      I'm an expat here in France and I really need to have my CC captions during our meeting (they speak French) in teams be translate in English.
      Is there a way to do it in Microsoft Teams? I will really appreaciate it if you can make tutorial of it.

      It's not quite that the company _wants_ to do this, more that the company _has_ to do this to comply with legislation, such as a 'legal hold'. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to comply with a 'legal hold', which usually means retaining communications for x years, and _not_ having this feature? Painful.

    • @neilgoodman2885
      @neilgoodman2885 Před 3 lety +1

      Dear Dark Dudes: I disagree. Students should not be looking over their shoulders when trusting a teacher, who should not have to worry about Plagiarism -- let something like a software seller do that, but do not disturb the student-teacher relationship of trust and truth.

    • @DarkDudesAI
      @DarkDudesAI Před 3 lety +1

      @@neilgoodman2885, I agree where you say "TRUST". But I think more control for teachers is always a good thing. You might say this class is a good class. I still commented on my personal experience with online classes. Yes! I have online classes. And I really think the trust is not broken. The teacher might have a clear idea of what's happening. And in real classes, the teacher has 100% control. Don't think of this as a trust-breaking comment, but really just another option of school. Just think of this as real school then maybe you'll agree.

Also I wonder what other kind of reports specialized social network analysis software are providing when having access to the M365 APIs.

      @@michaelputnam2532 Ah, yes, I see what you mean. I'm a M365 admin so 'active users' means something different to me. You're right, you have to 'do something' to be tracked, like logging into a M365 service e.g. Teams, OneDrive etc.

      @KevinStratvert  Před 3 lety

      Generally an active user is someone who has at least one session during the time period (e.g. you open Teams). As long as the user opened the experience, that tends to qualify as active. Some apps / sites have a higher bar, like clicked on something. I'm sure Teams also tracks a funnel, like total number of active users, # of users who click into a channel, # of who post a message... etc. and it keeps getting smaller and smaller as you look at more actions.

    If what you are saying is true privacy laws in many countries make this illegal. So either someone somewhere is going to dump on Microsoft or you are basically making it up, or perhaps not telling the whole truth. Let’s face it the police in most countries have access to huge amount of personal information about people, not just criminals, e.g. car registration numbers & address. However most police forces make it illegal to access this without proper reason.

    • @KevinStratvert

      Hey Bob - to clarify, Microsoft doesn't have access to this data since it belongs to the customer. If an organization / customer wants to review their data, they have the right to do so. If you work for an organization and they decide to investigate, they can access all the tools I demonstrated. Microsoft on the other hand is just the data processor.

    Microsoft has just two products windows and office. While windows is annoying as ever while Office remains great as it was decades ago. Rest of products just as in point Tracks remain in Microsoft labs and with respective product teams.

    How do you delete chat?

    • @davidadams421
      @davidadams421 Před 3 lety

      On individual chat messages, click the 'three dots' to bring up the context menu > Delete. You can delete your own messages by default (though this can be disabled by an admin) but you can't delete other people's messages.

      @@davidadams421 can a owner see what the members talking in their "private chats"??

    • @davidadams421
      @davidadams421 Před 2 lety +1

      @@garanamogudu5396 Not sure what you mean by 'private chats', I mean you can have team chat, channel chat, group chat and individual chat. The team 'owner' only has privileges to configure the team they are an owner of, everything else is based on whether there user account has access permission. For example, if they are a member of a team, they can see all team and channel chat, if they are a member of a group chat, they can see all chat from each group member. An 'owner' cannot see an individual chat, nor a group chat they are not invited to, nor channel chat if the channel is private. I think the answer to your question is No, but I wasn't sure what you meant by 'private chats'.
      Note: all chat is logged. Any M365 Global Administrator and certain other M365 roles can see all chat, all emails, all documents, all logins, basically everything you do and say within the M365 ecosystem. This is called Global eDiscovery and is a legislative requirement for e.g. Legal Holds etc. Nothing within the M365 ecosystem is truly private.
