  • Very happy with the horsepower and torque gains after installing the Ward Performance ported and polished intake manifold. So I was on the fence for sometime contemplating which manifold I was going to choose for my build.
    After seeing a lot of race bikes exceeding 200+ horsepower and 190+ torque using the Ward Performance intake manifold, I was convinced and got one from the peeps at Fuel Moto.
    I'm very happy with the setup. I have the Screamin Eagle throttle body and 7.02 injectors, which complement this intake manifold from Ward.
    If you're interested in this same setup you can reach out to the team over at Fuel Moto to get you the same setup, just let them know that Michael Bertini sent you and they'll take care of you.
    I gained 10 horsepower and 5 torque just by adding the Ward intake manifold, which is crazy! Now Blockhead Moto's dyno is not the same dyno that my bike has been getting numbers from for sometime now, so we knew it would read different numbers than the other dyno.
    On my last run on the previous dyno it was 157tq and 141hp, so if you were to take the gains we had seen in this video, I'm at 162tq and 151hp. The bike feels amazing, so these numbers are just that... numbers. As you've seen from my riding videos, the bike is insanely fast and light.
    Overall, adding the ported and polished intake manifold from Ward was a great addition to the bike and worth every penny.
    Big shoutout to Blockhead Moto Garage for always taking care of me and providing me with great customer service. If you're interested in having your bike serviced, check out this link and book an appointment: www.blockheadmoto.com/service...

    That gain is what I would've expected from such a big motor along with all your mods. That intake looked killer nice job ward performance.

    Fuel Moto customer service is definitely dope! I received some bent adjustable push rods and they sent some replacements out right away. Definitely my go-to place for motorcycle parts.

    Very impressive results on your SE 131 build: peak increases of +10 (HP) and +4.5 (TQ), with special note that the Torque increase was throughout the curve. I wonder how this manifold would respond on a smaller engine (114 / 117) built to a Stage-2? Tom M., Hawthorne Ca. '21 RGS & '22 FXLRS

      @MichaelBertini  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for that callout, Tom. I agree; it would be interesting to see how it would perform on a small engine. I'm assuming good numbers too, I'm just not sure if they would look like these.🤘🏼

    Great gains! I was told Grudgebox will drop the HP a bit due to the larger gears, might contribute to some of the loss as well. Love the build!

      I wonder if there is more parasitic loss due to the straight cut gears ?

    2 things rite off the batt. 1st you dont want a smooth finish for the inside of the manifold . The rougher texture helps and aids in the mixing of the fuel and air . Smooth finish is best for fluilds and liquids.
    2nd knowone will see the engraving on the intake.

    The reason the Dyno reads lower is because you installed the grudge box. Mine made around 10hp and 5 torque more with the stock transmission. The grudge box robs power to the rear wheel.

      That's what another subscriber mentioned. It makes sense, but I find it interesting that Baker claims the opposite. I love hearing what people are experiencing like yourself, because that's the real world results. 👍🏼

    I am going to stay 117 for a bit (see how long that lasts) I am trying to decide what TB throttle body and injectors to get. TB isnt a concern really the mani is more of getting rid of the plastic stock unit off my 2023 streetglide ST.
    looking at the S&S 55mm mani and 5.5 injectors not a clue on TB yet.
    I have the star 30/30 cam going in this week and the S&S cam install kit

      @@sublimekid247 I think it would be overkill for a 117, but you might see a small bump in performance. Not sure it would be enough though to warrant the cost.

    everybody worries about horsepower torque is were its at
    on a harley the v twin is a torque engine.horsepower is for drag racing and high rpm"s
    my bike is only 140 hp but 155 torque and once you get to those numbers they
    are a different animal.ps your buddy needs a cell to tune in

    • @MichaelBertini
      @MichaelBertini  Před 2 lety

      You nailed it, Ron. All I hear is people talking about HP 🤷🏽‍♂️ when torque is really where the focus should be, especially on a bagger. If you watch some of my original videos that's what I said from the jump... I was always building for torque. 😬🤘🏼
