What was any of this for? I mean, at least our troops got some fighting experience I guess. Just a fucking waste though, lives, money, mental health, peace, etal.. Some shithole desert in the middle of nowhere that most Americans can’t point out on a map. After 20 years we leave, and there’s people literally holding onto our airplanes falling to their death. Any of our veterans ask themselves what this was for, it’s going to be hard to come up with anything. Military industrial complex needs to make it a huge investment in our society, our infrastructure, our social services. They charge ridiculous amounts for these weapons, and they probably lobby for us to go to war, filling, politicians, and leaders pockets with gold so we can buy more weapons. That’s what’s going on with Ukraine right now. Another place Americans can’t point out on a map.

love this. Having been on both CVN-71 and LHD-1 it looks similar but it was like the first version of Naval Aviation. no jet engine test cell or intermediate avionics division.... Those prop fighters didn't even have radar. We were the last cruise for F-14's so I guess today's squids would consider me archaic.
