you should try c4 carbon fins
I waiting for the day there is a Ryan Myers x Daniel Mann collab video. That would be sooooooooooooo cool!
When covid restrictions bugger off for sure.
Your going to have to come to me though not sure I’m leaving hawaii for that UK diving!!! Seriously though we should meet somewhere epic. Show you around the Bahamas or Fiji or you can get me my first HALIBUUUT!!!!
Haha just think of it like that Pan Am comp you had in Chile... just with sea bass and no great whites. If Sardinia comes off this year let’s do Norway straight after, great time of year for the magic carpets.
@@DanielMann let’s put it to a subscriber vote haha. I say Alaska.
Actually we need some warm water diving from you.
Alright somebody is awake ! Make it happen 🤞
Dude. I love it.
Watched the old one 20 times, its somehow entertaining.
Love your reliable and honest opinion, nowadays there arent many like you.
Most of youtubers would recommend the most shitty product for a bit money.
Nice! I recently watched your old vid on gear. Ive just started getting into diving. Fun to see what you’re runnin with! Just got the same cressi mask as well. So far, im enjoying it.
Glad you're gettin' sponsor!
Got to pay the bills somehow!
I love these kinds of videos🔥
Thanks Daniel
Hey Dan I am only 13 years old and have been spearfishing for two years now but am still learning a lot, I tell you this now, your videos have changed my mindset of spearfishing and are so well explained!
Thanks so much and keep it up!!!!😀😀😀
I was waiting for this video😀thanks for inspiring me to start spearfishing 👍
Nice plug for the other guy.
Great vid and always super handy. As a new person to the sport I’ve grabbed lots of great tips.
Great video Dan. Yours are so much better to watch than other spearfishing videos. You take the time to edit them and make sure the audio is good. I finished my speargun and I'm excited to go try it thanks to your videos.
Thanks Ben, I can’t watch videos with bad audio!
At 5:38 Mr Manns face was so proud😂👍
That euro traveller is awesome - I'd totally passed them up for years, but you've sold me on it. As always, great video.
Nice to hear what you have to say about the riffe euro travel! I saw you using it and decided to get one myself! Didn’t really have a chance to try it out on any big fish, just a mahi, but it’s a solid gun and when you add a third rubber it smashes everything!
Hey Daniel, informative as always, thnx for another awesome video. I've been diving with the Cressi Calibro mask now for a xouple of months and can honestly say that I don't think you'l be disappointed.. Cheers from Mossel Bay, South Africa👍😉
The level of production value that go into these videos isn’t talked about enough my god I could procrastinate all day watching these videos
Thanks Alex!
@@DanielMann cup ?. .
I use the plastic case my mask came with to protect my camera, torch and the mask off course in the bag! The pee tube is very, very useful (I make them myself) but it makes your life hard when non divers or scuba divers are close by! Advice for camera users! I keep a simple .txt file in the memory stick in case I lose the camera! If someone found it and wants to return it they know where!
Have been waiting for a daniel man vid for a while
Yesss been waiting for this video.
Hope it's helpful!
Great vid! After I get my first pay from work i am definately getting my own PoloSub! My current wetsuit is way to big and i just cant get warm
Thanks so much for this edit, i have never seen that style of gun before, but its a game changer! that bag is elite aswell. Cheers for sharing!
The carbon gun or the travel one? The travel one is really cool. I’d love to have a carbon fibre roller version for travelling.
@@DanielMann yer well i havent seen those carbon guns either but The riffe traveller i was talking about, yer a roller version would be amazing! Ive just ordered a custom aquagat 120 roller carbon, so excited to give it a go, mostly run manny sub and have a andre too but yer looking to change over to the aquagat range! Just put out a new edit yesterday of getting my pb red too hey. Insane fish, spoken to you a couple
Times about shooting reds haha:)
Shot my first fish the other week it was a pollack. It tasted delicious and I can’t wait to get out again !
My days better when I see ur vids
Thanks for the info
Great video brother
Soo good man!
I've got the same type of Inflatable from immersion it came with a cheap pump for the same bladder ports it pumps them up but also when your done can reverse it and it will suck the air out
Already looking forward to seeing your next what is in my spearfishing dive bag video 😂 Do you normally carry a rigging kit/spare gear with you?
Only on trips away!
Greetings from Denmark, always nice to see your videos!
