Here I am, looking at buying the HD 560S, and then you review the non S... Wanna get on that real quick?
SO what would you consider the BEST Jelloman headphone regardless of price?
12:27 I had exact same wire on HD518 and it was just fine. I liked 6,3 mm. Exactly what decent quality (stationary)audio equipment doesn't have 6,3 mm? Those are open back so I wont use them outdoor anyway. Those are not mobile headphone by any stretch of a imagination. So relax man wire is just fine.
BTW I briefly considered buying those but I choose AKG K712 Pro instead (same price) .
Since a number of my plastic headphones from different price ranges just fucking broke, i will never ever buy any headphones that has any plastic in its chassis.
Music is work, but I LOVE work.
GET A HAIR CUT YOU HIPPIE
I thought video is work.
Mmx 300 review?
Then I have to decide between tygr and 560s cause I need for mixing and mastering but I want enjoy too, u confused me hahahahah
@@ZReviews but real hippies hate work
DMS "my friend Z reviews"
Z reviews "that other reviewer"
Well maybe some kind of backhanded compliment from Z there in that he wasn't referring to Joshua Valour :-)

"If you know DMS, and I know DMS, he's an analytical asshole." - Zeos
18:40
Lol
Last time it was asshole so... a step up
I mean some new people might be skeptical or critical of the fact that Zeos associates with other reviewers. So in a sense, it sort of be less biased to not call him directly his friend in he lmao. I mean, this whole audiophile thing is niche but I still kind of anxious of the potential for somebody to criticize those kinds of things in theory. So idk.
Due to health problems (and financial problems), I canât really spend too much time (and money) on this stuff, but listening to Zeos in the background while doing literally anything is extremely entertaining and occasionally educational.
I hope things get better for you there buddy :C
Are you an audiophile ?
I work listening to Zeos as a podcast, and i love it.

17:50 - The Post Tube Test Review Starts Here..
Best review i've watched in a long time, you make me feel what you're saying which is an intangible value!
Just got these yesterday and listening to some Marvin Gaye tracks off of the album "let's get it on" was quite the experience. The instruments just popped and I melted into the music. Have my DAC being delivered tomorrow and can't wait to hook them up with it
Great video, thanks for the tip on the replacement cable. A.
Was looking forward to this as thinking getting the HD560s next month.
Great quote from zeos" if your a analytical person and you analyse the bottom of subway toilet there is only one thing you will find" đ€Ł
I love Sennheiser, they make and package the included headphone cables for my exact usage scenario every time. I'm originally from Europe and so are they, so it's like there is an inherent understanding there between the two of us of each other.
Thank you for linking a cable! It has been driving me crazy.
Truly enjoy your reviews. I go between you, dms, josh, and bad seed. I am a gamer and love almost all forms of music. I have dt990s, at m50x, he4xx, and now because of you and DMS I have the 560s. All of these headphones have their place for certain applications. I was surprised with the bass response of these and the mid range is clearer than the other headphones I listed. They are not as âfunâ as my he4xx. I feel like every pair of new cans I get I want them to dethrone the previous...I think I now realize the rabbit hole Iâve gotten myself into. Thank you Zeos for a detailed approach and laying out great analogies to comprehend. These are my new gaming cans, and certain music cans. The he4xx hold the crown for my everyday music cans.
Compared to the dt990s how much better is it or worse??
@@mickeylickey very different sound. For me the dt990s have much less bass and are definitely sharper on the high end. For gaming, I love the 990s, but for overall usage I think the 560s are better. I did just get the Schiit magni and modi stack...and my he4xx are the only headphone I want to use. They are a completely different headphone now. Makes me wish I had the sundara
@@andrewpolm6225 Thanks. I do find the 990s a bit too high for me. Even for some games like siege and BF. Sometimes I don't wanna send the volume up. I am using a Schiit Hel right now and it works great so far. I might really consider getting the Sennheiser.
