  • Serena Williams demonstrates why she is one of the best tennis players of all time. Her ability to come back from deep holes is unparalleled. More than just her technical skills, power, speed and athleticism, Serena has a mental fortitude that escapes most players!

    Serena always says in interviews that "Tennis is a mental game. 30% is physical and the rest is mental".... And she keeps proving that......
    Another great match she played recently was in Wimbledon 2009 semifinal against Dementieva....
    Love you Serena.............

    In my opinion the 1999-2004 era was the height of WTA competition. Serena, Venus, Davenport, Capriati, Henin, Hingis, and Cljisters were all fierce. This contemporary era of players don't match.

      @Illya Kuryakin Whatever no one even remembers her anymore. No one can ever come back in a grandslam the way Serena can. Especially at the 2015 French open... 5 out of 7 three set matches. So many aussie open comebacks and anywhere else. Serena is this undisputed Queen who actually had more competition to deal with from 1999-until present.

    • @black_nebula

      @Illya Kuryakin And what's with the hate speech of not having the guts to complete the calender slam? She's won 4 in a row TWICE! And Steffi didn't have the guts to continue playing due to the competition getting stronger. Now what

    • @black_nebula
      @black_nebula Před 5 lety +2

      @Illya Kuryakin Who cares if it was a calendar year it's the same amount of months in between and Serena did it twice. And of course a Steffi fan makes it seen like players arent shit these days. Serena has beaten all of the players you've mentioned and you have to go out there and fight. How tf are you gonna say Serena didn't have the guts? So fuck Vinci we're just gonna forget there's another player on side the net? Serena passed Steffi and that's what matters. Steffi's ers was weak af until the mid 90s and you know it

    • @black_nebula
      @black_nebula Před 5 lety

      @Illya Kuryakin You can lol alllllll you want. So now you your gonna attack most memorable comeback in a slam? Fine Serena had the flu the whole time that tournament. Watching live feeds on the internet you get to watch the players during changer overs and in a few matches Serena was coughing up her guts and out of it at times. And you still disrespect the players of today. Why even watch the game if you think there's no competition? You keep mentioning these old players who wouldn't have the stamina to fight some of these girls.
      Let alone a summer 2012, clay court 2013 or slam 2015 Serena. Monica Sales would have 20 slams if she wasn't derailed. Not Steffi. She is awesome I give credit but no one's buying that argument anymore except Steffi fans and maybe Mary Carillos jealous ass. Serena is one of a kind to have multiple blood clots threaten her life and have 4 phases in her career where it looked like she was done. Only now to still be hanging touch in her mid 30s with a child. You are right it aint close at all

    • @black_nebula
      @black_nebula Před 5 lety

      @Illya Kuryakin What do you mean Serena didn't win that much!? Early 2000s her game was still developing and she won a handfulf of slams before 07! And yes soooo many caliber players in that era so of course it's a little harder.
      And you mention Wozniacki like she is formidable. Azarenka was damn good and there were others who stepped up or tried to. Still the women of today deserve credit

    No 8 Serena can whitewash No 1 Justin 6-2 6-0, while No 1 Justin lost the match even when she bagled Serena and had two consecutive championship points, I think that's why there is a huge huge gap between Justine and Serena and why we say Serena is unbeatable at her peak, not to mention the four of all the six wins Justine had over Serena happened on Clay, including a very controversial even cheating one at 2003 French Open semifinal.

      zuo chang Beautiful comment. I couldn't have said it any better myself. The Serena haters &/or so-called Justine Henin (& some Steffi Graf) fans who constantly want to disrespect Serena Williams' accomplishments & bring up Henin's 3 Slam wins over Serena in 2007 while overlooking the fact that Serena Williams was still coming back from her 2006 injuries & was even reinjured during her match vs Daniela Hantchucova at the 2007 Wimbledon 4th round. Serena shouldn't have continued playing but she did in the next round vs Justine Henin in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Why did she? Because it's Wimbledon & even though Serena basically played one handed, she still took their match to 3 sets. Unfortunately, Serena lost & she didn't play another match until the US Open because she reinjured herself at Wimbledon & she still wasn't 100% fit when she played the Open. So, of course Serena wasn't ready & at her best during the 2007 Grand Slams (except the 2007 Aussie Open, which she won & surprised everyone) but it also doesn't mean Justine Henin was a better player than Serena Williams during their rivalry & their careers. But some how a few Justine Henin fans seem to think she was a better player than Serena Williams. At least you & I & many other tennis fans know what time it is.

But Serena Williams was still able to win the Miami event & beat Justine Henin in both 2007 & 2008.

If she were caucasian...If she's a man she's the greatest, if she and Venus are brothers she's the greatest. I've never heard she's tested positive for drugs, like others that we know, she's the greatest, she cuss out umpires, caucasians before her and after did too, she's the greatest..her record speak for itself. • @lamarlee3472
      @lamarlee3472 Před 4 lety +1

      John Haakmat If you watch the full match, in the second set Lindsay was still dominating until 2-2 0-40 on Serena’s serve in the second set. She proceeded to lose those break points and 3 more in the same game. Somehow her spirit wasn’t yet in tatters yet though, so the next game she went up 40-0 on serve and..... lost serve. From there she won one game further and handed Serena the match, and pouted until the last 3 games of the match when it was far too late to reverse the comeback or save face with 1 game. When you give up, you don’t decide how you lose and that’s what I think people are hard on Lindsay for in this match. Even watch her husband at 3:27, he’s trying to plead with her to not fold but she was just determined to do so.

    1) She won 4 slam finals even though her opponent had served for the match (FO 87, Wim 91, FO 96, FO 99).
    2) She won 2 slam finals against Navratilova after trailing her 57 02 (Wim 88) and 36 24 (USO 89) respectively.
    3) She beat Novotna in the famous Wim 93 final with Jana 4-1 in the lead in the 3rd, serving.
    4) And MJ Fernandez led her 43 (serving) in the 3rd in the FO 93 final.
    When Serena was down in slam finals she usually folded like a cheap tent.
