Generally agree with Bill, as I do almost all the time, but as an economist I have to point out that the official Labor Bureau statistics don't include the underemployed (those who are only working part time but want to be full time) and also don't include those who have stopped looking for work.
Those who have stopped looking for work shouldn't count would your parents be all right if you told them you stopped looking for work because its too hard? I didn't want to work at mcdonalds but I did anyways because I needed the money. Its extremely easy to find work in america its just americans are so entitled they don't want the job unless its paying 72 thousand a year plus benefits.

Well, I kind of agree there are some real problems. Income inequality is going up. Income growth for middle and lower classes is very low. The american dream, while not death, is certainly hanginh by a thread.

I don't mind people like Maher and Taibbi shitting on Trump; that's what they do.
That said, I can't believed that they're so mortified by the idea of a Trump presidency that they are completely willing to give Hillary a free pass.
They know that Hillary is a deeply flawed candidate solidly in the pocket of corporate interests. The way she did Bernie and his supporters was absolutely abhorrent, but this never gets mentioned by these once astute political mouthpieces.
I used to like Maher because he was an equal opportunity offender; now he tows the party line and seems all too eager to bend the knee and acquiesce to a candidate I'm all but certain he has nothing but scorn for.
The fact that our choices have been whittled down to Trump v. Clinton doesn't bode well for our future, but to pretend that Clinton isn't just as miserable (if not worse) than Trump and self-censoring any of the well-deserved criticisms you could rightfully hit Hillary with just stinks of desperation and intellectual dishonesty. Calling someone out on their bullshit isn't an endorsement of the other equally dangerous and inept side.

I hear you, but Trump's track record is appalling:
- The Trump Foundation diverted charitable funds to pay for his personal expenses.
- He deliberately misled working people with Trump University and drained them of everything they had with programs that charged upwards of $35,000 to get an unaccredited education that did nothing for them.
- He proudly admitted that he didn't pay taxes on national TV, and thus contributed less to the national good than your average working Joe -- and then has the gall to bitch about infrastructure issues.
- He openly admitted that it was "good business" for him when the housing market crashed, and while most people were offended that it displayed a lack of regard for the people who lost their homes, I was more offended by his business sense and judgment. He started Trump Mortgage in April 2006. It went out of business in 18 months.
- He whispers sweet nothings in your ears about bringing jobs back to America, while outsourcing the production of all his clothing outside the US like every other greedy CEO.
- He bitches about the Chinese stealing our manufacturing jobs, but has gone one to buy steel from China in his most recent development projects.
- And yes, he isn't a bought politician... Because he's the one BUYING politicians. He paid the NY state comptroller tens of thousands over a few years in order to get a $97 million tax cut on his properties.
Someone else in this comment section made fun of Mark Cuban being a guest on this Bill Maher panel. And while I don't like the guy either, he does bring up a good point: If he's such a successful businessman who has created so much opportunity, then WHERE THE FUCK are all of the people whose lives and businesses have been enriched by Trump? They should be up there in commercials, showing up in rallies, etc talking about how Trump has done so much for them. And who did we get to endorse Trump at the RNC?

I'm still waiting to see this cavalcade of Clinton's shit. So far throughout this election, I've seen:
- Emails
- Benghazi
- Dubious Clinton Foundation dealings
I've seen much worse in politicians before. And yes, Clinton has made mistakes throughout her career. Benghazi was a fuck-up, but what do you call Trump's four bankruptcies?
She made a mistake handling the extremely complicated nature of foreign policy. Trump couldn't keep casinos afloat. CASINOS!
When Colin Powell's emails leaked, you'll note that what he essentially said is that Hillary's biggest problem is that she's so secretive and tries to cover up even the most minor shit, and in turn accidentally spins even minor things into major controversies. When she was first lady, she worked on her health care reform stuff under absolute secrecy with a handful of trusted advisors and it blew up on her as her political opponents spun it into some nefarious plot against the American people.
I personally believe a lot of the motivation of working in private comes from a fear of having her performance overly scrutinized, especially given that she’s a woman in a largely man’s world.
The other thing about her privacy: I feel like I’ve seen all of the skeletons in her closet. For all her privacy, the truth even eventually comes out with her. She - and the Clintons in general - are hardly masters of covering things up. They couldn’t even hide a blowjob.
Of all the Trump supporters I’ve debated online, you seem pretty reasonable. I ask that you really interrogate Trump’s history as fully as you’ve scrutinized Hillary’s. That’s what ideally we should all be doing. I’ve looked into Hillary. I’ve looked into Trump. And boy, I’m a lot more fearful of Trump than I am Hillary. He’s the emperor with no clothes.