@@mickeylickey from what I watched the pc38x sound like the better gaming headphone...I got my 560s for a music heavy application too. But I did find them just not at fun as my he4xx. My honest review after a few weeks of the 560s is...to me they werenât worth $200 for what I needed. They are great and I am sure worth every penny. For me I was fine with my 990s for gaming and my he4xx for music and movies.
@@andrewpolm6225 Hmmm. Well I might just stick to the 990s and try that HE4xx you are going on about. Is that a open back as well??
I bought these about a month ago, and my review is: for games, classical, Jazz and other extremely well recorded music they're effing brilliant, but you almost need to just know what songs you can listen to and which ones you can't, I had to toss out 1/2 the songs in my "sound quality playlist" as these cans exposed a LOT of weaknesses. So, yeah, love and hate them too.
So it sounds like they are not good for the metal music genre?
Im searching for headphones in that price range and people telling ne to get the beyerdynamics dt 770 pro but I heard about the treble and beyer typical peak so im fearing headaches
It just looks like the other 500 series senns but its wearing a tuxedo
I thought I was the only one who did the jello thing. Glad to know there are more of us out there.
Logitech packages their cables perfectly. They use the outermost edge of the inner packaging to make a huge loop so there are zero bends.
My HD518s came with the same cable, it's not 10ft for long because it will tangle itself into an inpenetrable knot
Yikes
You should try to get your hands on the Austrian Audio Hi-X55. A lot of what you said reminded me of these. Very unique listening experience, though.
I tried HI-X55 and own 560s. HI-X55 is much brighter and drier.
That naked jelly thing while smoking a doob sounds good, I'll try it tomorrow
The main "problem" with the HD 560s is that it will bring out the "problematic elements" behind a shitty produced song.
Otherwise, you are going to find a connection with this headphone if your are all about finding out whether the song you're listening to is honest with you or not. Almost leaning to acquired taste. But I personally love the staging on these cans. Treat for watching movies also.
I've got them. They are exactly as you described them, you ticked every box.
Yeah bro, absolutely true
They are very nice. I got 560s and AKG 361 the same day in the mail. That was not a disappointing day. But they could probably use a little more V shape EQ. A little more brightness wouldn't hurt.
Loved your review as always. Can you recommend a balanced cable in order to get the most out my zen dac 2?Thank you in advance.
Great video.
a question, in your opinion which is better the HIFIMAN he400se or the sennheiser hd 560s? I am not sure which one to choose as I have seen that both are excellent and have a similar price. but I would like your personal opinion on which is better.
I like watching/listening to your videos and have been for awhile! I havent watched the whole video yet, but before I forget, since these headphones are similar in price to the HD6XX, how does it compare?
I relate to that "17 cups of coffee" line a little too well
I love flat. With the right amp flat sounds good on everything.
What amp are you using on these?
@@brdnhigh Try the Fiio K5
@@landocal0 Sounds good thank you!
Love your review lol! How does this compare with hd599 sound quality?
I've bought these headphones because of more excited reviews but point that Z has done seems very relatable, with those it's like a lottery, you may put on your favorite song and it's blooming with details and sounds super clear or your hit "play" and somehow the song which you were listening for hours because of some "it" factor, now lost it as accents now are totally different.
I didnt realize this, till it felt like some songs felt like they were grabbed off of limewire.
> somehow the song which you were listening for hours because of some "it" factor, now lost it as accents now are totally different
Exactly this. Some songs that I used to love make me feel nothing on these headphones. đ
Would you rec the xDuoo TA-10 for these. I purchased this unit after your review and love it. Just wondering about this combo? Thanks!
Realized my headphone journey has been 50% zeos and 50% dms. I want to hear the source like it is! But I also want my headphones to color them so I can melt into a bean bag with a doobie.

Just eq or use non neutral amps. You can turn these Bois into anything you want
I agree I can't listen to it for long time but this can be solved in two ways 1) tube amp 2) EQ to remove harshness. I use both and it feels awesome.
With tube amp and eq, they become the best sounding pair of headphones I have ever heard.
That's the beauty of a FLAT headphone. Turn it into whatever the hell you want through extraneous hardware ke eq
@@AssassinsFear Or just listen to the music as it is supposed to sound like.
