When I saw some of these games hanging towards 60 to 80 fps I thought that is totally playable but less than I expected, that is when I realized Ultra settings almost always degrade performance a ton for very little visual gain. I understand the testing methodology of course and when I remembered how you where testing the games I was relieved because the though washed over me that I could just turn the settings to high and turn dlss on quality and be off to the races. Excellent video and thank you so much for sharing, this is not the exact laptop that I am thinking of getting but they are close enough to be somewhat consistent. I dont know if you have ever considered it or actually done it but it would be interesting to see some of these benchmarks run in a good Linux Distro like Pop OS which if you download and install the Nvidia ISO should work flawlessly and require little effort to game on, I have found that a lot of the games that I play actually run BETTER on Linux.

What’s crazy is my gtx 1080 performs almost just as well as this, there’s a couple games where this performs better, but that’s just insane considering my 1080 is 7 years old!

your cpu is a monster you wont have problems with games that depends ok cpu more but if were talking quality and gpu depending you will get the same if not lower cuse of you ddr4 ram

@@Sualpek Idk much about HP Notebooks, but the ASUS Rog Strix G16 is really sick. But in my country it costs way too much and is only available with the more expensive i9-13980HX atm. You don't do anything wrong if you go with the ASUS ^^
don’t get 4050 and 4060 cards, go 4070+ or 3070 ti it’s really cheap and performs better
@@crazygamingyt7245 Its not like Desktop GPU's Bro. ^^ The difference between 4060 mobile and 4070 mobile is insignificant. But if you look on how many FPS the new DLSS 3 Framegeneration gets (what only 4000 series got) then i would not recommend 3000 series cards anymore. In my Country the 4060 mobile is atm the sweetspot, cause it got the same 8GB VRAM like 4070 mobile and just 15% less performance. Nvidia messed up with the 4070 mobile card. And the 3070 ti mobile got half the perfomance if you activate DLLS 3 & FG on a 4000 series GPU. And in the end you can't just say this and that GPU in different Notebooks are better, cause the specified power limit from the manufacturers and even models really counts. A 4070 mobile with less power limit can be worse than a 4060 mobile with maxed out limit.

As long as its over 100w it shouldnt be a problem. There might be 2 fps difference but the rtx 4060 never goes over 100w like 30 series

@@adjiegi 3070ti is definitely better, infact a laptop 3070ti =laptop 4070 in gaming benchmarks. Obviously in games supporting dlss3, like upcoming RE4, 4070 will easily trump 3070ti because of the new exclusive frame generation feature featured in 4000 series rtx cards

@@Thomas-nn9mb Those 1070ti could fit in the palm of your hand too and they didn't use that much more than the 4060 either.
I think 4060M TDP is 115W and TDP of 1070M is 140W. 25W difference 7 years later. Die size is definitely smaller but none of these chips are much bigger than a cheezit cracker tbh.

Not much, the 4050 4060 and 4070 only get diminishing return and doesn't benefit much once you go beyond 105 Watts

What are the disadvantages of DLSS? Obviously we are all going to want to have more FPS so we will always have it activated, I don't understand why they put DLSS as an option, or is there a disadvantage if we have DLSS activated?
There are some miniscule disadvantages with DLSS, for res upscale, when using ultra performance you might get some visual artifacts, because of how the AI try to scale a low rendered version for the game, for the new DLSS 3.0 FG, there might be a small input lag
