Freddie was the best frontman for a band in history. He did with Queen what Elvis did solo. Both of them made it look so easy but you know it wasn't.

Freddie idolized Aretha Franklin & was influenced by her music in writing this song. They have 15-16 albums, many from the 70’s & many songs aren’t made for video. For Magic tour, they opened with One Vision & Tie Your Mother Down at Wembley 1986. One song leads directly to the other, & hearing both together are fantastic. Love this version of One Vision.

I think it was Brian (might have been Roger) who described this as "white gospel"! Since Aretha Franklin was Freddie's inspiriration, its totally appropriate. He said it would be highlight of his life if Aretha would sing it. It's tragic to me that she never did :(

Great reaction! Freddie loved the song, it was his favorite, it is a tribute to Aretha Franklin who he adored. The Somebody To Love version from Hammersmith 1979 that you showed in the background is actually one of the best versions of the song ever performed live by Queen and especially Freddie. Queen has loads of great live performances, some people prefer Queen's live versions to the songs then their studio versions.

And… EVERY reactor who has watched the 1981 Montreal performance and the 1982 Milton Keynes version… has actually said they like Milton Keynes BETTER!😍 I think it’s because Montreal is perfect, but Milton Keynes is PASSIONATE, FUN, and Freddie’s vocals are EVEN BETTER (as with EVERYTHING from Milton Keynes.😁)
P.S. The video from Queen’s official channel hasn’t been remastered yet; it ISN’T as crystal as the Montreal one…
