Mazda looks better than bmw.
😂.
Since 2016 Mazda has been on this unstoppable upward trend. Love their product!
More like 2012-2014 when they released the cx5 and much improved versions of the 6 and 3.
@@zondaboy6493 true
@@zondaboy6493 exactly, my father fell in love with de 2013 cx5, amazing suv!
I have a Mazda 6
I’m an owner of a Cx60 diesel 254hp. I’ve just arrived from Germany to Catalonia and it has only consummed an impresive 5.6 litres. This could be another important difference between both cars that I wish to be compared in a further video test. The only thing I can say is that I’m really happy and satisfied. The sound of the doors does’nt cost 20k, mainly if you don’t have and X3 to compare them. 😉😉😉
Consumption is very depending . I drive a 13 year old BMW 530das and when I cruise on the highway through Germany , I have been down to 5.1 litres and that is for a 3 liter engine . However in town it can easy go to 15 litres.
in town, 256hp mazda takes 4.x litres@@Spock105
not only " The sound of the doors", BMW got also better soundproof, better steering (not on the straight road ofc), real exhaust 😉, better dynamics, better side exterior design (just look how poorly mazda looks from side), fast computer and multimedia ( just watch how slowly and laggy it works on Mazda compare to BMW 😉 ), better materials and it can fold second row seats in flat without moving front seats (unable to do this in Mazda surprised me alot).
So yeah, better car costs more. 😉
ride quality in x3 over mazda history
@@Chillburger😂😂😂
Mazda for me... Its much rarer and just looks more unique... Plus I have always liked mazda reliability and build quality... Especially the 3 litre diesel will be absolutely fantastic...
Why on earth would you still buy a diesel
@@JPB69420 Why not buy a diesel ?
I think you are spot on regarding the Mazda; a little to stiff, a little jerky transmission, and vonderfull interior! I have driven mine 30000km for nearly a year and I love it, average fuel consumption is 2,7L/100km. In Sweden there is a waranty of 10 years or 150000km that Volvo or the germans cannot match, so easy pick for me!
Thanks for the feedback!
Whattt 150K kilometers? Thats crazy
2,7 liter so you drive 80% on electric engine short distances
i believe mazda has start rolling a recall for CX60 suspension updates to be replaced with improved one, have you get it?
Damn my consumption on my old Bmw 21l/100km 😂
Mazda CX-60 looks so good from every angle. If I was in the market for this kind of car, the CX-60 would definitely be my pick.
This review must be seriously, and happily received by Mazda engineers, and they will improve things as possible as they can, in relatively short period.
As a Japanese, I can’t wait how far Mazda can go!😀
Dont bmw trust their cars with only 3 years warranty? Mazda has 6!😊 Mazda better quality and 17000€ cheaper! No brainer! Take the Mazda 🎉
Because BMWs are not reliable
Get rid of the BMW at 150.000km because it will fall apart.
The Mazda can be driven until you're too old yourself.
I'm really disappointed that Thomas is choosing his trousers to match the colour of the cars he is given to test, instead of the manufacturers supplying their cars in Thomas Blue
True🤣
My day is ruined
I have not noticed but I apriciete those beautiful passenger legs...
Hilarious 😂
Hoping to meet Thomas one day…..
I am a very BMW fan, but these Mazdas really look good, with great quality.
I watched this review with especial interest because it more or less repeats a trade off I made earlier this year. I found the review a great detailed comparison. In my case I chose the Mazda CX60 PHEV because the BMW did not appear to me to offer €17k worth of extra premium. The BMW is clearly the better car as Thomas rightly concludes but not €17k better. So at what price point premium would I choose the BMW. At a €5k premium the BMW would be a no brainer, but where between €5k and €10k would tip the balance? At over €10k the Mazda is the clear winner for my circumstances, especially as I am able to make heavy use of its somewhat better EV range and charge at home (with PV renewables).
What this comparison does help us do is ask what premium characteristics are enough and at what price? I think this will set a natural upper limit on how far premium brands can continue to move upmarket without regard to price in pursuit of profit. Before long they are going to have to return to doing more with less, if only because Asia led by China is coming if not already here.
