    I also have taken photos of myself from my first day until now (60 days sober) and there’s a huge difference. The biggest difference for myself and I see it too in your before and after is the light and life in your eyes after quitting alcohol returns. My eyes looked completely void of life in my first picture post sobriety. Now my eyes light up naturally. It’s amazing!

    Wow… in the flashback of when the channel first started, your eyes look so lost and you seemed so exhausted. Now, now the light is back in your eyes and the life. Your soulshine is shining. It’s crazy how alcohol ( or the devils pee as I refer to it) drains every ounce of light from the eyes. You have too much soul to drink spirits. ❤

    Why are people becoming sober curious? Because God ordained it, and God knows how our bodies work far more than we do.
    Islam deemed alcohol haram (forbidden) over 1,400 years ago.
    Islam: Ahead of the curve since more than a 1400 years.
    The World: Seriously?
    Islam: Time confirms wisdom.

  • @jordanvannortwick9426

    Been going to AA since I was 17. 28 now. My mom made me go at first, cause she’s been sober since 2009. I started going myself a long time afterward. Of course, I relapsed after grandma died. Immediately a fifth a day. Been doing that for two and a half months. This is what happens when an alcoholic relapses.

    • @GettingSoberAgain
      @GettingSoberAgain  Před rokem +2

      if you could choose all over again, would you choose to buy a bottle a day, or spend the same amount of money gaining more useful tools in therapy?
      Remember: You are not limited or defined by your mistakes, relapses and detours. But you are subject to being defined by a victim mentality.
      find the next level of strength. we believe in you , even if you don't currently believe in yourself! ❤️

    • @jordanvannortwick9426
      @jordanvannortwick9426 Před rokem +2

      @@GettingSoberAgain I of course wouldn’t choose to buy a bottle a day, but would rather just save the money instead. AA is free, after all.
      I know what I am doing and what the consequences are, because I know better since I’ve already been to rehab and a sober living house. And yet, I still chose to drink.
      It’s quite literally insanity. There is a problem with the way I think.

    Hi Jae! Hi everyone!
    I’m reluctant to go to an AA meeting because I don’t want to be put on someone else’s timeline (fear of an intense sponsor x the steps). I’m afraid of the pressure. I can appreciate pressure in some settings, but in this context it really upsets me-the thought of being pushed again and again.
    Do you have a reason for not wanting to attend AA? Clearly you’ve found a way to be sober without it. Guess I’m just looking for someone’s take on going another way and why they did.
    Thanks, C

    It's when looking into your eyes I spotted the difference that was the most impactful.
    The first clip, I could tell that you had this void, emptiness that foretold the state of mind you were in.
    However, I must be truthful and state that, the present you, looking into your eyes, that void has not been completely filled. Although, the emptiness that was consuming you, has been filled to some degree. And hence, looking into your eyes, it seems you may have found some thing which has given you a sense of belonging, purpose and contentment; even though you may still be searching further to become whole; entirely.
    (Which is not to say that, you have failed in your mission to revive your life or your soul. As it's expected for one to be still travelling in their journey in search of complete contentment after recovering from a life of addiction. )
    Would you say I got some parts correct when forming an opinion on your pre amd post journey in sobriety? 😬🤔🤔🙏🙏🙏

      Dammm. You should drink water buddy and ensure you eat food that contain essential nutrients for a healthy and functioning body.
      When coming off substance abuse, it's recommended to supersede on the daily nutritional recommended intake for an adult.
      Because, I presume you lost alot of weight during your substance use, meaning you went to sleep with an empty stomach for 5 days of the week. And would probably go without eating the entire day.
      So, the alcohol became a primary source of "nutrition" for your body when you were using.
      And your body depended on the alcohol to feed your body to essentially keep you alive.
      Now that, your body is learning that the alcohol a.ka. false nutrition is not present in your body. It is going into "starvation mode"
      And the alcohol use to hold you down. In terms of muscle recovery. Keeping your living organism functioning etc.
      It's as a result of the alcohol leaving your body, it's why you are feeling many pain etc.
      Dw, keep eating healthy food and get enough sleep and rest.
      Your body and brain will eventually rewire itself and learn to use the nutrition from the food you consume to function and have a healthy body system.
      🙏🙏🙏🙏
