      Hello Nina, I would suggest "everything matters" in duet with the French singer Pomme. It has been recently posted.

      All of them xD. Personally I like "Heathens", "A Temporary High" and "You keep me Crawling" the most even tho all of them are amazing. It is honestly worth it to rewiev the whole album at once.

      Every ppl has his own favorites but I especially love: Everything Matters, Inhale Exhale, Blood in the Wine, Dangerous Thing, The Innocent. Also love Heathens and You Keep Me Crawling. And can not tell there is a song I dont like :). Generally whole album is different than her previous ones but for me great as usual. There are also much variety on this one and different production/sound than on previous ones.

    Thanks for your reaction and thoughts! Aurora’s comment on the video, after someone mentioned the short prep time for these P3 cover song performances:
    “Yes we rehearsed around 15 minutes for this!”
    Enjoy The Gods We Can Touch 😊 (and rather than watching the lyric videos, have a reliable lyrics website open. Quite a few errors in the lyric vids)…

    She is the Storyteller, and that folky style is so suitable for her storytelling and her voice. Again she draws us in, and we are mesmerized. Now you can look forward to her fantastic new album. Contains so many lovely songs and you can watch Aurora and Pomme live doing Everything Matters, Heathens Vevo live and Giving in to the Love, video. But in fact, the whole album is magnificent. 😁

  • @roegoleg

    On first hearing, I also heard that breath that she took and held. I think she actually caught herself jumping ahead to the next verse and had to abruptly pause to stay in time. But in Aurora fashion, she made it part of her performance. I like to think that her wry smirk at the end is her acknowledgment of her mistake of which she proudly embraces with no shame as she often does when it happens in other live performances.

  • @RunarNyrud
    @RunarNyrud Před 2 lety +3

    Aurora commented that this was performed after 15 minutes of rehearsal, so my guess is that is was a type of "cover challenge" by the radio station...

  • @WhiteTiger333
    @WhiteTiger333 Před rokem +1

    I just love how she turned a showy, disco romp into a story that we were hanging on to know what happened next, and really feeling the heartbreaking history of the dynamic of the Queen and Rasputin. Someone else's song and lyrics, but her special, special energy.

    Lovely reaction Nina! I think Aurora was happy after this performence because it was under one hour since she heared this song for the first time. Moust of Auroras covers on NRK P3 is made as so called "challenges". She and her band comes to promote one of her own new songs, and is given this challenge in addition. To make a cover of a song not known from before under an hour.

      @@ninaschofield Aurora wrote in the youtube comments they only rehearsed ~15min on this song. This cover was not planned and rehearsed before, it is something they do on this NRK P3 radio station. Same thing with "God Is A Woman" and "Believer" she did years ago on P3, though some people has said they rehearsed up to 1 hour back then 🙂
      I'm not sure how well Aurora knew this song in advance, or if she knew it at all.
      You can see her reading the lyrics in the beginning at 1:09 in this reaction video (0:04 in original video), and again at 3:43 (1:07 in the original).
      The extra pause/breath at 3:53 (1:19 original) I think is her almost forgetting the lyrics, and also the reason for the missing word at 2:12 (0:54 original), since the phrase: "There was a cat that really was gone"
      is pretty weird today because it is 1970s jazz slang. I also had to look up what it meant, even though I was born in the 1970s: "He was a very cool dude that was crazy / out of this world"
      I think it is amazing they put this version together in 15min even with those small mistakes, and it is so refreshingly different from the original.
      It is not meant to be a flawless "official" release of the song, it is just something they do for fun in this live radio show.

    I am not normally one who prefers the cover to the original, except for a few exceptions like Johnny Cash Hurt. But this version of Rasputin to me is better than the original one and that dance remake, she some how tells a different story of Rasputin but with the same lyrics. I do like her cover of Oasis Half the world away too

    I saw an interview where she taljs about not using autotune because she looses control. No proof of her never missing tones, but if she wants to put emotions into a song and «miss» a tone I suspect using autotune might screw up her intention?:-) (not very eloquent but hopefully pissible to understand. Thank uou for a great reaction!👌👍🙏🏼😊

    3:53 I don't think that was intentional, but a small dropout. I think she took a breath to hang a few notes on it like in the first verse and quickly changed her mind. Or at this point there were no notes at all this time, which she forgot for a short time. I think that's what it looked like and that would be fit for Aurora. The perfect imperfect. 😁

    Honestly I think that big breath in the middle was a "mistake" and she was about to sing something else. That would not be surprising considering that, if I'm not mistaken, she had less than 1 hour to prepare this cover (supposedly even less than that). Anyway, brilliant performance, and great analysis :) As for her new album, personally, my top 3 would be : Everything Matters, Blood in the Wine, and A little place called the moon, hoping to see you review the whole thing anyway ;)