@@thatchinaboi1They're saying EQ the headphones to a reference response curve (like Harmon or diffuse field).
I guess i'm an "analytical" listener then. These sound so much more natural than the 600 series everyone's in love with for some reason i will never understand.
The 600s are amazing on tubes, quite blah on solid-state.
How's the bass in 560s compared to 6xx?
I enjoy neutral/flat sounding headphones because when you listen to amazing mixed audio like Radiohead for example, itâs fucking nuts. A lot of EDM or pop I donât listen to anyway because they are too simple for my ears. They get stale and boring. So I guess I have more âanalyticalâ ears.
@@jamesbittle469 Whenever I read this sort of thing I wonder. Do you regard HD600/650 as basically mellow, pipe and slippers, with no annoying detail, that are not comfortable with transparent amps i.e. A90, and sound better with even harmonic laden sweet sounding tubes, detail be damned?
I have HD650 and they are fantastic with my non tube RMI ADI2 FS, and with my A90! :-)
I've been waiting for this
so...which one is more pleasant to listen to: hifiman he400i 2020 or these?
I come to your reviews because you make me spit my coffee out.
Any recommendations for a 4.4mm balanced cable for the 560s?
Will the replacement wire work? And is there balancec cables shorter than 3m to get to this? Tricky to get Headphone cables...
Writing this from heaven, cuz I took a shot every time Z said Analytical.
When I just want to sit back relax and chill to music it's the Z1R but when I want to really listen and pick out all the little details it's the AP2000ti and to some extent the Arya but they can be for both.
Thanks for the review, as I just put these on my x-mas list.
For real, what's up with the white Grados?
I think it is some kind of prototype
Pretty sure it should be the HD560S and not HD560 to eliminate ambiguity with the HD 560 Ovation.
His link went to the HD560S
@@marvinwaxler9925 yes but the title and thumbnail
Added to the Title and Link. I will edit the thumbnail when i can.
@@ZReviews alright thanks
@@ZReviews also they are named 560S like the 660S, itâs mesh design is exactly the same as the 660S as well. They clearly had that in mind when they made these.
Not sure if it was said anywhere, is there a decent cable I should be looking at in particular to replace the stock one?
As someone who absolutely indulges in recreational listening, I do also have a slight pickyness to how I want my music to sound. These headphones bring out almost *too much* detail in my music and I really have been enjoying it. The bass shocked me, I didn't think open backs could have more bass than closed back 50mm gaming headphones, while still being controlled.
Great reviews ! Can you do a review on Sennheiser GSP 670 @ Z Reviews ?
You know Zeos loves his KPH30i when they are right next to him in a review of....basically a mixing headphone. And look like they are in place for him to go back to using once hes done. X3
LOL I "I swear on some songs these are it.. but on some other songs, well.. they're some other songs." Is this a jab at his review of the sivga phoenix?
How do the recently reviewed pc38x compare to these?
I'm at music school. I can't do all my mixing in studios so these the closest thing to the monitors in control rooms so these are literally perfect for me. My btr3 warms them up nicely when I'm not working
I've been debating getting a qudelix 5k or a btr3k with these cans. How's the dac and can the btr3k power these guys well enough?
@@AssassinsFear btr3k has plenty. It plays at unsafe levels if you max it out completely.
Zeos which would you recommend best for listening to anime ostâs and classical music: These (560s), the Jubilees (58x), or the drop senn 38x gaming headphones? Iâll also be using them for gaming but iâm assuming that all of them would be good enough for gaming. Or is there another set of headphones you would recommend that is under $200? I appreciate your enthusiastic reviews and I hope you keep the good work going!
same... what did you get at the end?
Does the HD 560S sound the same as or better than Samson's SR850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones ?
If you use these headphones with an IFI stack they sound really good with 2 X bass buttons. I have the IFI Zen Air Dac and IFI ZEN Air Can together. Makes a fuller sound with the two bass buttons.
The new HE560 V4 is out on Adorama, would you compare against other HE560s?
