  • Olympia is no longer for sale by JMYS.
    Olympia is a 2014 Kadey Krogen 55 Expedition yacht. She is offered for sale by her original owner who has meticulously maintained her. Olympia’s spacious interior, storage and ease of boarding/disembarking make her an excellent live aboard, full-time cruising vessel. In addition to the port and starboard boarding doors at cockpit sole level, Olympia has two port and starboard access points on the bow and two more port and starboard access points on the Portuguese bridge. The walk-in, full height engine room has three accesses: primarily through a full size door in the guest head, through two hatches in the saloon sole and down a short flight of steps through the lazarette. Her owner has cruised her extensively from the Bahamas (including Eleuthera and the Exumas) to Maine.
    Olympia is an excellent vessel for the active owner operator couple. Her generous size offers spacious quarters for full time live aboard, entertaining and hosting guests. Guests will appreciate the private accommodations with separate head.
    Her all cherry interior layout features two staterooms: a forward, full beam master with ensuite full head and a spacious guest room with twin beds. Another full head is a step across the companionway from the guest stateroom. The walk-in engine room has stand up head room for easier service and inspections with central access to both engines. The large, upper level pilothouse has 360-degree visibility and is equipped with two Llebroc helm chairs and a refrigerator/freezer. The spacious entry level saloon is wrapped in warm cherry and features two custom leather club chairs, an L-shaped settee covered in Ultraleather, a bookcase, a cherry hi-lo table that opens to easily seat eight for dinner and can be moved outside for al fresco dining, a 57-bottle wine refrigerator and copious storage. The large, L-shaped gourmet galley is ideal for preparing meals for two or for a crowd. The galley is equipped with top of the line, full size appliances, including a Jenn Air refrigerator with French doors (including an ice maker), GE Profile microwave/convection oven, Blue Star four burner propane range, GE Profile dishwasher, granite countertops, double rolling trash containers, and a large stainless steel sink.

      Sergio: Yes the 55 stands for 55 feet, but she is larger than that. Most trawler builders base the designation on length on deck, but the bow roller and swim step make them several feet longer in overall tip to tip.

    The machine room is fantastic but the lack of any contrasting color in all of that wood work in the interior would drive me a bit batty after awhile, still a nicely (if a bit oddly) outfitted boat however, I'm sure her new owners love her though.

    Why is it every place but Italy use the words galley,head, stateroom, hanging locker. You go to Italy and and many boat owners use words of what things really are like kitchen,bathroom,bedroom, closet and sometimes they will even call what many call the helm the cockpit while other call the stern deck the cockpit you operate and drive things from a cockpit you do not drive or operate a boat from the stern deck other than docking. These rich people fancy words that make no sense while rich Italian yacht and boat charter people are usind common words that everyone knows atleast all the ones I have ever known or seen

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Před 2 lety +2

      Mr. The nomenclature of boats is a tradition. Why is left called port? Didn't know that in Italy they use home terms on boats. Hey a toilet is a head, why? I'm just explaining in the language that I know others expect to hear when describing a boat. I'm sure I'd hear comments correcting me if I called the galley a kitchen. Does it really matter?

  • @DanielC__
    @DanielC__ Před 3 lety

    This is a nice boat but it’s been GROSSLY overpriced. On the market for almost 2 years, when does the owner finally “get it”? Obviously a stubborn owner who values his property far in excess of the market. If I’m going this high sorry, I’m buying new with full warranty’s.

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Před 3 lety

      STI: Asking price is a starting point, most boats don’t trade at full price. I don’t agree that she is grossly overpriced, only one person will be lucky enough to be the buyer. Eventually the right buyer will come up with the right price and they will get to sail her away.

    • @DanielC__
      @DanielC__ Před 3 lety

      @@JeffMerrillYachts It stands to reason that a boat on the market for 2 years that hasn’t sold, assuming it’s not physical or mechanical, is price. Market demand is driven by price. This boat had been reduced over 25% since first listed and still not sold. That is a prime example of grossly over priced.

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Před 3 lety +1

      @@DanielC__ Supply and demand. This is a great boat that people aren't aware of, they haven't built that many. Compared to a new 55 this one is a huge deal, ready to go, no wait. There is nothing wrong with this boat and if it is one you are interested in you should make an offer.

      Your comment is comical, you appear to be angry about the price....well then don't buy it. No one is being forced to buy this vessel. If the owner wanted 25 million for it what difference does it make? A thing is only worth what someone will pay for it....the owner wants the maximum price and is happy to not sell it for less...good luck to them.
