Manufacturer: So do you want a military plane or helicopter?
US Army: yes
Er... Marines
Slash
Air Force and Navy by 2021 I believe as well.
Manufacturer: That'll be $71,000,000 each. Cash or credit?
Marines: Credit.
Manufacturer: And how many would you like, sir?
Marines: 408.
Manufacturer: My, we're planning a big party aren't we? That'll be $35.6 billion, including training, parts and service for 30 days.
XD
1:58 It amazes me watching how quickly this massive bulky machine takes off and how stable it is in the air. What an amazing piece of engineering!
A lot of thanks to Osprey. Yesterday US air force flied Osprey to the earthquake hit area in Kumamoto with a few hundreds tons of relief goods.
@John Smith Nobody who's going through a natural disaster hates people who are bringing them supplies that are keeping them alive you stupid fuck.
John Smith you aren’t very smart are ya ?
@@DontTouchMePlz except Japan isn't a third world country that doesn't have basic relief provisions, the US delivered aid out of courtesy, as the world police force it is
John Smith um dickhead alert
@Peter Briganti Scotland invented haggis right?, You should Google just how much things they invented it's nuts
The power of those turbine jets coupled with the huge props. Just IMMENSE POWER...!!!
The sound is amazing too
That's it's problem
Equat turbine with weight
It's a plane...
But it's a helicopter.
+Togmeister it is VTOL
+Togmeister It's whichever you require at the time.
that's why is called this type of aircraft - a tiltrotor
Thats what I am trying to find out. Most of the crashes look like pilot error.
Togmeister no wayy..
Since the 80's I have always been amazed by this incredible concept. The V22 is an amazing implementation
Saw one of these for a brief 10-15 Seconds. Heard it for a good 5 minutes aha
Hahahaha!
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH
I just saw 2 flying over my apartment, it was fucking amazing
Lol, just saw one now fly over, had to go watch it on CZcams
"does it come in black?"
Yes but only for us president cortege
@@sergeyzvonik1024 dude that comment was from 7 years ago lol
Zensified hahaaa right
It comes in black ops
Stealth
This is the first of (many) Osprey videos I've watched that actually showed the motor pods pivoting from vertical to horizontal (and vice versa). Would love to see it happening in closeup, filmed from another aircraft in close proximity.
@Deadcats Rgoodcats Ok boomer
Those pods are actually called nacelles.
@@sixdsix5028And nacelles is pronounced "Nay-Sells"....
A pair of these keeps flying over my house. They make an awesome noise!
They are made in my town
They actually sound different depending on whether in helicopter mode (sounds just like a helicopter) or in plane mode (sounds more like a jet plane, but you can still hear the rotors a little. 3:32).
stl 1988 very cool.
Normal people would say that it is annoying, aircraft guys are like “THAT’S AMAZING !!!”
3 flew over mine the other day. Whole house was kinda skating and my poor animals were terrified
This bird looks good at every angle in flight.
Amazing blend of vertical take-off and high speed
They probably going to Bogdan‘s submarine...
I think you mean escaping
my thought exactly
Stupid.......stupid
Souvik Mondal Wait a MINUTE.....WAIT A MINUTE
@@bumba7961 you know the glitch ? We can literally repeat the heist
Amazing engineering. Besides the F-35, and harrier this has to be one of the most amazing pieces of aviation engineering ever. My opinion.
Agreed. This has been in the works since the 60's.
I don't really like USA decisions around the world by provoking wars, but i truly admire their machinery. This is a work of art. Maybe the USA doesn't have the most cost efficient machinery, but it sure performs really well and usually is miles ahead of its time
amazing and also beautiful.
Truly amazing to see this aircraft in action. I remember following this programme from the mid-1980s. XV-15 was the first tilt-rotor that I was aware of.
Thanks for the video!
Damn that thing is a lot faster than it looks.
+James Owen Yes..
Can this thing have its propellers in horizontal direction while on ground. It looks like it can't be completely 90° while on ground
Dženan Nope, only while in the air.
+Dženan the rotors tilt forwards in flight to create a 'turboprop' engine - Google what that is
They aren't created in flight. They're turboprops the moment Bell and Boeing finish building them.
Nope, if you tried to use airplane mode on the ground, the blades would hit the deck. They swing rougly eight feet below rhe fuselage.