A final point is that if the comparison had been made with the comparable Mercedes instead of the BMW, the Mercedes would have lost even at zero price premium based on its completely unworkable interior UI/UX experience.
very interesting. I'd question though about the cost savings to you of the free power u do get w/ your home energy set up, which is very sweet ,but i wonder how much savings that really would be in the differential between the two cars (such a thin one).
@@18_rabbit
To be absolutely clear, the savings would be a lot less without our home renewables where the marginal cost of a fill up is zero. Breakeven with diesel in the UK at the moment occurs when electricity is about £0.70kwh. Our peak rate at home from the grid is £0.34 and our off peak rate is £0.19, so there are savings to be had with electricity from the grid. However when you have to charge using the public charging network typical charges can be between £0.50 and £1.00, in which case savings become marginal and the nuisance of having to find a charger and then wait around for charging become more pronounced.
I would not have a PHEV let alone a full EV if I had to rely on public charging at the moment, given the higher capital costs of any sort of EV.
In Australia the BMW ends up being cheaper on the back pocket considering the cost of fuel vs electricity, rebates etc
I have two Mazda one 2023CX5 GT and one cx30 GS in Canada, I also test drove X3 as well. Here is my comment and experience. Performance and mechanical wise BMW is far ahead. But in terms of what you pay and what you get Mazda is winner. Mazda has amazing build quality, to me more attractive cabin and dashboard, Best handling in its class. Low cost maintenance also great exterior design. Onething that makes all BMWs well ahead in terms of performance is the 8 speed ZF trans. This thing makes these bad boys well ahead. To me Mazda is better all around vehicle
Good aspects.
True, but you miss on one thing, price. In Australia this cx60 is around 80k, now who would spend 80K on a mazda? when you could get a bmw, merc or audi for that price. BMW has more brand value and better overall imo.
@@scorpioM56here in Canada this is called cx90, I think thomas had to compare CX5 signature with X3 base
Cx5 is cheaper and smaller actually - but imho the better Mazda
@@scorpioM56You need to consider that the Mazda CX60 Phev in top Azumi trim is 91K drive away with no options.
Or 78k lowest spec drive away. BMW equivalent in this test is 120k drive away before options that’s 30k difference or 42K respectively 😳
If you want a 6 cylinder the CX60 in top spec no options 79k X3 is 140k no options 61K difference😳😳😳
You need to really ask is the X3 30k,40k or 60k better?
The notion that it’s expensive for a Mazda is a mute point when you consider the price of all new cars these days and the Germans especially know how to take people for a ride.
I guess the pricing and engine options vary depending on country. But in Australia the Mazda is so much cheaper like 20k and that is also with 3.3 inline 6 turbo vs a 2.0 4 cylinder BMW. Its even cheaper than 3 cyliner BMW X1.
You must understand that Mazda is not a competition to the BMW'S. It's bigger engine doesn't make it a competitor at all,as there are many cars with bigger engines than a BMW,Audi or Merc but are not in the same league. Mazda competes with the likes of Genesis and Lexus.
@@mayormsuthu1465U r right. The manufacturers like Mazda and Genesis need to give customers more things than German premium cars to make sure their selling figures.
@@mayormsuthu1465 that doesnt make sense as Lexus is direct competition to the German 3 and Genesis is getting there quickly.
@@mayormsuthu1465How do you define "league"?
@@ravenheart369 BMW needs repairing/ service more often and thats the reason Mazda, Lexus are not on the same league with BMW
Mazda has really stepped up their game!
No, is just a wannabe brand 🤡
@@alexrey8035wannabe what??????
@@alexrey8035Stupid comment.
No they haven't. The plug-in hybrid system is pretty bad. The interior looks great but the door closing sounds is unacceptable. I love mazda but the CX-60 is a big miss.
@@Matt_Curlew what exactly is bad about the hybrid system? It has good acceleration and people report impressive low consumption. As for the door closing sound is actually good (just not as good as BMW) . Also the door closing sound can be improved at a sound insolation shop for a few hundred $.
