  • The secretive GenoHaradan influenced galactic history since the dawn of the Republic. But what happened to the GenoHaradan after KOTOR and did they show up again in history?

    I feel like the GenoHaradan should see a bit more use. I feel like they could’ve been perfect in the SWTOR Imperial Agent storyline instead of the Star Cabal. The GenoHaradan has a history of political interest so for them to go the extra mile and be against both the Empire and Republic could be interesting. Combined with their skill and proficiency, it would prove to perfectly counteract the ruthless Imperial Intelligence. Overall though I think they’re an interesting little part of the life and hope for maybe a SWTOR addition involving them.

      They did some years ago. Supreme Chancellor Saresh puts a hit on you when you go visit the sith Empress Acina on Dromund Kaas on one of the chapters. The GenoHaradan do come on force to try to kill you, but are not enough.

    KOTOR is the greatest video game ever created. The emotions it stirs in me even 20 years later are something that no other video game has ever done and I doubt ever will again. I'm so glad that people share my passion for it, and still discuss it.

    It would have been so much better if they had included the Genoharadan in KOTOR 2. Even when I first played it at the age of like 12, I had the feeling that KOTOR 2 just did not make sense or flow well, and after I found out so much had been cut it clicked for me. If they had been able to keep them in, it would’ve made all the dialogue about subtle background manipulations of galactic events more understandable.

  • @TheAzureGuardian

    I think using the GenoHaradan in KotOR II would have been interesting, but I was fine with what we got. However, if the KotOR Remake does well enough and Aspyr gets the opportunity to work on a KotOR II Remake and possibly add in all the stuff that was removed (like the stuff available in the Restored Content Mod and maybe Planet M4-78), maybe they could see about redoing the Nar Shadda section to use the GenoHaradan content? Just something that could be interesting to see if we get to that point if they can do it in a way that enhances the story with little to no damage to what was in the Obsidian version.

    Whenever I play KOTOR I I always ignore the Genoharadan because the first time I took their missions I found myself earning a lot of dark side points. Something someone who wants to stay on the light side didn't want. But now that I learn that you can undermine them. Wow. How can I?

      Basically, Hulas's bounties are more personal targets he wants you to eliminate: the other 3 overseers, but he doesn't tell you that. Once you're done killing them, he sarcastically congratulates you then brags about how now he's the only overseer left and , with the other 3 out of the picture, the leader of the whole organisation. He played you for a fool. You can either let him get away with it, never to see him again (he doesn't recruit you nor send assassins against you because in both cases he deems you "too dangerous" and you know his identity) or you can tell him he'll pay for using you. You both decide to settle things on Tatooine in the dune seas, alone, just the 2 of you. Regardless of whether you show up all alone or with a party, Hulas doesn't honour your agreement and shows up with all his buddies to try kill you.

    • @roigergoololo3966
      @roigergoololo3966 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Of courses, he loses badly and now all overseers are dead, leaving the GenoHaradan leaderless. I always make it a point to do this quest in the game, even when I'm light sided (I can always get points back later and max my alignment anyway). It's my favourite side quest and I always show up alone against Hulas and his cronies just to show him how much more honorable and powerful I am compared to him. It's also pretty badass to think I single handedly took down all leaders of this super secret organisation.

    I was pleased with the Exchange part of Nar Shadaa, but it would certainly have been cool to see the Genoharadan make another appearance as well. Looking back, it’s a bit disappointing we didn’t see them, especially seeing how the behind the scenes events would’ve been something they’d be involved with.

  • @The_Bear_Adventures
    @The_Bear_Adventures Před 2 lety +3

    The only issue with seeing more of them in kotor 1 is that actually working with them is an entirely dark side thing so half or likely the vast majority won't even see it. Making it unlikely to be much of a priority. Now if you can play along and take down the overseers and then find a way to take down hulas at the end in an attempt to take down the whole organisation resulting in a largely balanced amount of dark/light side points then maybe that could work. You'd have to show their influence earlier in the game though, maybe competing with them for a bounty on Taris and when defeating them seeing a symbol and then matching that up with something else later before discovering this is how they recruit some of their new members, i.e people who can take on their current ones etc

    • @syrielnightfall2418
      @syrielnightfall2418 Před 11 měsíci

      I understand your logic, but this is simply not the case.
      I DO agree on making them show some relevance to the story early in the game (some sort of weird mysterious event goes on and then you later find the GenoHaradan agent who admits to doing it.)
      However, an obvious popular game: Undertale, shows why the light vs dark isn't truly an issue. KoToR is already a game that sparks alot of creative unique builds, from stealth, combat, force powers, mixed builds, blasters, melee, etc. With events being fleshed out to the utmost perfection, it shows alot of quality and care in their work, which sparks people to WANT to try new builds and scenerios with the game. One highlight being Juhani. Either she joins the team or dies, and she can drastically change the story for some people. It sparks "what ifs?" and makes people WANT to play the other side of the story, so GenoHaradan being mostly dark isn't too big of an issue.
      Also, getting Light Side/Dark Side points back isn't that difficult in the base game, so optimal players would probably just get their points back, anywho.
