THIS is abuse and manipulation. In the videos you can clearly see and hear that Rob is the abuser but it seems like he manipulated Sophie into believing that it’s her mom ruining her relationship. Typical abusive behavior right there. Manipulating the victim so much that they break it off with their support system. I‘m seriously worried for Sophie.

13:02 - Rob cannot do that. His insecurities will never allow him to do that. She must always be beneath him in order for him to feel comfortable and secure. Someone like Rob cannot build someone up because they feel that the person will ultimately leave them. I think this episode illustrates an underlying problem with modern relationships (and society for that matter)- selfishness. People are so wrapped up in their own wants and needs that they can't see how their actions or inactions affect others.
I don't think Rob realizes that Velma tends to appear in real life as chubby, mousy women that dress up in t shirts and jeans. Sophie is the complete opposite of that.

It is not a huge deal to misstate your partner's age by a year, especially when you pass 40 or so and deliberately stop counting. Also, I can't believe you're putting it on Sophie's shoulders that she doesn't give Rob validation. I'm sure she does, but he's so insecure that nothing is enough for him. I get the sense that Rob is just super insecure. He loves the attention of the girls online. He gets triggered when people get the wrong idea of him (he hates that people think he's toxic, porn addicted, etc) and unfortunately Sophie makes sure to paint him poorly to her friends/family/the world every chance she gets).
