When I was younger, I always thought of AJ Styles as a TNA "lifer". He was super loyal to that company. Good on AJ for getting out of there but it shows how incompetent TNA management was that they couldn't hang on to a great talent who loved the company. Every employer should acknowledge loyal, hardworking employees and be aware of the fact that they can always go somewhere else that treats them better.

Yup exactly, AJ was what John Cena & Taker is for WWE. Their loyalty runs deep but cena & taker were taken care of properly. I also did hear Matt Hardy once say he had to go days and upto weeks without getting paid because they kept “losing” his check
I have always been a fan of Jeff and been in similar places with addiction so I get it but that Victory Road will always stick with me and it was a massive slap in the face to TNA and was honestly did massive damage at a time it was already hurting (thanks Hogan and Dixie). AJ leaving sucked but the guy is phenomenal and he deserves to be in the WWE, I just wish he would be in regular top card rotation or used similar to Jericho where you knew he could be there anytime.
It's kinda sad. I still remember his promos where he said he was TNA for life and how he would never work for the "other company" And even people that loyal like him and samoa Joe had to leave because TNA turned into such a dumpster fire.
I love that TNA isn't afraid to show AJ the love he deserves too. Like that 2 hour special of AJ's career they released recently that is a retrospective of what he's done so far. WWE and TNA definitely seem to have a decent relationship, and both have featured wrestlers from the other at times. Hell WWE let both Ric Flair and Christian go over to TNA to be inducted in their HoF, and then WWE brought in Micky as the Impact! Womens Champion with her belt to the womens rumble. I hope we see more WWE x TNA stuff.

I always thought tna was gonna go somewhere, but hogan tried pushing for Monday night wars too soon and bombed the company. Tna shouldve held its spot and try to make it on another day that wwe wasnt apart of. Have its own viewership going larger.
What’s crazy is all they had to do was pay aj as a Main eventer, just like everyone else who was in the main event, but they said not to one of their most popular talent. It’s like if tony would tell mjf no to a fair raise or if Vince told cena no to a fair raise
Didn't even realize what they had. TNA was never gonna be as good of a product as WWE, ever. But in guys like AJ, Joe etc they had the best wrestlers in the world and it made them worth watching. Take that away and they were just a cheap alternative WWE wannabe.
Sad part is that he didn't even want more money. AJ just wanted a new contract on the same money he was alrwady on and they said no. That was the beginning of the end for the company.

If there was another instance of him trying for WWE,then I'm not aware of it. I've kinda been out of the loop since around 2013 or so.
This man is one of the best of my generation. Just saw him in person a few months ago. He opened the show and got a MASSIVE pop. Very well respected. I hope they give him one more worth while run
I have a vague memory of watching AJ in WCW, but I specifically remember a PPV where he beat Jeff Jarrett for the NWA Title with a Spiral Tap. Still feel his best run was in NJPW. That was such an exciting time to be a fan. Went to several War of the Worlds shows here on the east coast.

AJ Styles doesnt need WWE or TNA. They need him. He always stood up to the people who didn't work as hard especially Jeff Hardy in his drinking problem in 2011.
AJ is one of the only ALL-TIME greats for what he's done OUTSIDE of WWE as much as if not more than what he did inside. AJ is the reason I bothered to start checking TNA (I obviously learnt about Sting and the rest over time). But truly AJ is a legend of the art of Entertainment Wrestling!! His match against Cena is one of my favourite of all-time held my breath til the end

The best thing AJ did was go to New Japan. New Japan is where he became a SUPERSTAR and it wasnt that he wasnt already one its that New Japan and ROH allowed him to showcase that.