Great video,,for me as a 2015 cx5 owner i will take mazda any day because i really know what reliability means,,mine now is 145k miles and strong to go,,the bmw is great no doubt,,
Dont jump that hard. My Mazda 3 2.2d from 2017 is already clogged at 150000km . Need to change the oil pump.
@@mapsandnavigation433 That 2.2 engine is not even a Mazda engine. It's from Ford. With how many engines did BMW had issues in the last 20 years? Planty! From the 2.0 diesel to 5.0 V10. Mazda is the more reliable brand
@@silimarina. I agree very much. In term of engine reliability, Japanese automakers always overcome and cannot be matched by the european or american automakers. This is fact and acknowledged worldwide. Where for Interior design and quality, Japanese automakers must learned from European. In this comparison, the X3 win on some points, but for overall Mazda more worthy. Not to say BMW X3 not good, but they have to learn many things, instead of brand luxury image nowday.
I agree! I am the owner of a 2013 CX-5 which has done 165k kms, and it has amazing reability and never had any problems. Even the spark plugs never asked to be replaced
I am planning to update my cx5 2015. But not sure which mazda to upgrade
Both cars are great. The battery is noticeable bigger in the Mazda and 55 to 65 km can be achieved specially if the car is not totally new. I have complained to the dealer about the road noise and the suspension being on the stiff side. They replaced the 4 shock absorbers added insulation to the doors and made a bunch of software updates. It runs smoother, it became more silent. The transmission still does some strange things on low speed but very rarely. Seems that Mazda is trying hard to perfect their CX-60.
I have owned both BMW and Mazda cars. When it comes to driving, Mazda easily does better than most other brands, but BMW is still way more refined. CX-60 is a great alternative to X3.
Too bad about bmw reliability which has not improved over the years. Not to mention overpriced
6 cylinder diesel is a huge win for mazda
Hi Thomas, good review again! I actually had to make this decision. After 4 years of BMW 330e (buying it after watching your review back then!) and 30 years of VW/Audi/BMW, I now for the first time decided to buy the Mazda. I ordered the CX60. PHEV works for me and the Mazda has a bit more battery capacity, allowing me the do my daily work run completly electric. My max budget is about 62-63k Euro. X3 in the Netherlands would be 85k+ in not even the same trim. So, I could only consider the X1 (we want to move to SUV), but the X1 PHEV is not the drivetrain from my 330e, but it is a 3 cilinder petrol, and that is not acceptable for me for a 60k+ vehicle! Also BMW took the 'druck-dreh-schalter' out of the X1 which I hate. I loved it in the recent two bmw 3's and the two A4's I drove. The Mazda still has that, and also more phycical buttons then the X1 to. This, combined with the larger boot, the 17kW battery and 50 liter fuel tank plus the premium feel I got, made me make the step. To be clear; I fully understand the differences you point out and I am willing to pay a bit more for that (always have done), but this difference is just to big. I also agree that having some sportseats on the pricelist of the Mazda would have been better (I saw you had the sports-seats in the M equiped X3 and I also enjoy those in my BMW 🙂). So, I am am curious how it will work out! In 3-4 years I will have driven 200k with the Mazda, let's see (will be delivered in September). Keep on doing the good work, you do very top reviews. Best regards, from Holland. Gerrit
Thanks for the extensive feedback 😎
Good report - I'm also looking for something to replace my 330e M Sport Touring and the CX-60 is top of the list. I prefer estate/touring cars to be honest, but SUV's seem to be so popular in the UK that estate cars are going out of fashion. The CX-60 is cheaper for company car tax since it has a longer electric range which is a HUGE bonus for anyone having a car through their company in the UK.
We appreciate the finer details you mention (door closing sound, key feel, window opening sound, interior quality). For me this is one of the highlights of your channel 👌
Thanks keep tuning in! 😎
Holy cow, what is this world coming to. 80k for a non M X3. THAT’S INSANE. What will be the breaking point because people can’t afford these things.
