So much appreciation to Abraham Hicks for the always inspiring articulation of how life works. I especially love using their analogies!

I love this I’ve been struggling with the scale. I love the piece you shared on using the scale. I do exactly that my whole day is based on the number. No more! Thank you for sharing ❤️

I love you and your channel. I’m 57 and “retired” from my 30 year career 9 years ago. But, since I immediately transitioned into doing work for our business (the books, advertising etc) and taking care of one of my grandsons while my daughter works full time, I really haven’t transitioned at all. My parents moved in for a few years when mom (Alzheimer’s) and dad (healthy as a horse but died unexpectedly) needed more support. They’ve both passed now and I’ve dealt with heavy depression and finally feeling like I’m coming to the other side of it, thankfully. I have searched for a channel that is exactly yours! I thought no one must be navigating this phase of life but me. Thanks for your channel! I don’t really watch as many of the cruise videos but am always there for you on all the other topics! Good luck on “switching houses”. It’s so great you’ll only be next door and am excited to learn more about the hows and whys of this transition! Im guessing both houses are on the same property? Or, you used to live in your daughters current house then bought a lot next door and built? 💕oops just realized how long ago this posted so now to search your videos lol

Valerie Randall I’m so glad you found my channel too! I hope to start posting again... still getting settled in the new/old house. I’m sharing that on Instagram in my Stories mostly. I appreciate you being here!

Your joy journal sounds appealing! I'm going to use one just for that!! As you speak about your happy, hopeful place, I am reminded that there are so many shades of happy that move us forward. I think your kind of happy is one that invites stillness and the ease it brings. When I was younger, the momentum of my personality and the sheer energy of youth was enough to propel me forward. By midlife that was no longer the case. I have had a meditation practice since my twenties (yes, I am that woo woo friend) and if I neglect the time to center my energy and connect with the stillness, I am running on empty, day after day, which begins to feel desperate and hard. And I really, REALLY need something easy right now. Thanks for reminding me that the stillness is where the power is. That is the quiet refueling. I think our natural state is not fatigue, but it begins to feel that way as we age. I sometimes resist resting because I judge it as evidence that I am running out of time and energy. That's actually not true, is it? Just plug back in to that easy, natural source and we are good to go again. Thanks for this!

YES! My brain runs so fast and furious, to slow it down takes focus.....but without that time, I attract thoughts that don't feel good. I like that meditation helps me get out ahead of stuff, little by little. So as life happens I'm not drug down to The Ugly Place as easily or for as long.

Oh gosh, love the fact that I’ve stumbled upon you! I think I was actually looking up ways to paint my kitchen cabinets. But anyways... holy cow I love your channel. I’m 49... and get this...I was able to retire at 46 from the state of Arkansas. I’m 49 now, I’ve adjusted quite well, but not without bumps for sure! I do feel this is our best life...but sometimes I have “those days”. It’s different!!!!
Thanks for sharing your life with us.

I love a cup of tea and a story from my childhood. Anne of green gables usually does the trick 😉 I also love to quit things, say no, clear my schedule and just take a long walk or bike ride.

I'm learning the value of sipping a hot drink...it really makes you slow down. Slowing down and distracting are my best tools these days. And watching youtube cruise vids :)

I'm also a midlife gal. Learning to navigate life as an empty nester. My routine is very similar. Meditation, journaling, and I also started weight lifting after I turned 50. That's been really helpful. Nice video!

Hi Vicki Marie! I love that this time of life gives us some time to be more intentional with how we spend our time. Good for you on the weight lifting! That's awesome!

is that a bird chirping in the background? :) Wish I had time for meditation and journaling... too busy with full time job, commuting to work (while listening to the news or music) and all that stuff I have to do to take care of myself and my home. But I have knitting, quilting, line dancing and tap dancing - when I am doing those, I'm in my happy place. (BTW, this is Aunt D!!)
