- Kobe has been forced to make a choice. Emily or his friends. He can't remain neutral anymore. He has to put a stop to this. And it's a good to see him finally stand up for Emily and confront his friends for how they've been treating her since she's arrived in Cameroon.
Much to their surprise, Kobe tells his friends that if they can't support his marriage they shouldn't come to his wedding. You can clearly see how painful it is for Kobe to say this. And how shocked his friends are, too. I just hope they finally realize he doesn't want their help in "teaching" Emily how to be an African housewife. He's happy with her as she is, thank you very much. Back off or F off. But don't keep insulting her.

As an African myself, I honestly think this friends-beating-on-Emily storyline is just another TLC attempt to create drama. I'm sure it's all scripted. Don't get me wrong, I love it, lol, but their real story was probably too peaceful (boring) and TLC needed to create some drama.

Kobi's family accepts her and her family. It would be great if his friends accepted the relationship, but it is not necessary. Emily can be a handful, but she is open to learning and growing. I just think the friends took it too far until they put Kobi in the position to finally stand up for her. It took him way too long to put them in their place. You can tell his female friend Valerie wasn't a big fan of Emily either. It was all in the body language. Kobi has been pillow talking with his friends and complaining about Emily. That's why they came at her so hard. Even the way he walked away from his friends seemed rehearsed. I don't agree with the way his friends were treating Emily but I do think Kobi had a lot to do with how they acted.

I think it might just be a West African thing. My husband is from senegal and he does that sort of thing in conversation a lot, particularly when there are many people in the room.