Wow Thomas, You are a prefectionist. Your attention to little details like Window's opening sound..surprising me, also the narrow leg room in the second row always be a homework for Mazda's SUV line ups. For those, I agree with you. But in interior, we must admit Mazda done a very great job, making the X3 interior looks so ordinary. Another thing, when you accelerate full thorttle, The mazda engine's sound more hoarsely than X3. I think both cars are great. BMW luxury image still no compromise, but if you look for another perpectives like less expensive luxury and a driver oriented car, good performance, also more efficient gasoline, I think Mazda CX-60 is worthy. I like BMW, but their Double Kidney Grill is getting bigger along the time give a weirdo look and their interior design not change much in a couple of decades. I think they can make their interior look better than this.
But anyway, thank you for your honest and elegent review.
Note : Those pretty legs on the passanger side give an extra credit and beauty in this review.
Thanks for the feedback m8 😎
You’re speaking more clearly now than in your older videos. Great review! Keep it up!
Excellent review. It was a comprehensive and objective one indeed. In particular the summary at the end highlighting the strength & weakness of both vehicles. 👍
Reliability as well as repair & maintenance costs should be considered as well. Mazda is a much better value.
Yes, Mazdas are quite reliable.
You are one of the best motor journalists, if not the very best. I love your attention to details and your unbiased reporting. Loved the video.
thanks! Feel free to share!
Tomas I am just glad you keep doing this type of comparison video. Love also you are taking your love one along the ride
I'm a BMW fan and owned a 325i and in the 90's but I'm in love with the current generation of Mazda specially the CX-5 and now the CX-60 and CX-90 With 20k deference from the Bimmer I would go for Mazda any time even I can afford the 20k deff. but reliability and maintenance cost should be taken into consideration more importantly.😂😂
Maintenance cost for the BMW is so much higher
I would choose the Mazda. Its interior I much nicer, but Mazda's reliability and maintenance cost wins it.
@1159 Thomas, yes absolutely I pay attention to those details. The fact that you took the time to compare how the window operation differs between these two vehicles is one of the many reasons I subscribe to your channel. Thank you for keeping gearhead (petrolhead?) spirit alive, Sir!
What an excellent review. Thank you, Thomas. Balanced and fair, whilst concisely telling us what separates the cars. I have enjoyed all of your reviews, Thomas, and have used them to help me with car purchases in the past. Keep up the good work. Thank you 💪👍👍
Thanks 😊 🙏
another one fantastic comparisson, thank you for this deep review sir!
Watched driving section twice because of legs :)
😄
Outstanding review, thank you 🙏🏽
Fantastic review, please do more like these comparisons between cars and on the german autobahn :D
Cheers!
I would choose the Mazda.
20k more for the BMW is for the hardcore BMW fans.
Mazda is doing a tremendous job.
Their cars are so good and pricing is fair too.
Including 6 years warranty!
Comprehensive, objective, honest review....as ever. 👍
Highly appreciated!
As a CX60 owner in Australia my only annoyance with the CX60 is the suspension when on bumps. It does feel bouncy when going over bad roads. Thankfully it happens rarely but still an issue.
I feel you. The same is here in Japan. I hope they would fix it around the time when CX-80 is released.
There are plenty of bad roads in Australia.
I approached the dealer with the issue and they fitted the car with new shock absorbers and added insulation to the four doors. The improvement is substantial. Here in Europe this is not a recall however if you complain they do this upgrade for you. Maybe it works the same in Australia!
@@rudy7631 That's cool, honestly they could probably offer that as a service and it shouldn't be too expensive as long as they don't stretch the margins.
Maybe the stiffness adds to the handling in some way.
I'm picking up mine in 2 weeks here in Melbourne.
Mine will hardly see a shit road unless I'm out in the country which is less than twice a year.
I'm willing to put up with a slightly stiff set up for more a confident drive.
That said for $75k AUD Mazda should have added some adaptive damping. No idea why they didn't. Maybe the Japanese know why they engineered it this way. I don't think they spent time in Australia with it to tune the set up to our roads.
It's a sick car for the money and a better proposition than a very basic X3 with a gutless 4 cylinder Turbo.
I would like to see the comparison with the Inline 6 Skyactiv X Engine 3L when it comes out next year.
