Honestly Scout was clearly one of the good ones. He was a great dog.
That being said, Tripper is beautiful, he is growing into a beautiful dog face and clearly will also be a great companion!
Consider yourself lucky Joe, not everyone gets two great dogs in their lifetime.
I have had 3 great dogs. Each in their own way. My current one became a service dog on his own.
Tripper is awesome. I think he'll make a great companion, fit to honour Scout's memory.

The unfinished fort of 3 years. He started too late, it'll be snowing next time he does this and then maybe in spring he may finish the third wall.
@@christopherbownes494 I wasn't aware he had a move in date scheduled. It will get finished when it gets finished. I, for one, will enjoy the video's whenever he takes the time to make, edit, and post them.
@@kurtz260 oh yes. I agree. It's about the aesthetic and the asmr nature of his videos for sure. But he has no intention of ever finishing the fort. It'll snow, something will get ruined, he'll have to spend an episode fixing it come spring, then in the summer too many black flies. Then 10 day excursion. Then canoe trip. Etc...
Think of these episodes as filler.

Seriously I've had 4 German shepherds in my life since 1993 and it does not get easier as they've passed on. Great memories plus I made hand prints and took hair from each one on passing. So nice to smell my babies when I need a doggy fix. Tripper will learn but with his turn on things.. Have fun!!

I miss the building a fort videos. It’s what brought me to watching this channel a couple years ago.
I can not tell you how much this reminds me of my childhood in the North Carolina Mountains. I would get home from school around 2:30 or 3:00 PM and hike until 6:00 or 7:00 PM depending on light and who was cooking dinner that night! Awesome times and thanks for rekindling those good memories. My dog that always followed along was named Skipper, and rescued him in the dead of Winter from a bag in a snowbank. Nothing special, but loyal as hell!

@@dylanzrim1011 Hunters go out to their tree stands before the sun rises and hear everything... He's probably on protected land or knows the hunters in the area... One thing I learned early on ( a few years ago) is that Joe is no fool... and he's a really good teacher... He'll explain his reasons at some point

Thanks for bringing back some good memories Joe...My big brother Ron would have been 57 on Oct.8th..a long time ago we grew up on Malden Rd, and used to camp in the bush behind our house near Ojibway,,,my brother would start a fire, we would cook and build forts and fish at the pond near the creek.. Scout was lucky to have you...nothing beats good times like those...Thanks Joe...

And that’s just based on the brief glimpses of your life we see out here on You Tube. I applaud your kindness & respect you give to animals in general. They give us so much we would not have without them. That includes the ones we hunt or fish for & eat. Thanks Joe.

B Sheppard well, Its not uncommon for dogs to be mistaken for coyotes. And sometimes yeah, there are a few stupid people who shoot at the first sign of movment