Glad you like them!
getting hela pro love it!
Gotta love when Dan posts a new video
Thank you!
I owe you. Thanks for this.
Any time! A simple product that is fantastic 💪
I'll be getting that weight vest for sure 🤙🏻👍🏻
It’s a great investment, excuse the pun!
A salut ✋✌️ from Morocco's coast,, keep up the good work, and thanks for all of the informations
Perhaps you could make a video about rollerguns, inverted rollers, conventional guns, and perhaps why you seem to prefer single band conventional? There are plenty videos out there about the subject, but yout videos are the best... I'm looking into upgrading my speargun and can't really decide what i want to go for next. I've got a 90 double 16mm band aluminium gun atm. Hunting pullock, cod etc. Rollers are intriguing😅
Great content as usual, thanks Dan. Pleased to see that you have finally accepted the Polosub sponsorship... I’m sure it’s been on the table for a while.
It certainly has. I figured I had used the product since 2012 and don’t plan on stopping so why not? Glad to be on board with them and help out a small artisanal company.
I got a calibro, love it but still do ur normal mask prep for fog n the only discomfort is a slight rub on the bridge of ur nose after about an hour to two hours, other than that it's great, really easy for equalising.
Another great video 😂
just a tip, for substitution of the technisub, you also have the speton and the mares X-FREE.... they are the Same mask...
I had the same problem as you, the cressi hurts my nose...
keep working!
cheers
DUDE I just watched your previous dive bag video yesterday!
Strap in for the sequel!
Great video and gear! Can you please do a video on how to change gopro batteries while out spearfishing with the precautions and everything please. This may sound straight forward but I'm new gopro owner. Thanks in advance!
Well done mate, you could get someone to weld on a sharkfin tab.
I like the used speargunrubber as safety clips on the shafts. I will use that too.
Best thing for it!
Nice informative videos thanks.
My pleasure
suprise upload
yay
One of the best CZcamsrs spearfishing channels of mannkind.
very good gear.
When you like the video before watching, because you know it's a banger
Yup.
Obviously
Too kind 🙌
great great video
I purchased that powdered wetsuit lube right after your last gear video and it was well worth it. As always, great video!
I love it, such a good product.
Also curious, would you ever consider doing videos on Hawaiian sling or polespear?
I first learned about Slippy from your 2020 Dive Bag video and it is 500x better than conditioner or other solutions I have tried. I recently broke my thumb skiing and it has been difficult to squeeze my hand into my 7mm open cell, but I increased the amount of powder per volume water and it made more of a gel that is unbelievably slipperier than normal! Play around with the amount of water you add and find the perfect combination to fit your needs. Thanks for the recommendation Daniel!
Slippy is such a great product! I was hesitant at first but like you say you can make it however you like.
Also would love a review of the new Cressi mask. Wondering if the antifog stop at the nose does anything...
Oh no not new gear now I have to invest in all the recommendations hahah awesome video as always thanks!
You don’t have to invest at all, if something is a few bucks and works for you stay with it.
Good tip D
Hahaha yes! Just was looking up your old gear video to watch for the 20th time and saw this in my recommended!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Fantastic video man! You’ve been a massive inspiration to start my own CZcams channel, working on it now!
Yes chef!
4:45
I have same thing on my light,
I prefer to unscrew my light only a few millimeters, and then the button doesn't work at all and there's no chance of it turning on, and if you enter the water while it's unscrewed only a few mm the water won't enter inside, so it's an easy thing to do
I love the effort that you put into each and every video. We don't deserve such quality/professional content!
Cheers Jack! There were some expensive cameras used on this one 🤣
@@DanielMann As a guy studying film, I can definitely tell! 😂 Cheers brother!
Love it. Your kit is so well thought out compared to mine. If you were looking to invest in some nicer shafts for that riffe, have a look at Addiction Shafts in the US. You can order what ever you would like. Highly recommend.
I’ve heard the addiction shafts are pretty good. Maybe if I snap this Riffe one I’ll order one.
Awesome new background 🤙🏼
Cheers Reece, just a blue Colorama paper one 👌
Very interesting vid Daniel. You are making me tempted to spend some money! 😁
If you upgraded anything and it resulted in more dead fish U.K. bass populations would be in trouble.
@@DanielMann 😂🤣😂🤣
Nice!