A fantastic piece of engineering. Fulfils requirements of multiple missions with little to no modifications.
a real life vertibird!
+the blue leader from fallout
Now we just need enclave troops inside with plasma rifles and power armors! That would be rad :)
the blue leader Brotherhood of Steel
.... that kills Marines on a regular basis. Apparently the average life span of a US Marine in combat is higher in Basara compared to that of a trip in an Osprey. Gawd Bless Armereeca. Gawd Bless Armereeca.
Nope real life Avenger
The color difference between the Osprey and the Sky is amazing!
Engineer: Okay so do we have to build a plane or a helicopter?
US Marines: yes.
I remember seeing a pic of this thing when i was a kid in a book I had(it was actually a drawing), until recently I never realized they werent in use for longer, but yeah, I remember seeing it (It HAD to be 20 years ago) And just being totally amazed , and now seeing these cool vids of it are pretty awesome.
one of these v22 ospreys were here in London Ont.
very cool and unique design
so glad it showed up late so they did a quick demonstration for the crowed before being on static display
Watched three of these today @ 2 pm flying around harbor in Baltimore MD. Amazing!
These are amazing pieces of machinery! They can hover like a helicopter (hence the propellers) and fly just like an aeroplane does. Incredible.
this is so beatifull to watch
I live in the UK and get these flying over and near the cottage quite regularly. Quite amazing to think that something like that can actually fly.
I lived near the airport(ILG) where the V22 was prototyped and tested. It was routine to see them hovering and transitioning to forward flight. I was always in awe of this airplane.
Beautiful beast
How this thing doesn't tear it's self apart is amazing, counter rotating rotors, the forces involved here are tremendous. The Chinook was also said to theoretically tear itself apart and 35 years later they are still around with one of the best service records to date.
64NorthEntertainment Lots and lots of reinforced titanium and composite carbon fiber.
i worry about if the blades get stuck in horizontal position how would you land it?
@@nedthegreat6 slow the motors down and let gravity do its job!
@@nedthegreat6 If I was stuck full horizontal, it would result in a crash. The rotor arc extends about eight feet below the bottom of the aircraft.
Completely love this Osprey!❤️
awesome aircraft saw one on a few weeks back and it looked beautiful
I saw one of these land at Arlington, Oregon, and the pilot was really using its capabilities! He popped up out of a canyon and landed in seconds. Wow!
Amazing!!!
Sad that LEGO is banning this set
Really would've bought it
Sir Kerzenhalter ya :(
Why are they banning it?
Star Wars Chronicler they originally sold it as a search and rescue osprey, but I guess they changed their mid bc it was dominantly used in the armed forces
(Lego doesn’t do military things, it’s like against their rules)
Yeah some people got it though
@@CondemnedInformer Because the Lego construction destroy some parts in the model.
@@reidvanderwerff4515 yeah, they are doing that since lego was created during ww2.
So majestic.
The Avengers of GTA 5 😂😂😂
The concept is simple....you need a CARGO PLANE THAT CAN LAND VERTICALLY.. and they are doing an excellent job right now here in the Phil, helping relief efforts!
What a fantastic beast.
FANTASTIC VIDEO ! And with original sound, no f... music ! Thanks a lot !
Fun fact for anyone who plays halo, this was the inspiration for the Pelican dropship
I don't think those are tilt rotor though?
In a way, yes. When they want to hover the thrusters aim down. It is a Vtol aircraft. It even looks kinda the same frame wise.
NeovisionX Oh well I haven't played Halo in around half a year and haven't bothered to look it up. The best ones were 1 2 and 3, the rest I don't care about.
Yeah, well they are making halo 2 anniversary soon so that will be good.
I thought the drop ship from Aliens was
I love it this machine!!
YAY - my home town. I LOVE the airshow!
Great video. Thanks for uploading.
Impressive!
My favorite air vehicle!
Seen 1 of these bad boys today in Weatherford ok doing touch n go's, flew around maybe 40 minutes then it departed n headed west, awesome plane
The noise.....it is awesome .........fabulous aircraft !
Avenger in GTA 5
Stockpete yep
I cant belive they actually made the avenger a real thing
@@mr-ama4572 you dumbass this was made beforr the avenger
@@disneyplusmember wasn't this thing there befor GTA V even came out?
