- With eight Douglas, for spars to fall guilty of treason and game of trees, put their best effort toward demonstrating the fine art of the Humboldt filling technique. Come along and share the experience of these nearly unedited demonstrations that are sprinkled with some good camaraderie and friendship, and a few “atta boys”. 😀 don’t forget to visit www.gameoftrees.com where all of your purchases help support our Guatemala project.

those are such large trees! 42” bar was short WOW great job falling the trees! all safely too!
Nice video i love doing Humboldt's very nice cuts guys... I thought i saw you working today in a spider lift by the lake. Would be an honor to meet you some day. Work safe guys.
Height difference between the top of the Humboldt and the back cut:
In Denmark we don't use Humboldt a lot, but we have a height difference between the back cut and the bottom of the initial cut. That gives a much more flexible hinge - the fibres last much longer, and you can control the tree better.
Good tips
If you're milling the tree, it's also important to pull out fibres from the stump and not the stem. The height difference secures that. A mature tree is normally felled with a height difference of 5 cm ~ 2 inches.
Thanks a lot for your channel, Kevin! I'm learning a lot about tree work i USA and also about climbing which is not my domain ;)
Nice work, Jake!
When the puppy and the master come together🙏
AAAaaand Jake IS the master! And Happy New Year to both of you tree slammers!
Enjoyed the video. Nice felling. Where's the climbing, limbing, rigging.....etc? Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅☃❄🌨
😃 there will be other videos 😃
The hinge wood on that first tree looked a little skimpy. Does having a pull line at the top let you go deeper with that back cut? I am just a home owner watching youtube videos so I don't crush my house or barn when I cut a tree down. So far so good. 1 for 1.
That would not have been sufficient hinge Wood for a full tree. This was a standing spar of about 40 feet, which doesn’t require as much hinge Wood to remain..
@@GameofTrees Awesome videos. You guys do amazing work.
Nice job lads, Where's the spare chains? ...should always have a few back ups for long bars. Yeah try some of our dirty stinkin pops here they grow at bloody 45 degs or most stuff doesn't grow that tall just sideways😂
Tell me about it. My home Wisconsin has its share of those sideways trees😃
Are the logs going to a saw mill to be cut into lumber
Are you sure this isn’t Jacob of Guilty of treeson?
Did you start a new channel?
collaboration with Jacob (GOT) Guilty Of Treeson
Yes, it is footage from a recent visit with him. We have become good friends. It’s our third collaboration.
Good way to burn up a saw running a dull chain. That sprocket is probably pretty hot.
Sprockets are easy to switch compared to square filed chain. He was making sure he was past the problem before risking another square filed chain.
@@GameofTrees I get it but you heat the chain, transferring heat to the sprocket, transferring heat to the crank burning up the needle bearing. I’d risk wasting another chain rather than risking burning up the saw.
LOL!!! That chain isn’t dull
@@runtimmytimerespecially when he could of just grabbed that 500 and made another face and back cut higher or lower than the original, instead of trying to burn the stem down with that dull 395.
I never can hit my undercut.😢
I’m getting better but it’s a process
Should not feel bad then touted Jacobs best and he did not hit a single one without cleanups.😂
How do you like the 500i? Funny comment, "Was that a square chain?" after hitting metal and that Mike could salvage chain, early in AM.
Jacob actually had another chain for that one at home if I remember correctly. I liked the 500i. His was ported, of course. I think every saw he has is ported.
Got your Christmas Card by the way. Merry Christmas. Nice family photo. Lisa is mailing a bunch today so you should get it in a couple of days. Our empty best was fully crowded last weekend with 36 people all 12 children and grandchildren on a sleepover. 😃
@@GameofTreesif CZcams has taught us anything it is that porting is required on any chainsaw before it’s capable of doing any work at all. 😎😂
(All of mine are ported too. I buy my pro saws as basketcases and build them to put into service because I’m cheap and like spending my day at work with hotrodded saws! 😂😂)
So this guy you're contracting for...he doesn't climb, he doesn't have a bucket, he doesn't fall stems...what's he doing in the industry? Sorry, I know thats not the point of the video, but that's a giant thorn in my side
I kind f operate from an abundance position. If someone has a connection on a lead and I can help them fulfill that lead, it’s a win/win. We could have left the fellable trunks, but we wanted to do a video:). We actually left the biggest trunk because the 42 inch chain got toasted 😃
@@GameofTrees you're by far the better man than I. I don't feel that person should be marketing tree services. I don't go around soliciting wedding cakes for people...know what I mean?
Mabey, he's starting out ass hat.
Mabey, he got injured.
Mabey he's all alone in this world with no one to help him.
Mabey, he doesn't have a wife or daddy to buy him a bucket truck.
Mabey he has a great attitude like our channel owner and Billy Ray who made his axe.😉
Again...all that melodramatic saw sight watching, axe wedge banging, hummmmm fkn bolt cuttin, furrowed eye brow creating, pats on each other's back slappin, tedious editing, youtube posting, work subcontractin, fancy clothes dressing, small time company GOT naming, saw idling, saw revvin, saw dullin, fiber tearing, low income property working.....when you could, as said in the past, just strip the damn bean pole on the way up, blow the top, LEAVE A FRKN LINE IN THE TOP, and then pull over the easy to drop stick with NO drama. "Uh...I forgot to shut the saw off so you could hear the wood tearin". . You hit a piece of metal at 4' on a tree trunk in a backyard!!! Just a giant surprise there. Help...help I cain't stand anymore (fabricated) drama!?!?
Thanks for adding the comment Dave. By your detailed description it appears we held your attention the entire time 😃