That Cressi Mask is a banger! best field of view. Can't wait to see if you like it also :)
but don't buy it for the no fog. it just helps a little! you still have to do your anti-fog routine.
Hurley makes a good pair of gloves intended for surfing. They’re about $38 US. 3mm. Nice and snug. I dove in a glacier fed river for an hour and my hands stayed warm. Only gloves I use now. Congrats on the sponsors Mr. Mann!
I’ll check them out Tim, those cressi ones were poop.
Really cool video and de way you shoot. Congratulations for the video 🙌. May I ask you what size is your Sporasub vest? I wonder getting one soon befor I crack my back...
I use the medium size which is the smallest they make. Works very well for me.
You should try the Rob Allen drop weights
You are the best
Is it easy enough to find your way back to a marked spot using a GPS with no charts?
Btw if you feel like trying yet another model of gloves I highly recommend 'Seac Sub Dry Seal' gloves. They make them in 5 mm and 3 mm versions. They are a little pricy but they fit my hands really well, are very warm and are easy to get on and off. I went through a ton of gloves before I found them. I bought a pair of 'Beuchat Premium 4.5mm Gloves' because they were made for "cold" water... went out in 5 celcius water in March here in Denmark and found out the seams were not glue at all. I really like wearing the 'Bare Sealtek' but they are impossible to get on and off once they are wet. Other gloves have wrong fit with too long fingers or they have annoying bulky seams in the fingertips but the 'Seac Sub Dry Seals' are terrific!
Takk!
Merry Christmas Daniel!
The question is about weight vest.
Please what size loose lead shot are you putting in the vest and how many kg. You have after.
Thank you
The riffe speargun was something out of james bond movie no doubt. I never seen a two piece shaft before this video even though I always imagined it would be something exactly like the way he showed.
I felt very James Bond when I pulled it out of my bag in the hotel in Greece last year. Cool but if kit that’s for sure.
regarding masks, I believe the Mares X-Free is closer to the Technisub Micro mask than the Cressi Calibro.
Some more video please man
I see the Technisub micro mask is also sold as an Aqualung micro mask
The GPS is a great update for sure
I hope it equates to some fish and more success in future competitions.
@@DanielMann definitely, it will help
It's like you knew I was planning a trip and needed this info. It's harder to search for gear in this sport than others. Many sites are poorly built, don't have good descriptions and pictures, are in foreign languages so they don't show up in searches...anyway, thank you!
Glad it has helped Calvin!
The link for the dive bag didn't work for me. Is that a coming soon situation or discontinuation? I'm just wondering if I should wait, or look for other options for a trip mid June.
I’m not sure what is happening with it sorry. I think they may be rebuilding their website.
I've done that before. I have no problem being patient.
I would recommend Daniel man and Dejan sverko colab, thats Will be super duper uwamazing
Use magicseaweed for tide times - also tells you wind and bits.
It is free from the App Store
Nice video
Great vid Dan, have you got the link for the xplore bag please?
There is a link in the description but I’m not sure what has happened to them. Website seems to be under construction.
hi daniel, loved your videos, what go pro do you use?
A GoPro 7 before March 2022 and after that mostly a GoPro 10.
Love the vid as always D-Man. Do the carbon rods in the Riffe affect the buoyancy of the gun at all? I shoot with a RA Samburu and a RA Sparid, when loaded they are negatively buoyant. Not sure if the Riffes are designed in a similar way but would be interested to know if when you let go of the gun there's a danger it's now going to float away :) :)
The carbon rods make the gun a lot better. Having 100g of stainless steel towards the end of the gun makes it so heavy underwater. All guns should be slightly negatively buoyant I think when loaded up.
Hey Daniel, no longer using that low volume DiveR float? Your last gear video made me almost grab one.
Also, is that Cressi 82 you mentioned? Can't seem to find it online. I'm also just in for a simple dive watch.
Congrats on the sponsors mate, love your videos!
Hey Kade, I still use the flat DiveR float but haven't had to in recent times. Should be getting a work out in March this year with any luck.
The watch is a Cressi Edy 2. They are not longer made and mine actually died after 12 years. Now have a Suunto D4i and loving it.
Whenever you get a chance and travel opens back up, I know flights to morroco north Africa were pretty reasonable. Potential trip idea?