@Meh K I know, but if there whould be some new plane with special features and a game like GTA, wich already exists and gets a lot of updates. The new plane could be implemented and the game whould already be existing before the plane got developed.
Then the game whould have been inspired by the plane, altough it was there first. That's why I asked.
That rotor beat 4:40, 8:35 is just awesome. Try it with HD speakers :D
Amazing aircraft.
still cant believe how perfect it was made ,i think thats the new direction in aviation no more run way, just easy landing and take off
Glad to see that they got it right... Finally.... That design has been the death of many good test pilots and Marines.... Very slick machine. I worked with a lot of people who moved to Amarillo TX to build those for Textron. Great to see it fly well!
Buena maniobrabilidad y muy versátil.
Really great footage. Thank you for sharing. I’ve seen the Osprey a couple times at Little Rock national airport but never in so much great form.
I’m just amazed at this plane. I can’t understand how it transitions back and forth.
Mechanical driven technology.
The wear and tear from use of tilt mechanism are so intense that it is primarily running upright position.
I think this has got to be my favorite aircraft of all time.
Finally, ones coming to fairford this year
Can they turn with one engine like a heli and one like a plane?
+Dylan Le Lerre NO, the engines are permanently fixed to each other.
I guess, this base is Navarro?
Incredible machine and beautiful to watch.
That thing is a freak of engineering... crazy.
I got one of there in my facility
In gta 😂
When a mommy plane and a daddy helicopter make a baby their baby is the v22 ospray
Yeah is like a horse mating with a donkey and the result is a mule
Hands like Freddy Kruger
Its amazing how it is changing the roters ....helicoplane
Awesome aircraft with so many capabilities. But the 46 will always be in my heart for getting me out of the mud and back to my warm dry bunk on the LPD.
Me and the boys doing the act 2
Facts lol
I'm surprised to know the Avenger exists in real life lol
skip to 2:00
sick.....it look like it float.
If this was shown to someone pre world war 2 they would shit a brick, eat it, then shit it again.
Mario Bros sure it does 😂 stupid ass
SO amazing....U.S. Military all the wayyyyy ... Incredible ...I heart the Osprey 💙
Liked it soon as I heard those engines. Glad I watched, very under appreciated aircraft. More so speaking for myself.
Didnt knew avenger from gta v was modeled from this
Gta V was released in 2013, this was filmed in 2012.
The V-22 should be nicknamed "Popeye". Look at those guns on both sides!
That are not guns, thats radar or something
That something is to pick up fuel mid air. You could call it an proboscis.
Just seen two of these flying over tescos in Brigg Lincolnshire
Very cool
great footage , great job filming
They made the avenger from gta into a real thing? Wow
More like the opposite. Bell Boing was prototyping these in the 80's
You misspelled
*AVENGER*
Beautiful!
The rotor with variable direction is really a clever design!

I miss Half Life so much. The Osprey v22 of HECU.
finally found the retracting landing gear moment. thank you.
I see it on the NATO days in czech republic today (20.09.2014)
First public presentation in europe.

Who’s here after seeing the new BATTLEFIELD!!!
I cant wait for the reveal!!!
@@lorenzovilla2385 should be in this week 😝
What a amazing machine!
No, we were traveling through. When I spotted this aircraft I had absolutely NO idea what I was witnessing. It was truly amazing! :)
What about if one engine breaks down, is it able to fly and landing no matter?
It can land safely with one engine (source: me, a Marine naval aviator)
John Brown thank.
John Brown I don't believe you. No insult intended...I just can't see it...unless the engine is a rotary/jet combo??
From Osprey Wikipedia Page: Propulsion-
The V-22's two Rolls-Royce AE 1107C engines are connected by drive shafts to a common central gearbox so that one engine can power both prop rotors if an engine failure occurs.[53] However, if a proprotor gearbox fails that proprotor cannot be feathered, and both engines must be stopped before an emergency landing.[52] The aircraft's autorotation characteristics are poor partly because the rotors have low inertia.[52]
From Me: Most multi engine planes have no problem landing when an engine goes out, assuming the other engine's prop feathers.
DNRaDJK At seem, just in case, .both engines are joined by a axis,
The best helicopter ever manufactured.
TRUE ;)
I saw one in Monroe, LA...AWESOME!!!!