Okay, so how's this vs HD58X? I'm always plays FPS gaming and also watches slice of life (relaxing) anime.
Thank you for the review. Would these be good for classical music or 50's-60's jazz listened to via my iphone? I like to listen while I read at home but I dont want to spend money on an amp/dac or more expensive headphones. I just want to hear the music clearly and accurately. Only for classical and jazz.
These headphones have 120 ohm, and require an amp for clarity and accuracy... They don't need a super fancy amp though, a cheap Schiit stack (Modi+Heresy), or a FiiO K5 Pro (Dac & Amp in 1 unit, combo) will do just fine... Whichever you choose, it's roughly like 200 dollars, same as the headphone in question, basically.
I would recommend the FiiO K5 Pro, for your purposes though, you want clarity and accuracy, and the FiiO has the best sound quality support, up to 32 bit 768kHz...
However, the Schiit stack has twice as much power, so if you're looking to future proof yourself in case you want to get hard-to-drive headphones, the schiit stack will serve you better, it's a beefcake, it can power any headphone without issue, it can also power speakers, small ones, of course... With the schiit stack you also need to buy RCA jumper cables separately, something to keep in mind.
Sennheiser HD 560S or the Phillips Fidelio X2HR? (Regardless of price)
I gonna buy this headphone after this video :)). My Fa3s sound warm, smooth, somehow like tube amp, HD560s would balance the sound. I think 2.5 should be easily drive this
Hey Zeus, when are you gonna review on Slate VSX Headphones!!
I always buy at best buy if they have it in stock. One day (or god forbid 2 days) is just too long to wait in 2020
I'm really considering these for my desk setup. I currently have the Teufel aureol real and feel the need to upgrade. I will definitely buy a dac/amp combo later (ifi zen dac probably), but I'm uncertain if i can even use them without an amp. Has anyone experience with it? I have to say, my mainboard is kind of cheap (MSI B350m pro vdh)
desk setup, instead of... a flight sim?
So basically they tried bringing back the details of the OLD 560 Ovation II headphones. WHich blow away ALL their current models I've tried (all way up to hd 700). Also let me add the PERFECT pairing for the old 560 Ovation II's is a ifi idsd black label with the bass boost switch flipped up/on. Audio PERFECTION.
Z please , I really want to send you something that for me still is special and want to hear your review before I get my hd 560 jubeliee , and I want to hear you preach on something that has been dear to my heart . And I am setting up to get roasted on this big time
What headphones would you pick for enjoyment and analytcal listening? I wm looking at the ath ad500x. I have mm300 gen2 and tygr 300r but the soundstage feels too narrow and not spacious enough for me especially when gaminng too.
Would the hd560s be an upgrade from my hd599 se? I have the fiio k5 pro.
Hi great video, I found 560s petty good, yes the cable is naff, lot of the other manufacturers have 2 sets of leads a long and short one , like you I ordered a replacement, comfortable but not as comfortable as my hd575 , but I did buy a headband comforter as it didnât have one . I did get hd560s for ÂŁ129 , I just seen on drop is now $179. Regards mark
Any recommendations for closed back headphones to use with a digital piano? Under $200 not the beyerdinamic d770 pro thanks!
Sony CD900st
What do you advise for a dac/amp to game with this HD560S ? Thanks.
These look like a slightly better version of HIFIMAN HE400i for a slightly higher price. Z, are you sure you're not flipping imaging and soundstage?
Can I use them for mixing music and music production like DT880 pro?
Hilarious. A new benchmark in reviews. Lovely stuff.
So being that I am an owner of the HD280, do the HD560s outperform the closed HD280's?
How would you say these compare to 660s in terms of imaging and separation?
Go to rtings
How do they sound with a Liquid Spark AMP?
Which schiit amp is best for this one? The heresy or magni 3+?
The HD598 cables used to be thicker than the latter HD599 cables.
Are these a good upgrade from the SHP9500?
I use my 560s when playing my guitar at night. That's the only reason I love the cable length.
Would these be a substantial upgrade from the 598 as far as either staging or sound signature?