I’ve got plans for Tangier but like you say, covid is halting all those ideas ☹️
Love the videos, my wife and I are complete newbies. I was just wondering if l get the silicone dive belt should we go for 3mm or 5mm thickness. Thanks
I prefer the 3mm with less weight on it but also tend to use the 5mm alchemy now because of the Marseilles style buckle.
Hey Daniel, thanks for these awesome videos. I learned a lot from you and watching your vids is such a joy.
How did you mount the Omer match reel on your under pressure tube speargun? Did you use one of the adapter kits Omer offers? And did you have to drill into the gun?
I got the universal Omer match reel. It has a rounded adaptor for round barrels. Then just drilled and screwed into the barrel.
@@DanielMann alright thanks a lot!!!
I want that damn bag 😂
Spetton has a model similar to the micromask called the minimaxx if you’re interested in an alternative
Will check it out, thanks!
Food👍
I replaced my Aqualung Micromask with the Spetton Minimax and a Epsealon Minisub Red Flash since all of them are using the same OEM mold. The silicon might be slightly different. Do check em out.
Will do, thanks Daniel.
G day mate love your videos very interesting and informative. When travelling overseas, weight belt leads do you take them with you or buy lead weights at your destination. Dive fins and gun are they safe from damage in your dive bag or do you wrap insulation around them. Thanks buddy really enjoy your local and overseas content.
I generally try and take my weights as carry on. Never had any problems at UK & Scandinavian airports doing this. They took them off me in Rome one time though. I use a Sportube for the guns when travelling, keeps them very well protected. Fins are fine in any bag - I have DiveR innegras and they are almost bullet proof!
Thanks for the quick reply, in response to DiverR fins I know Ray Powell personally and yes he is switched on to producing great gear. Keep smiling and enjoying your sport, cheers.
G’day! Love this vid. Very informative. Mr. Mann question I’d like to ask: what size do you wear in the sporasub weight harness? I dont have to option to try-before-buy so wandering what size to get. I’m 65kg/167cm. Thanks again and seeya on the next one!
I wear the medium size which is the smallest they do I believe.
Thanks Daniel!
Hey how many micro masks you need. we have a few at the shop
What do you use that ‘drop’ weight for specifically. Not sure if you mentioned it somewhere on your channel, but curious if it is something I should look into integrating to my set up.
Anchoring my float as well as adjusting my weight belt quickly between dive spots depending on the depth.
Your link to the xplor bag is noted as piracy homepage, do you have another link?
I'm literally in a geography class right ow with a project due in 11 minutes, me need watch
Didnt finish but worth it!
Sorry it’s a long one but geography is important! You need to know where to travel to dive 🤣
💯 worth it
LOL im in a physics classs right now as welll
Hi Daniel. Do you use the drop weight as an anchor and clip it to your float line when you want to secure your float?
Yes or to adjust my weighting quickly during the day.
It was very interesting to see the Riffe gun. Way too expensive for a newb spearo for me though. I bought a short (800) Rob Allen gun abroad, and on my last night I realized the gun says 800, but the spear was 120cm. No chance to fit it into any of my luggage, so I had to cut off the spear and leave it behind. Not the biggest loss, but I don't want to do that every trip.
Do you have any idea if the threaded shaft system from Riffe exists in cheaper guns? I asked around, I can't use their shafts, they're way thicker than mine and my gun isn't powerful enough.
I'd really like to avoid checking in big oversized luggage just so I can bring my spear.
You’ll be fine to use the threaded Riffe shaft in the Rob Allen if you have an open muzzle. Just use two 14mm bands or one 18mm band and it will send it fine.
What changed about the Alchemy buckle that made you put the old one on? I’m considering getting one of those belts but not if that’s a deal-breaker.
The new one didn’t close as well as the old one for me.
Hey Dan, I really like your Underpressure Up tube. Can it also equip double bands?
Hi Daniele, yes I’ve used it with two bands. Shot a 47kg halibut with the 110 version 👌
@@DanielMann thank you very much! I’d like to buy the 90 version!
Yo man thanks for the videos, i was wondering tho, when u screwed the fins in did u just simply drill in the screws or did you like predrill? Im looking to get some innegra fins soon and was curious how u fit them in the pockets, i also have mares razors
The holes are clearance holes. You don’t want stainless steel and carbon fibre touching if you can help it.
@@DanielMann oh i see, thanks for the reply man i love the videos
