- Demonstration of the amazonbasics 5 cup auto-drip coffee maker. Makes coffee quick, sports a mesh filter saving on paper filters, and is pretty easy to use and clean.
The only con I see is that the coffee is a bit on the warm side over being hot but still enjoyable. Also compare to the Mr. Coffee 4 cup maker seen right below:

It's looks like like warm
After you are done and you clean and rinse out the mesh filter basket, do you then put it back in but leave the lid open so that it dries? Or do you put the rinsed/cleaned moist filter basket back in and close the lid? Does that matter if it traps the moisture inside with the lid closed? I am new to making coffee. Thanks

Never tried, but guessing it will shave off some time. I always use cold filtered water for better taste

You can find paper filters at many stores like Walmart, Weis Markets, Target etc. most any grocery store should have the 4-5 cup filters as well as online too. If for some reason u can’t get the smaller filters the bigger 10-12 cup standard basket filters will work too. There just a tad bit bigger, but won’t hurt anything I have both sizes.

What you did wrong was buy an AmazonBasics coffee maker instead of something more reputable like Mr. Coffee.

No, only use water when brewing. you can add the milk in after it is brewing but never in the machine itself.

Slightly unrelated to the video, but what does that Chock Full o' Nuts coffee taste like?
It's okay, not too strong just a basic regular strength cup. Sorta along the lines of Maxwell House and Folgers medium grinds.

Can the prepared coffee be warmed again or it changes the taste?
It will change the flavor. I always notice a gritty bitter taste if I leave it on the heating plate too long. Reheating may do the same.
@@CounterClutter The reviews mentioned that this coffee maker does not have any temperature controlling mechanism (like other coffee makers do, even Mr. Coffee ), and it continually gets hotter and burns the coffee.

How much time it will take to make 3 to 4 cups?
It’s actually pretty fast. Doesn’t take more than 3-5min to make a whole pot.

No, use water only.
Nope. Coffee is only water soluble. There isn’t enough water for caffeine and coffee to bind to. Yeah you could but absolutely should not. One you won’t get good coffee two it’ll screw up the coffee machine. Can’t clean out the residue in the machine and hoses. What you can do, is heat hot milk and add instant coffee if you want to have a very milky coffee

You can use a 4 cup size basket style paper filter as well

Sorry for the late reply. Use one tablespoon per cup for an average brew, heaping tablespoons for a stronger flavor.

How long does the coffee stay hot?
From what I remember it stays hot for as long as you have it turned on... not sure if the warming plate shuts off automatically or not.
@@CounterClutter Some stay hot for two hours and then shut down wonder if this is the case with this coffee maker
most coffeemakers I've tested so far do have that 2 hour auto shutdown feature, some even offer adjustable shut off times. This model does not seem to have neither though so best to be safe and turn off manually.
If the water level goes above the coffee grounds in the filter, you will get some water directly in the can... And when water just drips through the center of the filter only about 10% of the grounds will actually be used... The remaining 90 % of coffee grounds is actually redundant...
This is a problem in all these popular coffee makers. I do not see any manufacturer or reviewer or sales crew or end users have noticed this . No one seems to be bothered about these as I see in every promotional video !! addressed
