Everyone is complaining that this transformers movie is too goofy and full of comedy, but remember this is before the Great War and Cybertron fell, before everyone was a subject to war and had to get serious. There was a time in their life where they used to have fun and be happy so we can’t really be mad at it right now.
That's what I'm saying. Spiderverse also threw in a lot of corny jokes in the beginning but got serious when it needed to get serious. This movie is going to be the exact same

Fun fact: Peter Cullen coached Chris Hemsworth on the Optimus Prime voice. He sounds like an ideal young Optimus imo, but you can almost hear a neat little Peter Cullen impression at 8:29
14:14 I was about 10 y/o when the first live action Transformers came out on opening night. It was a Super packed theater, everyone inside was super excited and the thing I remember the most is when the entire theater would erupt in cheering whenever a really cool scene would start. The vibe was immaculate, you just had to be there.

People are upset that Chris Hemsworth is voicing a younger Optimus prime, but you need to remember this is not Optimus prime yet.
Back in the original G1 cartoon Orion Pax didn't sound like how he sounds as Optimus now. He was a normal librarian with a normal voice until Alpha Trion repaired him with the Matrix Leadership and then he got that powerful iconic voice that we know now. Maybe in the end part of the movie will see his voice change to Peter Cullen's when he gets the matrix.

Sad to see so many people immediately dismissing this movie cuz it's animated and for kids. They fail to remember Transformers got popular BECAUSE of an animated tv show made for kids in the 80s.
I love the bay verse but it really warped the original tone and aesthetics of the original era.
Unfortunately that's true but this is also due to the fact the general audience overall has his misconception of *anything that's animated is automatically for kids* but watch those same individuals be fine watching ANY animated adult centered sitcom like the boondocks or family guy or south park. Not because those shows are animated but because of how they're written. So if they can acknowledge it's the mature writing that gravitates them, then it makes no sense for people to suddenly dismiss most animated TF media as childish without even looking at it properly.

This going back to the OG Transformers not the stuff from Michael Bay which many ppl know transformers for.
To see the comics come to life is top tier.. The movie is for the OG Fans and a newer audience.
I believe this first movie should show Cybertron in its prime before The Great War and how Optimus and Megatron came to be who they are now, The second movie should show the war between them and struggle while Cybertron is dying, And the third and final movie should be an attempt to end the war and where the Transformers leave Cybertron to go to Earth. So for the third movie in a way, it will kind of have a sad ending because we already know what happens when Cybertron gets too inhabitable they end up leaving, but I feel like the franchise should just end there because we already know the story of what happened after and everyone is tired of seeing movies with Transformers on earth with humans.
A lot of people have been hating or mixed on this but the only thing this movie carries is there is no humans in this movie and that's what we shouldn't have gotten and what we all wanted

The first Transformers movie, back when things were simple. There's nothing better than when a movie makes an fight believe, especially with armies, monsters, aliens and superheroes. The music, the cinematography, the fighting choreography and of course the most important part: The debris! Building getting ripped to shreds, people running away in fear, explosions, gunshots, blood, sweat, debris, dirt and concrete all being eviscerated by an onslaught of carnage and mayhem. Heroes will die, Villains will die, innocent civilians too. I wish movies today focused more on this.
The one thing, I began to appreciate ever since entering the Digital Media in Film major, so how Transformers tracked their 3D models oo shaky cameras and how the hell they kept them so steady and perfectly lit throughout all their films, specifically the first three!

The cool thing about transformers that very few people know is that in the origin of prime and megatron, is that they strongly resembled MLK and Malcolm x, Optimus was like a janitor and when given a chance to make input he was peaceful with his ideas, megatron was more forceful and that's what led to their rivalry

Not really a big fan nor do i care to learn about it, i’ve only watched the modern movies and little bit of cartoons which i barely remember. So from that perspective if I'm not mistaken the robots helped early earth and gave countless era's technical advancements aswell as giving humans revolutionary ideas in secret (they're essentially aliens which many ppl believe we've already been doing that irl so same concept there) but with the goal of turning earth into something similar to their home world if i had to guess. They're mechanical entities so with that I'd imagine the 'car' forms or whatever we share that's similar in tech is a phase all lifeforms get to at a point across the galactic universe.
