    He had 70 against an awful Spurs team. David Robinson had 72 and he wasn't the greatest C. Embiid plays in a non big dominant era. Put him back in the 80's-90's against Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, Smits, Mourning, etc etc and he prob looks really good still, but his defenders would match him better.

      Bro. Embiid can shoot and dribble not one of the players you mentioned can do those things. He would cook the entire league even worse if he played back then. They would have zero idea how to guard him. He’s a center that shoots 90% from the ft line. Do you understand how insane that is? He has one of the best midrange games in the nba as well. While also being able to drive and eurostep and hop step defenders. And he’s faster than most centers. He’s literally the perfect build for an nba player.

      @@sbkamara2003 we will see if he even shows up-he usually doesnt in Denver.I don't mean he plays bad-he just wont play here-only has once. Jokic hit a game winning buzzer beater that night BTW. I work at the arena a few feet from where the visiting bus unloads,& I hope he actually actually shows up this time. But if I was an "Embied fan"-I'd care far more if he actually does something in the 2nd round of the playoffs-& actually steps foot in a conference final(let alone NBA Finals or win a ring)-since he never has yet-than what he does in a January regular season game or if he wins another regular season MVP.
      We already knows he's great in the regular season-problem is he shrinks when it actually matters in the playoffs-at least to this point in his career. His Philly Sixers have basically been the Cowboys or Toronto Maple Leafs of the NBA. Great in the regular season-gaggers in the playoffs...& always in the 1st 2 rounds. Not like any of those teams ever make deep runs but just fall short in the end-they don't even get close.

      @@sbkamara2003 "Wheres Embied?"...he just must be scared to play in Denver in front of our fans,& at altitude at this point...kinda like he looks scared to play in the 2nd round-granted not close to as scared as Ben Simmons vs Atlanta-lol. (Im kidding Philly fans-Embied has underachieved,& often shrinks in the playoffs but I dont really think hes scared-Simmons is/was.)We don't know about the conference finals or finals-since he never gets there! But give the JV Sixers,& coaching staff a ton of credit. Nuggets were awful,& clearly took them for granted with so many guys out. Nuggets fully deserved to lose today but thank God survived.
      Reminded me so much of the game in November or December-when we beat the fully healthy Clippers in LA earlier this season-with Jokic,Murray,KCP,& Gordon out. It was maybe 5 or 6 games after they got Harden-whenever that was.(so at least they had a partially valid excuse of not having played many games together) But a win is a win-•at least we didn't lose it like the Clippers that day. But this is getting ridiculous with Embied-hes played 1 game here,& even the Philly fans at Ball arena yesterday were criticizing him,& said they were embarrassed he keeps ducking the game in Denver every year.

    • @chili015
      @chili015 Před 4 měsíci

      In Wilt's era, there was no offensive goaltending. He grabbed his own teammate's shots and layed them in the basket. In his 50 PPG season, this is what he did 80% of the time.

      @@chili015 And players have never had more freedom then they do today.

    • @chili015
      @chili015 Před 4 měsíci

      @MrOctober44 - The 1960s had the most freedom. There were very little rules. There was basically only a shot clock, fouling out, 3 second violations, and other regular standards... but for the most part, it wasn't tightly officiated. Also, there was no double-teaming back then. Wilt consistently just laid the ball in without any contests. He didn't take jumpers or do some crazy fancy footwork to get his shots up, he just mostly stood under the basket and tipped shots in. It was the definition of freedom and why we'll never see anything like it again today. By the way, Chamberlain took 63 shots and 32 free throws in his 100 point game. From an efficiency standpoint, it was a good game, but not impressively great, especially when you consider none of those 63 shots were outside of 5 feet from the basket. Embiid's 70 points on 41 shots is way more impressive given today's athletes. And Embiid only made 1 three to do it, most of it was a crazy mid-range effort that you won't see duplicated very often.

      Embiids better than all of them statistically. Shaq never averaged 30 a season. Jokic is a glorified domontas sabonis. Tim Duncan is great but not as lethal as embiid. Moses Malone is great but again embiid is more skilled and has better stats. Wilt could be better but there’s no way to know. Bill would have gotten absolutely fucked by embiid if he played today.

    • @willbot36
      @willbot36 Před 4 měsíci +3

      "Embiids better than all of them statistically." No. You need basketball-reference. Shaq was an unstoppable rim scorer and had some impressive playoff success. Jokic's facilitating is elite enough to vault over Embiid's value, and that's before factoring in the 2023 ring. Tim Duncan isn't as lethal as Embiid, but he's better. Defense is marginally more valuable than offense in the NBA. A great defender / good offender is better than a great offender / good defender. Malone is the greatest offensive rebounder of all time, statistically. Wilt was better, watch some film. Embiid wouldn't score well against prime Russell in Russell's own era. That's kinda the issue with dropping players into different eras.
