Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" czcams.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

Cool to have these portable versions. No match for the normal hytorc units but very impressive. We used one on a flange with very little room and it made life so much easier without dragging the hoses, pump, extension cords and heads around.
Great stuff Chris. I always say that each tool has its place. Mainly depending on the situation on hand. A tool like this can bail you out in times of critical needs.

Thank you for another Great Video. What are you torquing? 12000 Ft Lbs is serious torque.
Snap-on makes one that goes up to 3,000 foot pounds that is cordless and they also make one that's pneumatic that does over 4,400 foot pounds.
That may be true but that HYTORC LST can go up to 5000 ft-lbs. >>>Tim is using the 3000 ft-lbs version

Well they are all clearly lithium-ion...I think the Li-on guns are Series 1 and the Hy-Torc is Series 2... also it would be interesting to know the Metallurgy and machining that's going on in these tools...

This would be a good tool for truck suspension work like the Mack 44-46k camelback or the Freightliner airliner/low air leaf Peterbilt suspension
The tool is a one inch drive for a very good reason. A 3/4" drive no matter what tool you use won't handle 3000 foot lbs, additionally when using the adapter the geometry of the drive to the reaction arm also will cause additional side load further stressing the 3/4" drive to premature failure.
So I have used a snap on version and when doing breakaway torque it barely pops up the number so can this do breakaway torque and recored it and can it show the number for more then a second
Electronic torque winch will give u the breakaway number for several seconds to document it
I love seeing fancy toys like this and then i see the price tag and remember why theyre fancy

These Hytorc guns are great for smaller fasteners like you're showing. Obviously you've learned that they aren't designed to use with an adapter.

I’ve seen people loose fingers or hands with their hydraulic versions of this when the arm that’s used for leverage let’s go of whatever it’s holding up against. But man they are cool but scary as hell to use haha

@@galvanizedgnome let me rephrase hands/fingers but yeah go try it! The one we use is a 1-1/2 drive and goes to 12,000 ft-lbs I promise when that lets go and your hands are in the way it won’t feel good
@@georgeferlazzo7936 the retaining nut on hydraulic cylinder rod when we do new seals I haven’t done one that tight yet but I’ve had to torque stuff to 9000

Thank you for responding. I have used Hydraulic Torque Wrenches to assemble and disassemble Jet engines. It's been too long since I 've used one. So I don't remember how much torque we used then. 5000 Ft Lbs plus, that is unbelievable for torquing.

Just curious what’s the battery life on these like? In the oilfield I use the hydraulic torque gun by this company on 2inch nuts setting them between 4000-5000lbs. This would be awesome to use over the huge power pack/hydraulic style I use. I usually set 150 or so nuts though at a time. Thanks!
I wonder too. I do wireline so sometimes we have to break a top flange and or put one on. The hammer wrench or the torque and test guys stuff is slow.. I wonder we we could just zip em on
I doubt it would hold up well to repeated 4000-5000ftlbs of torque, my guess is they will say 3000ftlbs working which actually translates into 2000ftlbs for everyday use without stressing the thing.
I never run my tools at max, other than my ratchets which are snap-on so when they snap-off, snap-on fix them for free.
Have you had any issues with these torque guns? For our shop, we're looking into options to replace the B-RAD type of guns, as we've h ad to get them repaired too many times. We also have a Hytorc series 3000, but it too is currently broken, but with a different issue.
We are looking for something really robust and can handle a lot of duty. Any advice?
My thoughts are that the HYTORC is probably the best and most durable. I also like that their headquarters are in NJ. Have you checked with HYTORC on the repairs?
@@Shoptoolreviews We are actually up in Canada, but it could be that who we send it to, might send our current one to them. Hopefully the repair wont' be too bad, as it seems to be a faulty switch.
I'm still in the process of researching these, and other options - for our shop, we might just try for a corded version, and put the cordless types for the field guys. We have much higher demand for operation in shop.

LOL and the effect on your bank account could be called "violent" LOL Only a battery comes up on ebay so this must be way beyond the average viewers consideration! Great video though. I have been thinking of making my own of sorts, of course without the precise instrumentation, I had no idea it was a production item already till your video.

Hi John. HYTORC doe have an 1 1/2" square drive model that goes up to 5,000 ft lbs.
There are different ft-lbs output for the same tool. Tim was using the 3000 ft-lbs series tool

So I'm thinking, if these things are used to set these high torques for testing, why not just use it as the actual tool.

It's just a battery powered torque multiplier. I don't like it's chances of doing 5000ftlbs and 3000ftlbs would be pushing it in my opinion, I can see it doing 2000ftlbs day in day out but push it and those planet gear teeth will start to wear.

@xXDannySilvaXx it's hard to see where any mechanic would need to spend this I imagine it has a use but even having built some pretty serious stuff I can't see why you'd ever not have air.
