    I was gifted this Holiday Buggy by the wonderful RC Elf and it is a classic looking buggy with a more modern chassis. It is truly an entry level kit but is a wonderful addition to any collection. It is a relaxing and enjoyable kit to put together and a fun little car to drive around. I hope you enjoy the video and if you get a chance to pick one of these up I totally recommend adding one to your collection!

      It was one of their very early cars and this is the re-release of it. They don't last in stock very long at all when they get stock so not something that shows u on websites or shops too often in the states. It is marketed as one of their beginner models but with some oil filled shocks and a 540 motor they are pretty fun to drive around. The stock 380 is ok but slow, the 540 really peps it up! The only draw back and it is not a big one is the body is not meant to be painted, it is a paint resistant plastic and you can do things to make it stick but it is a pain. So if you like it in blue it is a cool little quick kit to build! thanks for watching and glad you found something new!

I have the radio cranking and get sucked into my own little time warp of fun and next thing I know it is built and I took no photos or video of anything! I had done some videos early on with time-lapse footage but it always got skipped over by the majority of viewers so I stopped adding that in as not many seemed interested in it. I will make a note to myself (the only way I can remember things now!) to stop and do some build snips throughout them and add them into the video. Thanks for the input as this only helps me make better videos!! Thanks for watching and for the suggestion, much appreciated!

    Hi Addam, I hope you’re keeping well. Thank was a great video of the fabulous Holiday Buggy. For the iconic kit, I would be more inclined to leave it with the sports tuned 380 motor. I think the 540 would eventually damage the gearbox. Great looking kit for its era! I remember them well, back in the earlier 80’s. Anyway, keep up the great hints and tips, always a pleasure to watch your videos. Take care, keep well and all the best to you and the family 😉😊

    • @christopherdeguzman1137
      @christopherdeguzman1137 Před 2 lety

      Huh?!🤔. A 540 motor will not ruin the gear box at all. I put a Tamiya GT tuned motor and the gear box holds up really well through out the years I drove it. In fact many CZcamsr that have this buggy uses a 540 instead and so far have not heard any issues. This buggy came with a 380 because it was intended to be a beginner buggy kit hence the 380 motor and the injected molded blue color of the body so there is no need to paint it. Anyway, it’s a great buggy all around. I do wish the a arms were a narrow so the buggy will have that same stance like the original 80’s HB. Thankfully, there is a CZcamsr by the name “Humble Vintage RC” that 3D printed arms and wheels to fit so it can have the narrow stance of the original HB, but retain the DT-02 chassis of which is a great chassis. The chassis reminds me so much is the 80’s race buggy RC-10 gold pan and Losi JRX2 chassis lay out and style.

      If it was a very thin one like Tamiya makes yes, all I had was aftermarket and they tend to be a bit larger and the shaft on the stock motor, the Sport tuned and torque tuned motors are about 4-5mm shorter than the industry standard. There was not enough shaft to get the grub screw to grab one it was flipped over. I ended up putting a GT Tuned motor in it and those and the other rebuildable motors.have the longer shafts. • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a tough one. It really depends on if the mounting holes are the same. On the Tamiya kits the motors are not adjustable to fit various sizes pinions. They have set positions where the motor goes so it usually will only allow for one or two settings. If the mounting holes are the same as either the 540 can or the 380 can you should be able to. Otherwise it would not be a good idea as the amount of modification needed may end up ruining the gear box. You should be able to find the motor specs online with some googling and check it against what you have. Wish I had a better, yes/no answer for you but without knowing the mounting hole setup I can't say. Otherwise anything is possible with the right tools and enough epoxy!!!!