It might completely shift into Mazda's favour considering the less weight and a better linear acceleration/stopping -
Hearing that they started replacing shocks for all CX-60 owners for free and putting these new shocks on the New CX-60 models.
Would be nice to a updated video of the comparison by next year spring.
For their 1st year CX-60 model - Pretty decent from Mazda - Hope to maybe get CX-60/CX-80 4 years down the line when Mazda polishes up their new SUV line up as Mazda price/performance/quality nothing beats it
Well done Thomas!
Which color in actual is best for the CX-60 diesel variant, Platinum Quartz or Rhodium White?
For me, its quite difficult if i have to choose between these 2..both of them are my fave brands and cars..and your review is absolutely good..thank you for sharing this to us
Thank you for your detailed and very well-presented comparison of Mazda CX-60 and BMW X3.
Thanks 🙏
The window opening sound is also present on the CX-30. Same for the door closing sound. Apparently they didn't fix that in the CX-60.
Excellent presentation as usual by this gentleman, highlights the points thats matter to buyers. Congratulations to this man!

That's funny... The Distraction Alert! Love that feature.
Yes I'm looking out for as many details as you notice as possible!
Thanks for the review . I have had my Mazda cx 60 Gt model plug in for two weeks great car to drive and beautiful finish even with the luxury tax with apples to cars over $70000 in Australia I think it is value for money
Hi Thomas, can I have the request of comparison between Mazda CX60 and Lexus NX?
good review,
Hi Thomas, would you say the Mazda or Volvo XC60 T6 Hybrid is the better car? Choosing between those at the moment. I prefer comfort and silence.
It depends on what range you want and expect. Here in Sweden there is a lot of xc60s with the hybrid drive. There have been reports of a few problems with the charging in the winter and the ride being harder due to the extra weight of the battery compared to the regular xc60. But if you live in Sweden Volvos hold their value incredibly well. Mazda in terms of reliability is better most often then not. I have tested the cx60 and it’s more comfortable but the seats in the Volvo is clearly better. You should test both.
11:50 Detailed reviews are valuable to consumers as you fearlessly list the good, bad and ugly points of each car. Your no nonsense reviews are truly excellent & has placed you in the premier division of reviewers on CZcams. My only criticism Thomas is to avoid attractive colleagues sitting with you as they may distract you. 20:20 Hahaha.
Hard to concentrate with legs and mini skirt in every shot 😂
Quality Finishes. Solid drive . Outstanding Value for your money. ..... I live in NRW, Germany and Im surprised to see how popular this Brand is here
how do they compare to the genesis gv70? I believe you said in a previous review that the gv 70 competes with the macan
What a nice, clear and fact based review
Hello,
can you make a short comparision Mazda CX-60 187 kw versus Volvo XC-60 B5 173 kw? I think that it is a direct competitor and the price 1-year-old Volvo (Volvo select) is the same price as how new Mazda. The power is very similar and the acceleration too...
I think that it could be very interesting.
Thanks for your work
sg
The door closing issue has been resolved, all dealers have a directive when questioned from Mazda to fix the problem with added sound deadening, and has been sorted at the factory...big win, just love opening and closing my doors now....as it was a problem..rest of the car fab, for most drivers and owners the problems are minimal and driving is a pleasure.
Thanks for showing the comparison. Indeed I own the x3 Plug in and enjoy its riding as per said. Just wonder what watch brand u are wearing? So cool..
Thanks 🙏
Alpina
Thomas looking sharp!
Any news as to when the petrol Mazda is coming?
Cheers!
We ll keep u updated on that
Taking into account the lower cost of maintenance, and resale value of the car the Mazda becomes a very tempting option. BMW on the other hand will have a steeper depreciation in the resale value comparatively. However, the badge of a BMW or any luxury manufacturer is something that many buyers would be hard to let go.
The white balance on the camera makes that Mazda wood look yellow. Is it yellow in person?
Great review, but I have a question, is your passenger wearing leather or sensatech😉
Sensatec m8 - and believe me it feels very good 😄
She's very ECO friendly 😂😂😂
Very, very interesting
Are those legs come standaard with the cx 60😂 thomas its always a plessure to watch your video's 😊
👍😎
After 3 years 60,000kms, the Mazda will still be like new with zero defects and problems while the X3 would have had multiple runs to the dealership for warranty repairs
I had 2 cx 5 GT top trim and the seats although hugging were hard on seat over long journeys. Same journeys in my Cx 60 phev and the seats are top class for comfort. No issues with comfort.
