are so amazing Joe!!! What would we do without you!!! I love your videos, your sense of humor and goofiness!!!
🤦🏽♂️
another great video! you’re the reason i started making them too!
Hey
Hope you had a good time in the woods making a fire like good old days
Your amazing who ever is reading this
I am sorry to hear about Scout. Losing ones best friend is difficult. Give my condolences to your family, and it does get easier to live day by day. I speak from experience, having lost my Butterscotch two winter's ago.
Thanks Joe. Looking forwards to how this fort matures over a full season cycle and I hope you have a four legged mate joining you soon at your fort.
Hey Joe, I’m working my way towards Eagle Scout and what an inspiration to continue working towards a life goal! 😀
My sons are both Eagles. A wonderful thing to have. Opens many many doors! Good luck on your Eagle!!! Dan
Have you gone or do you have the opportunity to go to Philmont?
Awesome👍
Brian S
I am contemplating on doing just that either next summer or in the near future. Also Sea Base downs in the keys!
@@jeaniefarmer5415 As a fellow Eagle myself, good luck! Also - Sea Base is AMAZING. Highly recommended if you get the chance. I did the Out Island adventure, and it was one of the highlights of my time as a youth in Scouting.
Great video joe keep up the great work cant wait to hear the life changing news
"Charcoal breaded, hard baked, eggs". Love it, only Joe!! Really like all your' videos Joe. Started watching this video last night but when it got to be 1:30am I had to go to bed. I need to open you up earlier in the evening. Have a problem shutting you down ones I get looking. You know Scout would have helped you pull that tree down. Good to see you out and about. We all miss you when you are away. Oh, and your' videos are nice and clear. That camera does a real nice job and the sound is nice and clean. keep on truckin brother.
Glad you and your family are doing well! Great day in the woods! Thanks!
As usual awesome job. I would have boiled the eggs then used the water for tea. 🤷🏻♀️
he's not using cooking equipment, how would you boil the water? just throw it at the the fire.... lmfao
The pot he boiled his tea in. I’m not judging just a suggestion.
He was making s point of not using “tools”. That’s why no cup was used.
@@mystuff1405 thank you, my point exactly
Cool Joe, if you do go to the UK, I'm sure Hazey will save a few of his beers for you. Maybe. 😛
Legend has it that joe is the best bushcraft camper out there
I don’t know why but I love these videos. The vibes are so chill and I learn so much stuff
Another epic video man! The fort is coming along surely. Take care buddy keep up the good work 👍🏼
The new fire kit is a Bic lighter
Another excellent time enjoying a video from Joe!
Thanks once again for taking us along
AND NOW FOR THE MAIN EVENT...JOE vs TREE!! HAH!!! That was great!
It's coming along quite nicely & good to know you've been overly notified about the back wall. :)
Hey Joe, really appreciate your videos. Randomly found your channel back in December and have been hooked since. Keep up the solid work!
Glad you found us!
Since you got rid of your twitter.. ever thought about opening a Discord? Would be a good way to do polls and get feedback on ideas from people. Also.. I've had bacon over a fire like that.. totally ruined me for pan-fried. lol so tasty.
Ur absolutely the only one that can get me to watch a hour long vid and I thank u for making amazing vids
Glad you are back at the Fort. God Bless you and your family. Can't wait for a another overnighter at the Fort. I love the overnight ones...don't see how you make it through the night in the cold but I love watching ya do it. Lol. Thanks Joe for the video. ❤❤🙏❤🌲🌲

Someone forgot their shovel. The shame! LoL
So glad this was unrestricted. Another great video joe, keep up the great work.
Never stop making these videos Joe. They are very unique to you and Im sure Scout would be very proud of his Dad. Keep your head up!
I love this guy's videos 😍 keep up the great work you!
When you rebuild it, would you consider building a vertical back wall to the current height snow to keep the angle the same of your roof?
Great to see you back out into the bush missed your videos welcome back Joe,
Hey Joe glad to see you again! Good luck with the new dog!
To all the fans out there complaining about length, put it on 1.25 speed.
Douglas Radzanowski people complaining about an hr vid of Joe's?! he always does it and it's great.
to complainers: watch 20 mins a day or whatever. and let joe do his hour long vids there are those of us that do like it
@@ryleyw3684 that's a good idea to! I watch normal speed, as I watch with my 8 year old. I'm just recommending something for comments I saw.
Bro, go do a video with Carlisle.. That would be fire

Depending on your definition of ‘back in the day’ ferro rods may not have existed. From Wikipedia: Ferrocerium was invented in 1903 by the Austrian chemist Carl Auer von Welsbach
we're so happy to see you making a come-back , we have missed old-joe - know that you're old camping buds
can't wait to fly with you once again.:):)
been binge watching a lot of your older videos. Think i found a new favourite channel
Took long enough. Lol. Just messing with ya.
More steak episodes yo. I know you have gut issues--so do I--but damn son, get THEM STEAKS!
A new doggie! Yay!!
I figured the live stream on Friday night was going to be my Joe fix for the week. I'm really glad I was mistaken! 😊 Thanks for suffering through the upload time at home to post this before Monday/Tuesday. Another enjoyable video!
Thank you for noticing 🙂
@@josephallen19 You're welcome! 😊 Before I got high-speed internet everything took way too long to do.
I've visited friends on the northern edge of Durham Region outside of town and my cell phone's 3G was faster than they're "high-speed internet" so I get it.
Also you said in the video that you had to go into town during the week to upload videos and this one uploaded on a Sunday. It was only logical. 😆
Hey Joe Tammy from Spirit Forest would like to do a collaboration with you, would you, she is amazing.
A collab in the bird region...
I have a German Shepard she is female she is not even one year old yet and if you would like her I will give her to you for free RIP Scout
Matt Squad What a nice offer but someone as nice as you deserves the love this dog has to give. You and your dog need to do Joe and Scout stuff together.
Hope to see more Videos from ya Joe ..Can't wait to hear your life changing News ...Sorry about Your Poor Egg Lol Cheers Joe Many Blessings to ya n your Beautiful Family..R.I.P Scout
To make your walls even, put the logs top end to big end. Switch back and forth. Top to bottom. Then, they will fit better together.
We all do. I'm so excited that out snow is almost gone. The creeks here are in their banks, fishing is going to be good in about 2 weeks.
Good to see everything is getting better, Joe.
Thanks Joe, sat here watching you outdoors while I am staring at the rain clouds as they pass by heading South West so hop[e someones garden gets as much of a watering as my balcony did the past 12 hours - cause man did it pour. So yeah good to see you are up and about and back at the Fort, cheers mate!
“I don’t want to pull the yolk over your eyes” lol. Another good one Joe. Ty
