I am from Poland and let me tell you one thing: before joining EU, our food was way better. There was no such thing like organic. Everything in the shop was from small local farmers, and there was no plastic at all. Water, lemonade and all other drinks were in glass bottles. Meat was bought and wrapped in paper.
Many farmers were using natural fertilizers and compost. People were fermenting a lot of food for winter (I still do this).
Bread was real and made from flour, yeast (or sourdough) + some sugar (honey) and was filling.
You could buy raw milk and dairy NP.
Today everything is done through industrial farming or brought from countries like Netherlands (greenhouse tomatoes, strawberries and so on).

      Organic arsenic! Just playing.
One there are only ten approved synthetic pesticides. Regular farmers use a lot of organic pesticides just the same.
Oganic farmers can use pesticides that are just as dangerous. One criticism is that organic farmers use MUCH more pesticides, and well... Dosage is what matters isn't it?
Here is a fun quote regarding organic strawberries.
"In addition to these pesticides, organic farms are, in certain circumstances, permitted to use chemicals that are supposedly banned for organic use. One of these is methyl bromide, a fumigant that is used to boost strawberry growth. Although use of methyl bromide was banned several years ago, conventional growers can still use it if no viable alternatives are available. "
So they can even use synthetic for strawberries.
This guy has no clue what he talks about. I've seen multiple posts from him now that are just misleading.
Also remember. Organic foods make a lot of money. For that reason alone. Some studies aren't scientifically unbiased. They are more like advocacy groups making the studies there way.
My advice is read the study.

We are blessed to live on 30 acres where we have two gardens where we grow lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, asparagus, cabbage, peppers (several varieties), green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, green beans, corn, potatoes, strawberries, watermelon, and pumpkins. Have apple and peach trees, too. We use absolutely no pesticides or commercial fertilizers (we have horses, so lots of manure). Other than a few bananas we rarely buy any produce. Eggs, chicken, beef, and pork all come from neighboring farms where we know what they're fed and how they're raised (no antibiotics, and grass-fed finished with grain). Bake lots of pies and zucchini bread/pumpkin bread that also freeze well. We donate a lot of produce to our church that distributes it along with weekly food boxes to those in our community who are in need. But most people can grow at least a few things, even if you live in an apartment. Tomatoes and peppers grow easily in containers, as do herbs and onions. Go to farmers' markets or visit farm stands. You'd be surprised how much cheaper you can often get truly fresh veggies right from the source.

Please review peer reviewed science based researches if it’s really concerning for you and make decisions based on those. I personally stopped going crazy with organic after these. Same health outcomes regardless of the pesticides. Federal regulations limit the rate at which a pesticide is sprayed and the timing before harvest. All for everyones safety. Any minute amount of chemicals in or on the produce will be eliminated by your body with no risk to your health. These compounds are tested for their natural decay levels over time and the plants themselves often breakdown the chemicals before you have a chance to be exposed. Its all very very safe. The benefit of the fresh food regardless of label outweighs any minimal risk of the pesticide.

Almost all "organic" crops have been treated with pesticides. The only way to not have pesticides in your food is to grow it yourself.
Rinsing under water removes a good bit of pesticides.
Also, even with washing with plain water, eating fresh foods and limited processed foods are significantly better for you.
"Organic" and "non-gmo" are excuses for uncharging you.
Really boils down to whether or not you buy locally because freshness is the only thing to ultimately worry about

My guess is to try to get in touch with some local farmers that don't use non-organic pesticides. I used to live in an area like that but since I moved it's much harder to find anything certified organic. Just try your best and if you're able to grow your own produce.

The crazy thing with people is that they pay attention to organic, but buy heavily processed junk and don't pay attention to ingredients on packages. Thank you for always teaching but next time please tell these people about how certain produce absorbs pesticides because people are out here thinking washing solves the problem so thats how they justify getting all inorganic produce. You have to be very clear to these people..

  • @iamportersinger

Clean and “dirty” lists are based on number of different pesticides, not how toxins they are. I wish there were a study that actually reflected HOW MUCH of a toxic load each piece of produce has, rather than simply how many…
Also, worrying about fruits and veggies is literally the LAST place to start cleaning up your diet. Organic meat and dairy is WAY more important!!!
I wish people would add this caveat ❤hen speaking of the “dangers” of conventional produce. It’s still the best thing to eat. Period.

They are still here for the people who aren't so uptight about every damn thing. I mean honestly, how much is eating organic over your entire life going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things? Maybe prolong your life by 1%? Maybe? And that 1% would be at the end when you're pretty useless anyway. I'll take my chances with the pesticides and instead choose to reduce my daily stress by not worrying about such trivial things.

Watch the trucks. Know the ones with openings across the top of the back part? That's because the produce is being sprayed with ammonia. The holes prevent the truck from blowing up from contained ammonia fumes. Does your grocery have those misters over the produce? Try getting some of that liquid on your fingers. You can feel that it's not just water, it's ammonia water.

He told her it's a way for them to charge more. I will admit though certain things organic do tast better. But I got to do the best I can with the budget I have to live a healthier lifestyle so conventional it is.

You therapist sounds like he should keep his day job and stop spreading info told by his clients breaking the confidentially clause. Some farmers don't like it cause it cost more and is hard, the industry is tough and rough and if you've been doing it for years you will not want to change to some "new age hippy" stuff if that's how you'll see it. Yes it cost more, but it cost more for a very good reason. Think for yourself don't let others think for you. Do your own research. Don't be a sheep!

    • @meebabeebadeembadeemdam6787
      @meebabeebadeembadeemdam6787 Před 5 měsíci

Organic and conventional crops are not grown on the same field. The land has to be naturally left alone for a period of time before organic produce can be grown and certified on the land. Additionally, the outside rows of the crop are often discarded if they are near other crops. I worked in ag research. It's all fine, but yes the organic produce is mostly unnecessary from a nutritional standpoint but if the taste quality is worth it that's fine too.