Thanks for your objective and thorough review. As a Mazda driver I recognize the faults. Quality of the materials is not very durable on all places. Luckely mine is a company car so after 3 years I can switch. The driving and comfort is great, though.
Thanks for the feedback!
when you consider the fact one is at least 30k more expensive.. i think it does..
So there is no comparison 😂
Just get the cheapest BMW and save the money
@@dragospahontu and you thing the cheapest BMW will give you the same quality as CX-60?

@dragospahontu your last comment really dosent make sense lol.. that's like saying buying the base iphone 14 which is the same price as the s23ultra and say you get a better user experience just because it is from apple..
My two favorite car brands tested by my favorite car journalist. Can it get any better. Like the black and white styling of all three 😂
😎👍
I waited so long for the CX-70 here in the states (still waiting, I don’t know why we’re so delayed in getting this vs Europe and Australia) that I gave up and bought an X3 which I’m happy with, but I prefer the look of the Mazda inside.
My suggestion would be to add a little more info in videos about the comfort of the middle rear seat. For a family of 5 this is a very important topic that most reviews don’t cover. Thanks!
Thanks 🙏 we often do that indeed
Better looking than the BMW and better spec at a lower price.
I just loved how the car told Thomas off for looking at his female passenger.
is it ok to compare CX-60 to VW Tiguan? Especially 2024 Tiguan
Mazda is now the underdog both BMW and Audi were not so long ago . Building reliable, extremely well handling yet affordable vehicles . It seems though Toyota wants Mazda to target Audi first and foremost( we actually have Q5 and CX5, Mazda is way more fun ) thus comparison to BMW is even more impressive
Wdym toyota wants them to? Two seperate companys.
Toyotas has nothing to do what mazda decisions and they way it drives. Please and you have been listening to the wrong people concerning Mazda. Toyota is using the Mazda 2 as the Yaris. Your point?
Toyota has a 5% stake in Mazda. The figure heads are absolutely working together to move their brands forward. Mazda is a niche maker, Toyota is a mass maker. So they don’t actually compete directly on consumers, maybe price and value.
Toller Kanal, toller Moderator.

As always definitely one of the best reviews out there. Such a direct comparison would be amazing between the X3 or GLC and the Genesis GV70. IMO the GV70 and CX 60 both try to attack German midsize SUV market, but each in its own way (Mazdza with advance drive trains and Genesis with its luxury approach)
Thanks 🙏

Thanks for the link, but I meant direct comparison between GLC and GV70
As an Australian, an easy decision for me. Here, Mazda has a better reputation for reliability than BMW and Mazda service costs are far less expensive. And the Mazda dealer/service network is wider. So with all that in mind plus the much cheaper initial purchase price I would take the Mazda without even bothering to test the BMW, despite the claimed minor superiority of the latter in some aspects.
I love the design of Mazda CX60. Looks really good
I had a quick spin last week in a pal's recently purchased Beemer (a 3 Series,) and it was no doubt a lovely thing overall. But one thing was a complete deal-breaker for me - the steering wheel!! It's absolutely huge, like trying to grip a bouncy castle. And I see this new X3 is the same. Why? It removed so much feel; I felt like I was almost hanging on to the car😣
Yeah i understand
You get used to it fairly quickly, then you would’nt want to drive any other steering wheel.
@nasirel964 I agree Minis as well, once you go big steering wheel you don't go back
Give me the Mazda please!!
Mazda has been kicking goals since the 1990s, albeit it with a brief financial hiccup requiring a back-to-basics model lineup, but they have one thing that BMW will never achieve: reliability. 😂
Actually bmw scored 3rd place in consumer reports behind Toyota lexus
Bmw has been scoring high in reliability report recently. Seems they are working on shedding that unreliable image. If they continue this , in a few years their resale value will catch up. So can we say that the 2022 and 2023 bmw is bargain then?
