Thank you for sharing this, absolutely beautiful!!
My Grandmother and Mother had Alzheimer's. They both forgot who we were, what day it was, how to feed themselves. My Mother always Crocheting, one day I handed her yarn and a crochet needle and she ask me what is this? Forgot how to drink a cup of coffee. Little by little everything started fading away. She did tell me: "I know something is wrong with me, because I feel "weirder" everyday."
Momma had all kinds of medical issues and had been in the hospital. We brought her home on her 74th birthday and she passed 31 hours later. She was a vibrant beautiful Woman, loved everyone, especially children and very patriotic. She went into a coma and the last word out of her mouth was:"Momma"
I believe my Nanny came to greet her and take her home. 💕 ✨ 😥 😇

Very sweet. I have vague memories of singing You Are My Sunshine for my dad. I think I was 2 or 3. We had a wire recorder and I can remember him coaxing me to sing it. I even remember my voice a little. He died when I was 4 and he was 40. I think he gave me my life long love of singing. I’ve always wished he could have known how many good things he left behind that got me through life without him.

My sister passed away from Lewy Body Dementia, after 7 years. It's plax in your brain, that destroys your brain cells at an accelerated level. 4 years , round the clock care m st her house in Ridgefield, CT. The last 3, at the assisted living facility, The Residence, in Darien, CT. The brain , is very fragile and anything Neurological, is difficult for families.

Thank you for sharing, being so bravely honest, and for providing some hope and comfort. My father has Alzheimer's and my mother is starting to show signs of Dementia. As my siblings and I are spread around the world I am currently the one taking care of my parents. This is a reminder that it's not all dark, to celebrate the moments of light, and that we can always hope to deal with a possible future with grace and dignity. So thank you.

Oh my precious sister Jane. You are/were perfect to me all my life. When I say perfect, it was thru my eyes. Now you are locked away from everyone and I live 1200 miles away and cannot make that long drive

I've lost my grandparents, my aunt, my sisters, and my dad. I don't know if all of that or me getting older, or both, makes me more emotional. This wasn't easy for me to watch without all the feels.

My mom has Alzheimer's disease as well. She is such as great and normal person, but after the disease's symptoms start to set in, she always wants to 'go home' when she is at home. She would also come out with 'stories' with suspicion on things around her. She is also easily irritated just like the movie 'the Father' . From the video, seems your mom is quite peaceful . We stay with my mom 24/7 so we literally see her every progression. I think once you 'stay' with them, you would see the real suffering of the patient.

What a lovely but poignant story. My mom had early onset Alzheimer’s but as an elite athlete she struggled from age 40 to 72. Thank you and your mom and grandma for sharing it.

Beautiful film. My mother in law has been diagnosed with vascular dementia for 13 years now.
She moved nearer us into sheltered housing soon after being diagnosed.
My wife eventually moved in with her for at least a year. Eventually it was too much for my wife and she had to be homed in a "specialist" dementia home.
    Then COVID.
Apparently the "specialist" home couldn't handle her.
We moved her to our house.
The last 2½ years she has been living with myself and her daughter.
She has been bed bound over a year.
A complete rollercoaster of emotions. Would we do things differently... Probably.
Would we have moved her to ours yes... Only earlier.
    Thanks Nicole

My grandmother had Alzheimer's for about 13 years so I didn't really get to know her as a person (she passed away last year when I was 15) so this is very very familiar to me. I think it's horrible to watch someone you love slowly dying, slowly forgetting everything and everyone they once knew. It hurt to watch my grandfather so sad all the time. He visited her every single day. He told her everything that was going on at the time despite the fact she didn't really understand any of that. I think too many people think of Alzheimer's disease as something innocent, something easy to live with, which it's definitely not and I think people should know about it. Thank you for this video and I'm sorry if my English isn't very good, I'm not native speaker..