Regarding staging and soundstage, it should be about the same (which is not a bad thing, the 598 is well regarded for that), since that depends a lot in the housing and the 560S is pretty much a 598 with a different driver.
However, WHAT A DRIVER! Although staging and imaging are not too different from its predecessors, sound quality and sound signature are definitely miles ahead of the 598 and 599 thanks to the new driver.
I'd personally rather a DT880 or even 990 (the 990s highs get incredibly accurate in diffuse field once the pads wear in, before that they're terrible so use discretion and grains of salt and all that) for the price, but if you're set on these they are a much better set in terms of signature. Stage is similar
I wanted to try my 1st analytical headphones, then you dropped the fashion show metaphore. I don't think I wanna go through that route anymore.
Review the new L'acoustics in ear monitors when you get the chance!
hmm.. xduoo ta-10 or ta-20 would be good for 560s?
This is gonna be exciting!
Nils Lofgren Acoustic live. ""Keith don,t go. "" Wonderful with 560s . Thank very much. đ
Can i enjoy music with these on a phone + usb dac + spotify premium?
Hahahah...Great review bro... got me at the end with the Best Buy/ Amazon.... Hahahahah.
Can you use these 120 OHMs with a new tv set without using an additional external amp?
What would be a great closed back under $500 that doesnât have uncomfortable treble?
Possibly the Meze's 99 or akg 371
My taste in music is incredibly varied, I want to get good open backs for $200 but I guess these might not be the best options since odds are alot of my music wouldn't be the best for this
These or pc38x for gaming? Zeos pls, every headset you mention has good imaging makes me wonder how they are for gaming.
Would like to know as well.
I got these two cans, and to be honest when I'm playing cod it feels like i can pinpoint enemy footsteps more on 560s rather than pc38x and i am using mayflower arc mk2 for both.
on the otherhand the pc38x is good but sometimes i can't distinguish between front left and front right accurately.. well this is based on my experience, i don't know with the others. hope it helps
Go watch this review, it's a comparison of those two and HE400i only from a competitive fps performance perspective.

Basically DMSâs review of the Sivga Phoenix, except for HT560S instead of the Phoenix.
Coming from HD595's, the 560s are much more exciting to listen to. Less warmth, but better bass extension and more highs.
I think that sounds just fine. Most audiophiles always go "warmth! warmth!" but I think that you will get too hot eventually from all of warmth. I want a more natural temperature from my music.
I am an HD598 owner, do you think I would have a similar reaction to yours?
What dac/amp or dac amp combination would u recommend for these?
zen dac / xduoo mt602
But what does he think of the wire?
very good review
I like the long cables.
When at the PC, I like the freedom to stand up and grab something from the mini fridge, or lean back and watch a movie.
I don't want to drop something on the floor, lean down, and rip the damn amp off the shelf.
they are on amazon now
Dear Z, please help me, I need your advice. Can fiio btr5 run this 560s plugged with 2.5 balanced cable and how you compare the sound same btr5 plugged with same 2.5 balanced cable in 660s. Or maybe btr5 is not enough for those headphones. Thanks in advance
Any news? Any other affordable portable amps or tubes you can recommend?
are these similar or better than my old hd558s
So these are more analytical than dt1990 or ndh20.
If I'm enjoying my HD598 better than any other of my headphones but want a bit more bass and bass extension (and overall resolution) are the HD560s for me? Or should I go with HD6XX?
It really depends on your use case and whether or not you have a tube amp/good amp. HD6xx are harder to drive than the HD560s. For gaming/general use I'd go with the HD6xx because of it soundstage and darker sound. Obviously from the video, HD560s for analytical listening because of it imagining. Both headphones benefit from a tube amp.
Hd58x jubilee is what you looking for.
@@Hark777 but are they really more resolving than the hd598? I want a noticable upgrade.
@@sebo123159 You said a bit more bass and overall more resolution. Its not huge upgrade but its worth imo. I love my hd58x. A huge upgrade will be hifiman Sundara or something in that price range.