Seems like that - while Merc is going downwards
@@autogefuehl I think MB is struggling with its planned transition to EVs. BMW is viewing BEV as just another power source (right choice and not comprising the essence of its cars) whereas Benz is trying to transition to new platforms (more expensive and threatens to dilute its brand heritage). bMW learned a lot with its i3/i8.
thanks for the review, both have pros and cons, now i'm thinking of fiat panda.
Is there still a 3.0 coming for the CX60 in Europe? The petrol variants in Australia are using the detuned 3.3 petrol . Are Mazda still working on a 3.0?
Mazda blinker sound is kinda harsh and loud. Or is that only on video?
Stop press! KONI make a set of bespoke adaptive dampers for the CX 60 PHEV and Diesel versions. Got mine on order from the dealer, under 1500 EUR fitted and aligned (price in Luxembourg). Suspension warranty is killed, though... Never mind, still going for it.
excellent honest review.
Mazda has come from a long way, just some rough edges wich needs some time to improve.
extra points for the nice legs! 😊
Cheers 😎
I am a BMW fan. That said, with this comparison, I am truly impressed by the Mazda very attractive interior, exterior and price.
That is truly value for money.
Such a good review thank you. I would love these to be based on cars of the same value. I can't see anyone that has the larger amount of money even test driving the Mazda. But a BMW fan with X1 money who actually needs a larger car might, or a least, would have to consider the mAzda.
Cheers keep tuning in!
Having owned a bmw x3 & Mazda cx5 ill go with the Mazda..... Mazda is such a reliable car
CX90 has been tested by the IIHS and is a top safety pick plus by the way!
So, we've got this epic face-off between the two cars, like a gladiator match in the automotive arena. But when it comes to the little things - the door closing symphony and the noise chorus - it's like debating whether you prefer a jazz band or a rock concert in your trunk. And oh boy, that 20k price gap? That's the Grand Canyon of car budgeting! Picture yourself standing at the edge, shouting, "Show me the savings!" 🏞️💸 Now, when it comes to comfort, the BMW might as well have been designed by a grumpy medieval knight - heavy, cranky, and the infotainment system is like a puzzle from a haunted castle. Meanwhile, the Mazda's seats? They're like clouds on wheels, perfect for kings and queens embarking on their long-haul odyssey. For me of course 😊. Why I'm saying these things? Is because I have my own love story with my CX5 and a hate story with a particular Series 5! Mazda is like a romantic comedy starring you and your trusty steed, ready for adventure and happily ever afters! 🎬🚘😄
thanks for the feedback! To me, the CX5 is the better Mazda than the CX60 tbh
I love Autogefühl…I have a 7 month old X3 M40i and the only car that could change my mind would be a VW Touareg R, which I can’t get in California.
Also different class. Touareg is bigger, its the size of the X5.
I will probably take CX-60 3.3 diesel which is, as you said in previous tests, lighter almost 200 kg and handles better than plug-in hybrid. BMW is p better in some things, like door closing sound and especially seat side support, but for 17.000-20.000 euros you can buy another new car. Also, inline 6 is way better than BMWs 4 cylinder 2.0 diesel, in sound perspective, performance and they are comparable in fuel consumption which is realy interesting. I am writing this as I am in process of getting new vehicle and these two are in the top of my list, so I did test drive of both cars. The biggest difference is in the seat side support. I just don't know why Mazda did such "flat seat". Maybe @autogefuehl could ask some Mazda engineers about that at some presentation. I would love to here the answer...
defo better the 6-cyl ICE than the PHEV !
yeah I talked to them about that already and asked them to change it
those seats in the Mazda are ridiculously bad, just only for that could never buy that car. Also sound isolation is very bad.
Mazda is just a better car in every single aspect. BMW or other German brand are just craps.
The only huge disadvantage what Mazda has is the Infotainment System, still laggy, updates are making the system either better or even worser, next to Fords one of the worst out there.
If the lack of bolstering on the CX-60 is a problem, don't get a CX-5, as the seats have zero side bolsters. The CX-9 and CX-90 are much better in that regard.
